Leo even rembered reading sowhere that this particular beast species was passive and peace-loving. In other words, it didn’t attack but instead fled from predators. "Why does it look so shrivelled?" Leo muttered after seeing the corpse. It looked as though all its blood and flesh had dried up, as if the corpse had been dead for weeks, if not months.

Behind Leo, Layla called out in a squeaky voice.
