Chapter 488: Entering The Wyvern’s Realm - 1
"Aunt, did you hear that? So many people around the age of 30 even need protection from slaves like Hidimba. Keke, how did humans even survive the initial days of the apocalypse?" Pyrotrax snickered after Ashton made his announcent.
"Trax, you cannot compare humans to dragons; we are inherently superior to them in every way. But there’s also the fact that these people are not the pinnacle of humanity," she said calmly.
"So even if most humans you co across are no better than third-rate, there are always so that will make you reconsider that notion." After saying that, she aningfully looked towards Leo, who matched her gaze for a mont.
Kuku, interesting. Never knew humans had such a level of prodigy among them. I think things will get interesting inside the realm.
Ashton chose to ignore the dragons’ words and continued with his speech.
"For signals, you may use flares that will be sold around the edges of this encirclent for just 1 silver coin each! Very cheap if I factor in the manufacturing cost. It’s all because I want your safety and your chances to obtain fortuitous opportunities, help yourselves advance, and in return, just help spot a Wyvern! It doesn’t necessarily have to be the main Wyvern that attacked my territory centuries ago, just any Wyvern!"
Ashton looked towards Zerathra aningfully, and she gave a slight nod.
It seed they were here for the main Wyvern.
Unbeknownst to the general public, this Fla Wyvern’s secret realm was once a part of the Sunborn Empire’s land in the dragons’ world. When the countless worlds shattered apart, the sa happened to the dragons’ world, and so of their important domains, like this secret realm, drifted away from their mainland and appeared elsewhere in the new world.
Now, they couldn’t just go around claiming that land as theirs since it lay within another race’s already established territory.
It wasn’t that they didn’t want to outright place their na on that territory; they very well might have done so if not for the Human Emperor. His strength alone held them back from interfering with human territories directly.
So, the Fla Dragons and the humans ca to an agreent regarding such territories that appeared in inconvenient places.
These agreents varied depending on the importance of the land. For now, the Emperor himself was directly involved in forming the agreent because no capable individual had yet been appointed.
Coming back to the Wyvern’s Secret Realm, the agreent was simple. Humans would keep the land inside the secret realm, along with all the natural treasures, while the dragons would get their slaves—the Wyverns residing inside the realm.
The particular reason for this was that the leading Wyvern, Hidimba, never inford the ruling authorities of the Fla Dragons about his appearance in the new world, harbouring intentions of breaking free from his slave seal, which had gradually weakened over ti.
And the slave seal had actually broken. According to the Fla Dragons, Hidimba noticed that the slave seal beca completely ineffective inside the secret realm. But when he ca out, even for a mont, to fight Count Ashton, the seal began to dominate him again, forcing him to hurriedly retreat back into the realm.
At that mont, his master had been busy fighting a high-stakes battle against a demon and couldn’t promptly arrive at the signalled location. Only after asking about all the fire-related secret realms within human territory did they discover Hidimba’s secret realm. And now, they wanted to make a public display of what happened when a slave tried to rebel.
"Kukuku, Hidimba, oh Hidimba. If only your slave sigil had broken quietly. But even that shattered as loudly as your screech..." Zerathra said as a small sphere-like hologram of a slave sigil hovered above her palm.
The slave sigil was shattered into pieces, as though soone had forcibly broken the binding. And that soone was the world itself.
When Zerathra tried to check Hidimba’s whereabouts through the seal after he briefly appeared and fled back into the realm, the sigil should have responded. But her interference was blocked by the world because Hidimba was inside a protected secret realm.
From that day onward, the slave seal slowly crumbled until it finally shattered last year.
Tsk, no wonder the Wyvern stayed hidden inside the realm for so long... Ashton thought. Apparently, the Wyvern had been waiting for the slave sigil to completely break apart and free itself. That way, once it ca out of the secret realm again, it would truly be free.
Ashton was particularly resentful because Zerathra would take Hidimba—the main Wyvern and his taming target—away for punishnt. But there was also so relief since, according to the Fla Dragons, Hidimba had been rewarded with 5 female Wyverns as mates for a brave deed he perford before the apocalypse.
This guaranteed there were at least 5 female Wyverns and, of course, so young Wyverns or even eggs born from those females—unless Hidimba was infertile, which was impossible for beasts like Wyverns. Draconic beasts were particularly known for their libido. There was no way Hidimba, with a Juvenile level of intelligence, would be able to restrain himself with 5 females solely for him.
Combined with the fact that the secret realm spanned over 160,000 square kilotres, it could easily sustain over 100 or even 150 Wyverns, considering the region was volcanic and had lower vegetation than usual due to the harsh surroundings.
"Hehe, Aunt, I need a bit more blood to climb to the higher end of the noble bloodline, if you allow..." Vulcarion said eagerly.
"Of course, Vulcarion. I specifically made Hidimba a slave for my dear nephews to enhance their bloodline after consuming his children. He is a breeding bull that I personally tad back in the day," Zerathra said without a trace of expression, as though it were the most natural thing in the world.
"Thank you, Aunt! You are the best! With this, I will finally be able to compete with that bastard. Hahahaha."
