Now reading: Chapter 371 - 361: A Cruel World from Abyss Summoner, a Sci-fi novel by The heart has not yet warmed..

This is a dangerous campaign, not only because of the perils facing T City, but also because the Order’s defense will weaken significantly after losing a third of its forces.

Chen Feng didn’t rush to leave. On the eve of departure, he turned his blade towards the surrounding monsters. Inferior Demons, Dark Elves, and Bottom-dwelling Demon Fish were fully mobilized. Any group that ford a scale and those insects and beasts whose strength reached Bronze Tier were t with bloody slaughter.

Blood ford streams, and the entire sky above the Order was filled with a strong scent of blood.

The high-tier monsters lurking nearby the Order were slaughtered once again. Such soulless creatures found no rcy from Chen Feng, and after two days of bloody suppression, the number of dead life had reached an uncountable figure.

As for Chen Feng, he didn’t have much ti to linger here. Once T City was completely destroyed, he would find himself in a passive position.

He took the map of T City prepared for him by Xu Hongzhuang, changed into a clean shirt. In this world fallen into darkness, brand-na clothing no longer had any significance. People were now most eager for those old army coats, which seed outdated before, but were now practical.

In the cold winter, army coats could better ward off the chill, increasing survival chances for ordinary people.

But Chen Feng didn’t need such bulky clothing. Having entered the Golden Tier, his genes had completely transford. Even in the cold winter, he wouldn’t harm his body without a stitch of clothing. Clothes served more as decoration than necessity for him.

Ti hadn’t changed Chen Feng much. In fact, his skin had beco more delicate as his abilities increased. When not in battle, nobody could link the young man to being the leader of the entire Order.

"I’ll leave this to you."

Before setting off, Chen Feng had so words to instruct Xu Hongzhuang.

She nodded, her expression a bit disinterested perhaps due to not participating in the battle, but she understood the Order was everyone’s foundation. Despite so dissatisfaction, she still put in 100% effort to maintain the functioning of the Order.

"Mm, take care of yourselves. Though there aren’t many insects left, stay on high alert, especially for those in the wild that might sneak in... I’ll leave this to you, Xu Hongzhuang and Wei Xun. Until I return, there mustn’t be any damage here!"

After giving simple orders, Chen Feng glanced at the horizon, knowing ti was running out. After bidding farewell, he organized the army and set off. Several departnts combined to form a troop of one thousand, moving like a winding Yellow Dragon toward T City.

.........

For the sake of concealnt, Chen Feng temporarily put away the Bottom-dwelling Demon Fish into the Abyss. The creature was massive, and the slight "squeak" of its wriggling tentacles in the water could easily alert the enemy if brought along.

All needs of these thousand people regarding food, clothing, shelter, and transportation required careful arrangent. Fortunately, aside from the thousand warriors, there was a logistics departnt of three hundred responsible for transporting weapons, food, and taking care of the warriors.

The loss of electricity in this world resulted in industrial regression. Although vehicles beca useless, thanks to the cooperation of professionals, insects and beasts solved the transportation problem.

Beast Tars, Insect Control Masters.

Over ti, the Order found many such professionals. Among the warriors, there were also so monsters occasionally mixed in, carrying astonishing amounts of supplies on their backs, greatly reducing human burden.

Among these transport teams, a squad of Bronze-tier Marching Ants unquestionably caught attention from many. Everyone knew ants had a strong carrying capacity. Considering long-distance operations, Chen Feng had earlier ordered a group of mutated Marching Ants to be tad.

These Marching Ants were a full two ters tall with incredible endurance. Despite being only thirteen in number, they carried 30% of the supplies, and as a multi-legged creature, they moved quickly, facilitating the journey.

A day of marching.

Chen Feng looked around and couldn’t help but sigh.

Although the city under the Order wasn’t very prosperous, it was still a city with a resident population exceeding four million. Restaurants, KTVs, and entertainnt facilities were everywhere.

Other basic infrastructure was also complete with mobile service halls, small computer markets, beauty salons, and clothing stores being abundant, usually bustling. Sadly, after nearly a year of calamity, there were no more custors, and ti had devastated the shops, with doors and windows shattered and whitewashed facades stained with blood.

Scattered on the streets lay overturned and smashed cars, and occasionally so broken skeletons could be seen.

Having walked for a day, they had reached a small county near the Order area, yet no person was in sight. Even well-guarded tropolises suffered destructive blows, so towns with weak self-defense couldn’t possibly facilitate escape, could they?

This indicated no survivors were left here.

While searching so rooms, what Chen Feng saw in a bar left a deep impression. In a narrow room, there lay a dozen decomposed corpses. Owing to ti, these bodies had rotted, maggots consuming their flesh, leaving only so flesh on bones.

These corpses bore no external injuries; they committed suicide. Perhaps because of hunger, despair, or so other reasons, the dozen bodies collapsed in irregular poses to the ground, ending their lives in this once-frequented bar.

The forr prosperity was indeed all gone, leaving only endless danger and the hardship of the apocalypse. All past modern lifestyles probably had bid farewell to mankind entirely.

This was a heavy journey.

Within the Order, most people strived to live. Humans being communal creatures, due to the Order, even with most relatives dead from disasters, they tried to walk out of the shadows with the support of companions.

Yet, upon leaving the Order and embarking on a new journey, they distressingly found the world was no longer as familiar.

No survivors.

Desolation filled every corner.

Without people, is it still a ho?

Most realized the disaster signified annihilation, but only after seeing it firsthand did they understand, apart from the Order, surrounding small towns were likely gone.

The outside was rife with danger. Without a large city as reliance, even villages of several hundred couldn’t withstand an insect assault once. Slaughter and calamity perated the land, an unstoppable culling, the population problem humanity had always failed to solve, was fundantally addressed in the apocalypse.

What was seen and heard on the road didn’t crush the warriors’ minds; instead, witnessing this destructive solitude solidified their resolve because perhaps the Order was the only pure land left on this territory.

There lay their relatives and a sense of belonging. Imagining even the Order becoming ruins, would they still have the courage to live?

.........

There were no significant attacks along the way.

The thousand-strong team was too formidable, and the imposing presence of insects and monsters transporting supplies was astonishing. Even if the enemy found traces, who would foolishly co to court death against such power?

Three days passed in a flash.

Chen Feng rembered this was once a planting area ant to guard against the Order’s sandstorms. The trees were mostly vegetation planted only a few years back. But now, after eight months of transformation, this planting area, nourished by power, had turned into a dense forest.

Sothing unknown had changed here, and in a short ti, every tree had grown into towering giants, densely packed into what was essentially a primal forest.

Within, unknown numbers of creatures lived. Besides so ferocious and terrifying insects, there were oddly-shaped beasts; it had clearly beco a paradise for monsters.

"Stay vigilant!"

Given the forest’s nurous dangers, Chen Feng promptly issued orders for everyone to be alert since nobody knew what terrifying creatures called such a place ho.

"Send the exploration team to scout the surrounding area."

"Yes!"

This aid mission to T City brought the elite. Even though many scout mbers were ordinary people, systematic training had transford them. Upon receiving orders, they dispersed into the forest.

Chen Feng waited quietly, and after a while, the lead scout returned, his face a bit panicked as if he had seen sothing surprising. He hurried to report to Chen Feng: "Sir, there’s a change ahead; a giant entirely made of stone is blocking the road!"
