Morning.
The large air-raid shelter was orderly, with food neatly arranged and trash piled together, not discarded haphazardly. Unlike before, when illness could be treated at clinics and hospitals, now the environnt doesn’t allow for it. If ordinary people fall ill, they can only rely on their immune system.
The weather is erratic, with clear skies during the day and torrential rain possible in the afternoon without any warning. This is nature’s way of selection; within three years, the mortality rate for the elderly or those with weak health reached 80%.
In such a situation, one must be extrely cautious in all things; otherwise, a flu could escalate into a deadly plague.
By the ti Chen Feng was ready to depart, it was already around ten o’clock. Groups of ten, five groups in total, stood straight before him, awaiting orders.
They quickly adapted to their new roles, each holding a weapon. Compared to the less lethal weapons before, through collections along the way, these people now had knives, clubs, and even so hamrs and wrenches.
However, while they might hold their own against ordinary people, they still seed vulnerable when facing monsters or professionals.
"When we et Feng Zhiyong, maybe I can ask him for so firearms," Chen Feng remained silent, thoughts swirling in his mind.
Ordinary firearms are minimally effective against High-tier Professionals, but they still possess so lethality against regular monsters and Bronze Level professionals. They could be useful for defending the city and sweeping away hordes of attacking fodder.
Firearms will not disappear from public view.
With further research, so researchers have crushed the bones of high-tier monsters and added them to gunpowder, giving bullets more destructive power.
Under the siege of monsters, humans rapidly developed and constructed one survivor base after another. Wisdom and research played a big role.
.........
Midday.
The team finally approached the factory. There were obvious signs of battle around, with so blood not even dried. Chen Feng chose not to approach, attempting to observe the surrounding environnt.
Judging from its appearance, this looked like a cent factory. Lacking workers and electricity, machines worth millions were no longer functioning. There were no human figures around the factory, but Chen Feng could sense that so gazes were scanning the surroundings.
Hidden sentry.
Apart from large factions that might build watchtowers or bunkers, even in the late apocalypse, regular forces prefer using hidden sentries to monitor enemies.
Holes are chiseled into walls for surveillance around the clock. At the first sign of disturbance, alarms are triggered to put everyone on alert.
With his advancent to silver, Chen Feng’s vision improved. He scanned around and spotted at least eight hidden sentries, each with a diater of roughly thirty centiters, comprehensively monitoring the surroundings.
Chen Feng made a hand gesture, and a Dark Elf imdiately stepped out from a rift.
"Oh my... such a power..."
"Who is this person? So beautiful..."
"Look at her ears, they’re pointed. Could she be the legendary elf?"
So people whispered among themselves. Even though they had witnessed Chen Feng’s summoning thod before, they still gaped in surprise upon seeing it again.
Initially, during their first battle, their attention was consud by the Ghouls, filled with fear with no thought to admire the Dark Elf. But now, after experiencing a battle, they were more battle-hardened and found themselves utterly captivated by the Dark Elf’s beauty.
Putting aside her lifestyle, the Dark Elf indeed looked like a standard goddess: short leather skirt, slim waist, peach blossom eyes. Her skin was flawless, each inch as smooth as silk, giving the impression that even water drops would slide off without clinging.
Additionally, she had a cold aura, standing there like a wintersweet, extrely aloof. This combination of allure and frigidity was irresistible, leaving young n with less self-control blushing and panting heavily, clearly unable to control their desires.
In comparison to these so-called beautiful strears, the Dark Elf was worlds apart. The forr couldn’t even begin to compare.
The Dark Elf no longer appeared as that seductive figure at first glance, rather, she had beco an ice beauty. Yet in reality, she was cold outside but fiery inside. Even subtle actions like bending over, lifting her gaze, or tucking her hair were irresistible, making it hard to look away from her appearance.
Allure.
It was dangerous, for a skilled archer, a mont of distraction was enough to unleash a fatal strike.
The Dark Elf ignored the astonished stares around her. She had the pride of a strong being; except for Chen Feng, the strength of these people wasn’t even comparable to minor Demons, at most re worms, fresh-born ones at that.
Ignorance.
These people weren’t worthy of her attention.
In the Abyss, if so worms dared to ander before her like this, she would have long since stepped up to crush them into a puddle of flesh, even reaching silver, her nature hadn’t changed.
Abyss creatures have no reason for killing.
The Dark Elf lifted her longbow. She hadn’t forgotten her mission, her eyesight even better than Chen Feng’s. At such a distance, she could even see the fine hairs on the enemy’s face.
Pupils focused.
The Dark Elf relied on arrows to survive in the Abyss, with each advancent greatly increasing her vision.
She aid her arrow at one of the sentries, a middle-aged man with a fierce countenance, holding a bread in his hand, munching on it.
Swoosh!
The man didn’t even have the chance to scream; a burst of blood flashed, and his head was pierced!
The Dark Elf raised her hand, aiming at another sentry. Everything happened in the blink of an eye, not even three seconds in between, so much so that the shouts from the factory hadn’t even started.
The sentries were completely unaware their companion had been killed.
Bang!
The mont the bowstring was released, another sentry fell, the death scene identical, his head pierced, a splash of blood bright against the ground.
Two corpses.
Suddenly, shouts erupted from inside the factory. Clearly, the death of the two caused so panic, but soon, following a piercing scream, those sounds gradually quieted.
Suppression.
It seed to be the usual violence-for-violence scenario.
Chen Feng took a step forward; the two corpses were rely a greeting.
This battle had just begun.
