Shera and ka moved swiftly through space.

As sovereign realm beings, traveling from one galaxy to another only took a few hours, depending on its size and the distance between. After a day, they finally settled in a remote galaxy.

If left to themselves, the two would have chosen a planet with no humans. But thinking of their children, they knew better. Humans are social beings, and the young especially need peers to relate to.

******

On a small green planet…

This world had life and was part of the Human Federation. The galaxy was backward, so while its humans were poor in wealth, they lacked nothing in food or shelter.

Above the skies, ka and Shera hovered hand in hand, gazing down at a quiet village.

They had explored countless towns and even the only kingdom of this planet, but none felt right. At last, they had found what they sought—peace.

"Seems nice," ka said with a smile.

"It is… they're peaceful, treating each other as friends rather than enemies," Shera nodded in approval.

The two glanced at each other as their divine brilliance faded, their radiant forms disappearing. Now they looked no different from mortals.

Hand in hand, they landed and walked into the village.

With a simple story and forged proof, they were welcod as new mbers.

Ti passed as ka and Shera learned the ways of mortal life. They toiled on farms, Shera learned to cook, they strolled under sunsets, and cherished every quiet mont.

The routine was simple, yet peaceful. And soon, they gave birth.

"ka, relax. Though our village isn't wealthy, we have the best midwives. Nothing will happen to your wife or child," an old man said kindly, with several villagers behind him.

Over the past year, everyone had co to know ka—a calm, hardworking, kind young man who was also unusually strong.

ka eased at the reassurance. The man was right. Besides, Shera herself was a powerhouse. He too was peak sovereign realm, yet in a single year of living as mortals, they had both nearly forgotten it.

Just as the n comforted him, ka's expression changed. He raised his hand, forming a do that instantly shielded the village.

Waaaah!

A newborn's cry echoed, filling the air with joy. The n erupted in congratulations as ka exhaled in relief, a humble smile on his face.

They had a son. ka was overjoyed.

********

Days passed. Then years. Then decades.

Fifty years ca and went.

Now disguised in their aged mortal forms, ka and Shera looked to be in their seventies. Old, but still strong and agile.

They had four children, each talented and extraordinary. Even more gifted than their parents—but ka and Shera always kept their potential hidden.

Their youngest, a daughter now twenty-eight, lived with them still.

He was with her that day when strangers arrived—an extended family, with elders, children, and grandchildren.

The new village head confronted them, but when he heard they had co for ka, he welcod them warmly. The rest of the villagers did too, sending soone to inform ka.

***********

In a simple but spacious ho, ka and Shera sat with their family, enjoying breakfast. The house was filled with chatter and laughter. Even in their aged disguises, their happiness shone brightly.

Three of their children were married, with families of their own. Only their youngest resisted marriage.

Knock knock.

A knock sounded at the door.

"I'll get it," their eldest son said. Now middle-aged, he stood and answered.

Monts later, he returned.

"Dad, Mom… it's for you. A large group of guests. They ntioned sothing about… fifty years."

ka and Shera's hearts skipped a beat.

Fifty years. Today must be the day.

They exchanged a knowing look… and smiled.

"Those are our old friends," Shera said gently as she rose.

"We must welco them properly. Everyone, stand. I'll tell the village chef to prepare a feast."

And so, the brothers, sisters, and comrades of countless wars gathered one last ti.

The once-mighty powerhouses of the universe, now dressed as mortals, shared a final great al.

Their children and grandchildren watched in awe. The truth dawned on them—those vanished leaders, who fifty years ago had told the universe the crushing truth… were their parents.

Joy. Sadness. Pride. Heartache.

It was a storm of emotions.

Then, the familiar mirror was brought forth.

A broadcast spread across the universe.

"We are sorry," ka began, his voice heavy, "for hiding the truth—that we were your parents, the pioneers of humanity. But if you were in our place, you would understand.

After a thousand years of war, after endless sacrifice, to discover it was never enough… To higher beings, we were nothing more than ants. Pawns. All our struggles, victories, and losses looked like nothing but a joke.

So we chose to live these fifty years as mortals. To set aside our strength and simply enjoy life."

ka paused. Around him, the villagers gasped as he and the others shed their disguises.

Their aged forms shimred away, replaced by their true selves—young, radiant, divine brilliance shining once more. Their overwhelming aura spread across the world.

Gasps echoed everywhere.

"For these fifty years, we learned. We grew. We discovered that life itself was worth living. We don't regret it. At least everyone in this universe had the chance to live freely.

But now… the ti has co. Less than two hours remain. Say your goodbyes. Make every second count.

In ten minutes, we will give our final farewell."

The broadcast cut off.

And across the universe, tears flowed like rivers.
