Shi Lang sat on the ground, and he was completely still. The night passed, and then a week. He didn't even blink, it was similar to the state where he was mourning for Alia. His heart beat had been lowered to the level where he could have been pronounced dead in the mortal world.
In the ocean before him, a few ryls watched the man from a distance, they were curious but they didn't dare to approach him. They could see that he was suffering but why he was this way, they could not comprehend.
Suddenly, another ryl appeared beside them and said, "All of you let us go back to the city. Her Majesty will be guiding you all today."
The girls smiled and they flicked their tails to dash through the water. However, only one of them was still watching Shi Lang. The newcor looked at her, and asked, "Mai, what is it?"
Mai turned to look at the person and said, "Elder, that human is sitting on the shore for a week, and I can sense that he hadn't even blinked all this ti, what is he doing?"
The elder turned to look at Shi Lang, through the water, and she raised her brow before she said, "Nothing much. What he has to do has nothing to do with us. Let's go, we cannot keep Her Majesty waiting."
Mai nodded and they left. The city of the ryl people was very beautiful, it was situated deep within the ocean and made up from coral. The size of the city was as big as so artificial city built by humans. What made this city even more of a marvel was the fact that it was all natural.
The ryls swam through the water and they finally ca to a big coral palace. The city was huge, but they only had a population of a few hundred. Most of them were young, and they were all happily playing with each other. They were creatures chosen by the Dao, they mastered the Soul Dao with a little guidance from the leader of their species. Don't underestimate them because they look young, ryls were all a few hundred years old at the least.
They gathered before the Coral Palace and bowed their head to greet a figure that swam over gracefully before them. This figure belonged to the lady who stood at the apex of the race. She was the Queen of ryls, and the strongest soul cultivator in this world. She had a figure that could enchant the entire world and her eyes were as if gem stone reflecting the mysteries of the world hidden inside them.
She looked at everyone and nodded, before she coiled her fish tail and sat down on a big shell. She said, "Today, we will learn the essence of a soul."
Then she started talking and after an hour she stopped and the class ca to an end. The people thanked her and began to practice. This was the daily routine.
...
Shi Lang was still sitting on the ground, similar to his body, now even his mind had cald down to the state where he didn't think of anything at all. He was akin to a statue sitting on the shore. The young man wasn't even moving to breath. It had been four months since he sat on the shore, braving the heat, the wind, and the rain.
...
The Terran didn't know that Mai, was still observing him. She had been coming here daily and she would observe him. Initially she could sense his gaze in the ocean trying to look for sothing, but three months ago, the gaze vanished, and last months, even his thoughts were beyond her approach. She frowned, and continued observing him before heading back to the city to train under the instructions of the Queen.
After the lecture, the Queen looked at Mai and asked, "Mai, what is it?"
The young ryl was surprised to be questioned by the Queen. She looked around and found that everyone was looking at her, and she took a deep breath before she asked, "Your Majesty, may I consult you on sothing in private?"
The lady nodded with a faint smile and said, "Everyone, go on."
The people bowed and left the place, leaving only Mai and the Queen in the square. Mai approached the Queen and said, "Your Majesty, I know that we are not supposed to deal with the humans outside the ocean, but these days, I cannot help but feel uneasy."
The Queen raised her brow and asked, "What do you an?"
She wanted to know where this question stemd from and why did Mai ntion a human. Hearing the Queen's question, Mai said, "Your Majesty, there is a man sitting on the shore. It has been four months, and he hasn't flinched from his position. Initially, I could sense that he was looking for sothing, but then his gaze beca hazy, and now I cannot sense the Dao Resonance from him either. I don't know but this human doesn't seem simple to , yet his actions are provoking my thoughts."
The Queen was surprised and said, "Well, I will go along with you to see the situation tomorrow."
Mai nodded and went back to cultivate, the next day, she ca to the palace and found the Queen waiting for him. The Queen wasn't curious by what Shi Lang was doing, she wanted to know what it was about the man that caused her one of the most talented students to be uneasy.
They swam through the water, and Mai brought the Queen to the spot from where she would observe Shi Lang daily. The Queen saw Shi Lang and frowned, however after a few minutes she took a deep breath and said, "Let him sit. Report if he is still the sa after half an year."
Mai nodded and they left. Since then, it beca her duty to co everyday and observe Shi Lang a bit before going back. After half an year passed, she sighed and then moved back to the palace, and after the class she approached the Queen and said, "Your Majesty, that man is still there."
The Queen turned to look at her and Mai told her everything, before the Queen said, "Let us go, a Supre has been patiently waiting on the coast, it is already rude for us to have ignored him."
