The motorcycle sped along, passing town after town. Except for Becky’s hotown, all the towns they passed showed signs of explosions or had been blown up in the past.

In so places, people didn’t know what happened, while in others it was very clear—everyone was tempted with Grace’s fire, which imdiately released gas and caused explosions.

Fortunately, no one died.

Unfortunately, not a single spark could be found, which astonished Sage.

The whole country was close to reverting to a primitive state.

Throughout the journey, Becky talked about Grace, who seed more detestable than the King himself.

Becky, fourteen years old, was the first in the Kingdom to attempt going to sea because of his inability to survive, and he convinced a group of people to sail with him.

However, his luck was bad; they encountered slave traders as soon as they set sail.

But even before setting sail, he was quite a troublemaker.

He was once very superstitious about that guy called Grace and followed him for a while, hoping to bring fire to the country with him, so people could break free from the King’s orders and cook freely.

Until that event happened...

"I once believed Grace wasn’t a bad guy. Although he was pretty stupid, always dripping sothing into test tubes and trying to create fire, always laughing about bringing new fire to the people!"

"But later I found out it wasn’t true at all. He did create fire, but it was toxic gas. After it caused a disaster... I was supposed to escape with him, but that guy left behind, trying to make the scapegoat for the poisoning incident while he went to the Royal Palace himself!"

"Luckily, I wasn’t deeply poisoned that ti, and everyone knew Grace was the mastermind, so they let go. After that, I returned to the town and often heard news about that guy."

"That guy went to the Royal Palace many tis, but Ferngard always threw him out. Clearly, he wants to join the Royal Palace but just gets looked down on by the King! Afterward, he beca more unscrupulous—not only was there poisoning, but also explosions!"

"That guy isn’t bringing fire to the country; he wants to use fire as a weapon, using our health and lives to earn a place in the Royal Palace for himself!"

Becky pointed to a city appearing in the distance and the enormous mountain formation at the city’s far end, like a gate, "Sir, that’s where the Royal Palace is inside."

Their journey here wasn’t long, nor did they delay much. They soon arrived at the capital city.

Surrounding the Cloud Mountain Kingdom is a mountain formation shaped like a thicker center and thinner sides, extending from the thick central mountain to a small gap at Sage’s Death Star landing point.

The thick mountain formation is a natural wonder, standing like a gate, and in front of this ’gate’ is a sizable city.

The entire mountain formation has no steep slopes, but at the center of this ’gate,’ there’s a huge closed iron gate, separating it from the city below.

It’s as if it overlooks the city outside.

As the capital, it holds one-fifth of the Cloud Mountain Kingdom’s population compared to those towns inhabited by a few thousand people.

Given its size, it should be considered prosperous, but now every house is darkening, gradually falling into the lifeless twilight.

Outside the gate, a group of emaciated people knelt, weakly bowing toward the iron gate above, begging.

"Lord King Ferngard, please, let make a fire. My daughter is sick. She urgently needs hot water for dicine; without fire, I can’t boil water."

"Lord Ferngard, I only want a bowl of rice porridge. Please give fire, just a little fire will do!"

"Your Majesty, please have rcy!"

At least ten thousand people ford an endless crowd kneeling in front of the mountain gate, and even in their weakness, the combined voices were loud enough.

But no matter how much they begged, the iron gate remained closed.

"Interesting..."

Sage chuckled, "Is that suspended door the Royal Palace? Living so high up, trying to imitate those fools? Renedia, blow up that door; let see what’s inside."

"Here I go!"

Renedia enthusiastically leaped onto the motorcycle seat, extending the chanical Hamr and aiming at the suspended iron gate.

"So noisy!"

The iron gate remained silent, but a voice erged from the outpost below.

A burly man carrying double axes erged, leading a group whose bodies and faces were obscured by black cloaks, shouting to the front:

"I’ve said it before, if you want fire, bring money to buy it! What do you think fire is? It is not sothing peasants can dabble in. It belongs to the noble King Ferngard!"

"The King is already being reasonable, allowing you to buy anything—fire, ingredients, even to beco a chef—just pay up!"

"But, but we have no money left, nothing at all, we can’t even find jobs now, everyone can’t afford anything. We only ask His Majesty to grant a little fire."

"Just give us firestones, just for three months, in three months, we will definitely study new cuisines, making the country as it was before," an elderly man with a white beard pleaded.

"Recovery? How dare you say ’recovery’?"

The double axe-wielding man sneered, "Only weakness requires ’recovery.’ Do you think Lord King Ferngard is a muddlehead? Or are you cursing the Cloud Mountain Kingdom?"

"No, no... I definitely don’t an that." The old man shook his head in panic.

"You people gathering here, forcing the King to relinquish his authority; isn’t that a curse? If the King listened to you, then he’d be the muddleheaded one!"

He drew his double axes with a sinister grin, "For those who harm the country, I have the right to strip away your rights as citizens of Cloud Mountain Kingdom. If you don’t leave, you’ll never leave!"

In the World Governnt’s jurisdiction, losing your status as a citizen ans you’re not protected by the law, making you akin to a slave.

"Without status, you have no human rights, no human rights..."

The man approached the old man, clashing his axes with a tallic sound, "Then I’ll capture you and sell you off!"

"You can’t do that. We’re just hungry, just want a hot al..."

The old man stumbled back in panic, but hunger left him too weak to match the man’s pace.

"A al? Your destinies are either being killed by or captured by ... I am now the one deciding your fate!"

Whoosh!

As the man raised his axe to intimidate and kill, a shadow zood over his head, blowing through his hair.

Boom!!

A massive explosion erupted at the iron gate above, blasting a deep crater inward!

Buzz!

The sound of wheels grinding against the ground echoed as the crowd turned to see a horde of massive motorcycles, like giant beasts, kicking up dust, appearing behind them.

"Quite the commotion..."

The leader, a white-haired man, released the handlebars but didn’t dismount, just curved his mouth into a smirk:

"Now, let’s decide destiny. I am also a person who can choose your destiny, and because I’m powerful, there are no options here with . Your only fate is to follow , work for ; this is your destiny!"

"Face your destiny straight on!"
