Navy Headquarters.

In the half-bright, half-dark office, the plaque above inscribed with ’Absolute Justice’ flickered along with the person wearing the Navy Hat seated below.

"Understood, you may leave now."

After a long pause, Akainu spoke slowly.

"Yes, sir!"

The navy officer in front of him saluted and stepped back.

Bam!

A newspaper lay on the office desk, made of so unknown material, and then both the paper and the desk were struck by a fist.

The newspaper had nurous pages, one of which notably featured photos of Sage and Weevil, along with a headline.

"The Pirate Era Has Never Ended!"

Whoosh!

As the newspaper burned, a hole lted into the desk, releasing a burst of smoke.

"Damned bastards! Damned Weevil! Damned pirates!"

Akainu bit down on his cigar, "What ’Pirate Era has never ended,’ the Pirate Era was already over with the Summit War!"

"Oh~ how scary,"

Beside him, Kizaru, crossing his legs, also glanced at a newspaper, pursing his lips in surprise, "Edward Weevil hasn’t been with them for half a year, and he’s already leaving?"

"Pirates are indeed not trustworthy," Akainu said in a deep voice.

"But we have to rely on them; pushing these strong individuals to the opposition would be scarier, wouldn’t it?"

Kizaru chuckled, "That new recruit, Fujitora, seems quite displeased with the Seven Warlords of the Sea."

Akainu was silent for a mont, then said, "Ignore him; compared to that, the disaster threat is greater. What’s happening in the West Sea...is already troubleso enough!"

Upon hearing this, Kizaru also forced a wry smile, "Being a Fleet Marshal isn’t easy."

Unlike Kuzan, that guy is considered their junior, but Kizaru and Akainu are from the sa cohort and hold a good relationship.

As a friend, he witnessed Akainu transform from the aggressive Admiral to the unsatisfied Fleet Marshal over ti.

Yes, unsatisfied.

Although there’s just half a rank difference between Admiral and Fleet Marshal, the pressure it brings is entirely different.

Admirals might also interact with the Five Elders but focus more on fulfilling the upper-level demands, while Fleet Marshals have to make all major decisions for the Navy and privately prevent interference from above.

They have too many matters to consider.

Even Akainu now is sowhat softer than before.

Not that he wants it, but the pressure and matters handled in that environnt gradually change a person.

The position dictates different considerations and directions.

Like the recent event, where Edward Weevil appeared in the newspapers, quitting the Seven Warlords of the Sea and joining the Disaster Pirates.

The Navy certainly received this information faster, but with the news appearing in newspapers, Akainu is still very angry.

Of course, that’s not the main issue; there’s an even bigger thing...

Awhile ago, there was the complete sinking of the Cloud Mountain Kingdom in the West Sea.

The newspapers reported it as a natural occurrence, with only a few brief sentences.

The ocean is vast; the loss of a country or the sinking of an island doesn’t cause much stir.

To people around the world, it’s rely a few sentences or words.

But the internal information they received was quite different.

Regarding the Cloud Mountain Kingdom, the Navy collected detailed intelligence; it was one of the nations suffering from famine, which was prosperous three years ago, yet averaged a thousand deaths from starvation each year subsequently.

Such a nation was plundered by the Disaster; he didn’t even take the treasures but instead seized the fifty thousand populace, taking them back to work on his own land.

This incident greatly shocked the Navy; throughout pirate history, renowned Great Pirates have appeared one after another, and those who annihilated nations were not unheard of.

Historically, five hundred years ago, the Ancient Giant Race’s ’Continent-Puller’ Oars was a pirate who loved to move the islands he fancied.

In present tis, the Four Emperors hold similar capabilities.

But such blatant arrogance had never been seen.

Since his debut, Disaster has risen by robbing allied nations; now, having reached the New World, he’s gone back to the West Sea to rob allied nations as though holding a personal vendetta against them.

This news was kept under wraps, and although the Navy bore pressure, it was manageable.

This Disaster, who made it onto the extrely dangerous list, is explicitly required by the World Governnt to file a report before waging war, so on the Navy’s side, the pressure lies solely on Akainu...

Yet now the situation has changed again.

The report from the naval officer earlier indicated a shift.

"How about I take so n and check it out? If you entrust this matter to , we can provide an explanation to the upper echelons," Kizaru suggested.

"What explanation! Things are different now; that guy isn’t easy to lure anymore. There was clearly an opportunity to arrest him before he had matured, but the upper echelons disagreed!"

"Now there’s little chance, and yet the upper echelons want to instigate war... It’s insane!"

Akainu clenched his fist, enlarging the smoldering hole on the desk further.

The naval officer just ca to convey orders from above, instructing them to prepare for an attack on O’hara to find a way to capture Disaster!

The reason behind such orders is quite simple.

The West Sea incident was covered up, but among the allied nations, there are powerful ones that could access this information.

There are too many factions within the Navy, and aside from those strictly loyal to the Navy, others are loyal to the World Governnt.

In terms of manpower, which entirely cos from allied nations, so are naturally influenced by their original countries.

After all, people don’t just spring from cracks in the stones.

Those nations can also obtain news and, following the West Sea incident, have pressured the World Governnt.

That’s why such orders ca about.

Akainu holds an opposing view on this matter.

For soone who adheres to absolute justice and believes all pirates should be killed, regardless of their status, it’s a truly unfathomable situation.

He cannot refuse to deal with pirates.

Especially pirates of such global influence.

But he isn’t foolish.

If he were truly foolish, he wouldn’t have plotted against ’Maelstrom Spider’ Squard during the Summit War.

He’s clearly aware of the World Governnt’s current attitude.

They don’t genuinely intend extermination; they just want to provide a satisfactory explanation to those uneasy nations.

In simple terms, it’s all a facade, a show to appease the allied countries. Success is good, but failure is inconsequential.

But to Akainu, this is absolutely unacceptable!

The best opportunity to capture Sage was when he first entered the New World and attacked the Gares Kingdom.

Once missed, it’s really missed.

Now, Sage may have not officially claid the title of a [Four Emperor], but how does he differ from a Pirate Emperor?

Engaging in war would consu an undetermined amount of forces, whereas, previously, the global draft had elevated the Navy’s prestige and strength to a higher level.

Attacking now would not only deplete forces but also restore the Navy’s prestige and strength back to its original state.

The most critical reason is that success isn’t guaranteed!

The location Sage resides in...

The route is blocked by Kaido and Big Mom.

These Great Pirates, whether Akainu or Kizaru, are well aware that, although concerned about profit, they are ultimately pirates.

Pirate actions are unpredictable and might ignore them, but more likely, they’d gang up to cause trouble.

It’s more thrilling to witness the Navy’s failure than the pirates’ failure.

The New World is their territory; a large Navy fleet passing is provocative to them.

It’s impossible for them to ignore.

This issue...

It’s incredibly complicated!

"In any case, I don’t agree!"

Akainu stood up, "I’m going to talk with the Five Elders!"
