Ekhidna smirked as she saw that Argus, the hundred-eyed giant, was now weaponless. She lunged at Argus again, her long, powerful tail wrapping tightly around his body. Despite Argus' desperate struggles, it seed futile. Ekhidna tightened her deadly embrace with a cruel smile, her sharp claws gouging out the eyes on Argus' face, making him howl in agony.
The snake-woman's assault seed to drive Argus into a frenzy. His weakening body surged with energy once more. He gathered his strength and leapt several tens of ters into the air in a single bound, crashing back to the ground with imnse force, causing Ekhidna's constricting tail to loosen imdiately. Ekhidna was severely injured by the impact of Argus' ten-ton weight, which was exacerbated by the nurous rocks on the ground. The fierce battle between players and the ignes monsters ca to a halt as both sides were thrown off the ground and before falling over, taking a mont to recover.
Argus pushed himself up, painfully wiping the blood flowing from his wounds caused by Ekhidna's eye-gouging. He then grabbed Ekhidna's tail as she tried to escape. Argus began to swing her in a circle in the air, roaring triumphantly and drowning out Ekhidna's screams.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Argus slamd Ekhidna's body to the ground repeatedly until she lay motionless. He released her tail and sat down, panting heavily. He was gravely injured from the crushing embrace that nearly shattered his bones. The players watched intently, knowing Ekhidna was not dead yet, as no white soul had erged from her body, and no mystery boxes had dropped.
Swish!
In the split second that Argus let his guard down, Ekhidna's tail wrapped around him again. This ti, Ekhidna would not make the sa mistake. She had to finish her enemy before her last ounce of strength faded. Argus stared in shock, not expecting Ekhidna to endure the repeated blows despite her tough scales being almost completely stripped away and her body drenched in blood.
Argus struggled desperately as Ekhidna opened her mouth wide, revealing long, white fangs with clear liquid continuously dripping from their tips. Ekhidna wasted no ti as she had none to waste. She bit down on Argus' rough flesh, making him scream in pain. As Ekhidna fell to the ground, dead from exhausting her last bit of strength, her bright white soul shot towards the temple. The players did not pay much attention, as they were still embroiled in their fight with the ignes beasts.
Seeing an opportunity to defeat Argus, the hundred-eyed giant, hundreds of players rushed to attack him. Little did they know, Argus still had fight left in him. As he saw himself beco the target of their attacks, Argus gritted his teeth, stood up, and rcilessly stomped on the players charging at him. The players, panicking, drew their backup weapons, mostly spears and pikes, from their bags. They aid the sharp tips at Argus' feet while archers and hunters unleashed volleys of arrows and bolts, hoping to bring him down before he could crush them with his feet.
The mages unleashed a barrage of colorful spells at Argus, the hundred-eyed giant, but it seed to barely faze him. However, the sheer number of weapon attacks from the hundreds of players eventually brought Argus down. The lee fighters sward over his enormous body, stabbing relentlessly, causing him to bellow in pain. The venom from Ekhidna's bite continued to sap his life force, amplifying the pain of every wound a hundredfold.
Argus thrashed his arms and legs, crushing dozens of players who could not escape in ti. He struggled to sit up but could only manage to remain seated. In his rage, he pounded the ground, trying to crush any players who ca too close.
"Damn, even on the verge of death, this guy is still so strong!"
Kitsune exclaid in awe.
"Looks fun,"
Chang Long's eyes sparkled with excitent, tempted to join the fray.
"Huh? That's not a good idea, master!"
Kimhant turned to look at Chang Long, imdiately sensing trouble from her expression.
"Let's join them!"
Chang Long cheerfully suggested before running off to join the players dodging Argus' fists. Kitsune agreed and followed suit, while Kimhant, despite having unknowingly reached level fifty-nine, decided it was safer to stay back and continue taking photos than running in to risk getting killed by the giant's fist.
"Devi-chan, Spirit Possession!"
Chang Long called upon Devi-chan to possess her and sprinted towards Argus, who was haphazardly smashing the ground with blurred eyes. With Davy-chan's level 100 strength enhancing her, combined with her Mystic Gust skill, Chang Long dodged Argus' attacks swiftly with ease, his fists never coming close.
Chang Long finally positioned herself on Argus' broad shoulder. She summoned Hisa-chan to stand next to her, which he did, albeit with so confusion. The other players, who had retreated beyond Argus' attack range, watched her actions with keen interest.
"Spirit Incarnation!"
Chang Long activated a newly acquired skill that required Devi-chan's possession. Hisa-chan's form gradually beca more solid until he appeared completely human, much to the astonishnt of the onlookers. To them, it seed as if Hisa-chan had materialized out of nowhere.
"Oh!"
Hisa-chan exclaid, marveling at his now tangible form. He felt the cool breeze, the vibrations beneath his feet as Argus pounded the ground, and even the slow, steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
"Give it your all, Hisa-chan. Let's decapitate this giant in one strike,"
Chang Long smiled. Hisa-chan, the young samurai, returned her smile with enthusiasm. The two concentrated and gathered their strengths for a mont, then swiftly slashed at Argus' neck with their swords. The players below saw only a flash of light from Hisa-chan's blade due to his swordsmanship.
Shing!
Hisa-chan and Chang Long sheathed their swords in perfect synchronization, exuding an aura of cool confidence that made the female players squeal in admiration. At first, it seed as though nothing had happened; Argus' neck appeared unscathed, and his attacks rely paused. The male players shook their heads wearily, thinking Chang Long and Hisa-chan were just showing off to impress the girls. But then, their thoughts changed dramatically.
Thuddd!
However, in the next split second, the head of Argus, the hundred-eyed giant, was severed and tumbled to the ground with a resounding thud. This sight stunned the remaining few hundred players. They all knew how tough Argus' skin was; it was no easy feat to decapitate him with a single stroke. Unlike other players, Chang Long was not interested in gathering the scattered loot; she was here just for fun and to test her new skills. Yet, sothing floated into her hand without her needing to search for it.
"Player Chang Long has slain the level 120 Argus the Hundred-Eyed Giant Beast King, receiving 621,890 experience points."
"Player Chang Long has received one Golden Mystery Box."
The system announcent surprised Chang Long, but she simply stored the palm-sized golden box in her bag and swiftly departed like the wind.
Players who thought of chasing her for the golden box were left dumbfounded once more, as Chang Long moved with such speed that she disappeared from their sight like a phantom before they could even take a step.
Glancing at her wristwatch, Chang Long saw it was already past midnight. She began searching for a suitable spot to set up camp. Kitsune and Kimhant appeared equally exhausted. After setting up their camp, they quickly fell asleep. When Chang Long let Devi-chan out of possession, Hisa-chan reverted to his intangible spirit form.
While Chang Long and her companions slept soundly, the ga's public communication channels buzzed with discussions. The special event was a hot topic among many players, both those who had participated and those who had not. The most discussed topics were 'Who killed Argus the Hundred-Eyed Giant?', 'Who was the mysterious person who appeared out of thin air!', and 'Who got the single Golden Mystery Box that dropped from Argus' death?'.

Siegfried and his friends had just arrived at their guild headquarters on the starting island. They, too, were reading the ssages in the public communication channels with great interest, feeling a tinge of regret for not being able to join the exciting event due to their guild duties.
"The event took place on Europa Island. Isn't Lord Chang there too?"
Peach Blossom exclaid excitedly, wondering if Chang Long had participated in the event.
"Hmm, it's possible that the person who killed Argus and got the Golden Mystery Box was our very own Chang Long!"
Oliang nodded, believing that Chang Long was the most formidable player in the ga.
"But who was that person everyone's talking about, the one who appeared out of thin air?"
Lidded Wet Trash Can rubbed his chin, intrigued.
"Black hair, dressed like a samurai... could it be Hisa-chan?"
Valentine speculated with equal excitent.
"But Hisa-chan is a spirit. If he just appeared, that might make sense. But look! The players said this man attacked alongside his friend,"
Draco countered, very interested in the two people ntioned in the discussions. Recruiting them to their guild would make it even stronger.
"Ordinary spirits that are classified as beasts can already attack players, but they usually use magic since their physical attacks aren't very strong,"
Aden analyzed, though he still could not see how a spirit could appear as a living person and deliver such powerful physical attacks.
"So, it's all just a bunch of mysteries. Why not just call Chang Long and ask?"
Draco suggested nonchalantly, as if it were the simplest solution!
"Are you crazy? Look at the ti, Draco! If you call now, Lord Chang will kill us!"
Peach Blossom quickly interjected. The group continued discussing the ssages in the public communication channel enthusiastically as they made their way back to the Starting Town, except for Siegfried, who remained silent, seemingly deep in thought.
"Hey, Draco, what's up with Siegfried?"
Oliang whispered to Draco, who was walking beside him.
"No idea. I can't figure it out either. Maybe he's confused about sothing!"
Draco whispered back.
"Confused? Confused about what?"
Oliang asked further.
"Well... We logged into the ga at eight because we had to pick up our student IDs from the university. And there, he t a girl who looked like Chang Long—beautiful, tough attitude, and her na was even Chang..."
Draco began recounting with enthusiasm.
"Really? Then what happened? Was she our Chang Long?"
Oliang whispered back excitedly.
"No clue. We got into so trouble, helped her out, and got her phone number. But the guy is too chicken to call, so we don't know if she really is Chang Long,"
Draco shook his head in frustration, as his friend was hopeless when it ca to matters of love. Whenever he was around the person he liked, he would get nervous, but he was completely different when with friends.
"Man, how old is he? Still clueless about love!"
Oliang chuckled softly, thinking that if it had been him, he would have taken the relationship further by now.
"What are you guys talking about? Hurry up. I'm about to fall asleep here!"
Siegfried snapped, glaring at Draco before walking ahead with an annoyed expression.
"Bet he overheard you, O!"
Draco whispered to Oliang, who laughed even louder, attracting confused looks from their friends. While they were discussing the mysterious person at the special event, these two suddenly started laughing for no apparent reason, including Siegfried, who had suddenly gotten irritated.
"Siegfried isn't on his period, is he? Suddenly getting all moody,"
Wet Trash Can blinked and looked at Peach Blossom and Valentine, causing them to burst into laughter as well. Aden could not help but shake his head and sigh along with the two girls. What kind of question was that!
