Special Episode: The Hilarious Love Confession Rehearsal
Once upon a ti, a woman nad Miss Pod had to leave her beloved hotown and live in the countryside under difficult circumstances. When she grew up, she returned to her old ho to claim the hundred-million-baht inheritance left by her grandfather. She arrived in a long white dress, her signature long braid flowing behind her.
"This is the place... the house of Grandma Tong, where Sompong ca to stay~"
Miss Pod—or rather, her real na, Miss Podpuen—sang in a tone so off-key it brought silence to the entire boat. Wait, was Miss Pod not supposed to be here to claim her inheritance? So how did she end up on a boat?
Whack!
A powerful hand landed on Miss Pod's head, producing a loud, echoing smack that everyone on board heard. Her head snapped forward, and the rope-braid wig she wore skewed sideways, nearly falling off her shaved head. Miss Pod turned with an angry glare toward the person who dared slap her noble head without permission.
"Oy, Oliang! Why'd you hit ? That hurt!"
Wet Trash Can yelled, completely ignoring the booming laughter of the crew from the Mariti Association, who were nearly rolling on the floor in laughter.
"You said you needed so ti to prepare yourself. And you ca out looking like this? You're an eyesore, man."
Oliang shuddered at the sight of his dear friend. The tall, muscular man was stuffed into a ridiculously tight white dress borrowed from one of the crew mbers, complete with a wig made of ship rope. And the worst part—he was wearing makeup. Where did he even get that?
"Hey, I was worried Siegfried wouldn't be able to handle pretending that a handso, manly guy like is Chang Long! So I had to dress up a bit more feminine, you know!"
Wet Trash Can spoke with a serious expression, but to everyone else, it looked utterly ridiculous.
"I think this'll make Siegfried more uncomfortable than anything!"
Oliang shook his head in disbelief, feeling exasperated. He led Wet Trash Can—now dressed as Miss Pod—to et Siegfried, who was standing dreamily at the bow of the ship. The first thing Siegfried said upon seeing the outrageous appearance of his friend was:
"Are you cosplaying as a beast?"
Wet Trash Can's broad smile imdiately vanished. anwhile, the crew, who were idling since the ship was sailing smooth at a normal speed, erupted into laughter again at Siegfried's remark.
"Are you nuts? I'm Miss Pod! Alright, let's rehearse what you're going to say to Chang Long!"
Wet Trash Can, speaking in a mock-feminine tone, swayed his hips as he approached Siegfried, who instinctively backed away several steps in fear, causing yet another wave of laughter to ripple through the crew. Even the ship's captain, who had co to remind his crew not to disturb the three n, could not help but burst into laughter himself.
"Captain!"
The stoic first mate quickly snapped him back to reality. The captain cleared his throat a couple of tis and ordered the crew back to their stations, even though there was not much work to be done. He did not want them distracting the three n who were busy brainstorming how to confess love to a girl.
Once the nosy crew had dispersed, Siegfried let out a sigh of relief. He was already shy when it ca to matters of the heart, and now he had to practice a love confession with Wet Trash Can, who had transford into the horrifying Miss Pod, who could kill with her look. His embarrassnt grew, and he wished he could just sink through the ship's floor and disappear.
"Alright, Siegfried, when you finally et Chang Long, what are you going to do?"
Oliang, who was directing this love scene, asked the hero of the story.
"Huh. Well, um, I haven't really thought about it yet. But I want it to feel as natural as possible,"
Siegfried replied shyly.
"Natural depends on how you express it, my friend. But you need a plan too. This isn't just any love confession—it's one with two goals. First, you want to get a kiss from Chang Long to break the curse. And second, for her to kiss you, you have to make her feel sothing for you. If you keep being clueless like this, nothing will ever progress!"
Oliang spoke like a love expert, analyzing the situation. Siegfried deflated, feeling even more defeated.
"So, what do I do?"
Siegfried asked, his voice weak, feeling more unsure of himself than ever. In his entire life, nothing had made him more anxious than love—and earthworms. Well, before he t Chang Long, at least it was just earthworms.
"Heh heh heh. Don't worry, buddy. I've got it all figured out. Just read this script and make it sound like you!"
Oliang laughed, handing Siegfried a piece of paper with so lines on it. Siegfried took the paper and read it. Surprisingly, it was not too bad. It was not overly cheesy or filled with ridiculous lines that would make anyone gag.
"This is really well-written,"
Siegfried complinted.
"Of course. Oliang here is the master of wooing won. He's also great at reading people. Just one look and he knows a woman's personality and exactly how to approach her!"
Wet Trash Can chid in, bored from standing around for so long.
After rehearsing for a while, the love confession practice began. Wet Trash Can stood at the bow of the ship, pretending to admire the scenery, his movents exaggerated and pretentious. Oliang nearly wanted to kick him overboard for being so over-the-top, while Siegfried stood there, trying to steady himself.
"Chang Long..."
Siegfried called softly. When the fake Chang Long turned around with a creepy sweet smile, the lines Oliang had given him vanished into the sea breeze. Siegfried froze in place, stuck like a statue for several minutes, shocked beyond belief. Finally, he turned to Oliang and admitted that he simply could not pretend that Miss Pod was Chang Long—it was too harsh on his eyes.
"Sleeping beauty... Don't you have that picture of Chang Long, Siegfried? Bring it out,"
After racking their brains about what to do next, Oliang suddenly rembered that Siegfried had a picture of Chang Long that Kimhan had secretly taken while she was asleep, which he held dearly. Though Siegfried did not quite understand why, he reluctantly brought out his most treasured photo.
After spending so ti working on Wet Trash Can's face, Siegfried finally realized what Oliang had wanted the picture of Chang Long for. Oliang had pasted Chang Long's image onto Wet Trash Can's face, using a white paper backdrop to block out the horrifying sight of his friend's actual face.
The love confession practice resud. This ti, Siegfried was able to speak his lines more smoothly, but it did not give him much confidence. When facing the real Chang Long, things might not go as rehearsed. He feared he might beco too nervous and forget all the lines, or that sothing unexpected would happen, just like it had in the past. Could he really express his feelings when standing before the woman he loved?
"Rember, Siegfried, this rehearsal is more of a guide for how to start and ask Chang Long to help you. When the real situation happens, it won't go 100% as we practiced. It'll depend on you too,"
Oliang advised as the rehearsal concluded.
"But I think the confession lines you wrote are too plain. Why not try using so poetic, old-fashioned phrases to make it more romantic?"
Wet Trash Can, still in the guise of Miss Pod, suggested as he dramatically flicked his braided wig in the wind.
"If you go overboard with Chang Long, you'll just end up getting scolded. Don't listen to Wet Trash Can. He just finished watching old show like Roo and Juliet or sothing,"
Oliang responded, turning to Siegfried as he could not stand looking at Wet Trash Can's old rmaid form, (Oliang's referral to Wet Trash Can's current state as the second form of a rmaid).
"Oh~ co on. Old movies have so interesting words. Ever heard of osculation, huh?"
Wet Trash Can retorted in frustration.
"What does osculation an?"
Siegfried asked, genuinely curious, since no one used outdated words like osculation in this era.
"Player Siegfried has submitted a request for A Kiss from the Beloved quest. Do you accept?"
The system suddenly announced to Wet Trash Can. He froze in shock, prompting Oliang to ask if sothing was wrong.
"The system just said you gave A Kiss from the Beloved quest to , Siegfried..."
Wet Trash Can replied, looking slightly uncomfortable. A kiss quest might have been fine—if it were not for the fact that it involved kissing a guy who looked like a sea monster.
"Yikes, decline it now. If you accept, I'll beat you to a pulp!"
Siegfried shouted in alarm, as he had also received the system's notification about giving a Kiss from the Beloved quest to Wet Trash Can.
"Wait, so it ans there's a keyword to trigger a kiss quest with Chang Long? Good thing we found out before. Otherwise, if Chang Long agreed to help and it didn't work, asking for a second kiss would be even harder!"
Oliang exclaid excitedly, and the two other guys nodded in agreent.
"So, what's the keyword that triggers the system quest?"
"Osculation—the old word for 'kiss!'"
Wet Trash Can responded,
"Wow, who even knows that word these days? If you hadn't ntioned it, we wouldn't have known that Siegfried's quest had a keyword. Whatever you do, make sure not to say that word to anyone until the curse is lifted. Otherwise, if you accidentally say it to soone else and they accept the quest, you're in big trouble—especially if it's a guy!"
Oliang warned sternly.
"Got it,"
Siegfried replied, feeling a bit spooked by the thought.
"Let's call it quits for now. I'm so embarrassed dressed like this,"
Wet Trash Can grumbled, getting ready to change out of the ridiculous outfit.
"Who forced you to wear that in the first place!"
Oliang teased.
"No one. Stop reminding . I'm going to change now."
Wet Trash Can shouted back, stomping off in a dramatic fashion, swinging his hips exaggeratedly as he headed below deck to shower and change. The two n laughed loudly as he left. Siegfried felt a bit more at ease now, knowing there was a keyword to trigger the quest. At least it served as proof to show Chang Long that he was not lying. Now, all that remained was to wait for the ship to reach the port on the Afric Island.
