When the Celestial Hearing skill reached level 30, Chang Long unlocked the Mind's Eye skill as well. She was not sure how this skill worked or why she had received it. Examining its details, she found that Mind's Eye was a passive skill that activated only when the user's sense of sight was rendered useless. It allowed the user to perceive their surroundings in a 360-degree radius through ntal awareness. However, the condition for activating the skill required the user to keep their eyes closed, and it would automatically deactivate once the user opened their eyes.

"Wow, that's a cool skill, but seriously, who would dare fight with their eyes closed against a high-level opponent?"

Chang Long muttered to herself after reviewing the skill's properties. After resting and eating from the Horn of Abundance, Chang Long continued her journey through the challenges of Wu Ming's Secret Training Ground, enjoying the thrill of the unknown. Ti passed without her noticing—minutes turned to hours, hours to days. Finally, the last day online arrived.

At the Pendragon Guild

Guild mbers worked together to pack up essential items and store them in a bank warehouse that Rafael had rented. Others who had been farming experience points at the Royal Cliff had returned for a eting. Only the guild leader and reconnaissance mbers were absent but would join later. By now, it was clear to them that each island would have at least three special territories available for players to claim and build their dream cities. They had set their sights on Europa Island, as it was the sa island as their main ally's guild, making mutual support more feasible. However, their concern was the Doom Star Guild, the strongest guild on Europa. If they sought to claim all the special territories on the island, a massive war was inevitable.

Apart from Europa, Rafael also had an eye on Afric Island, the second-largest island after Aris, which would open for exploration at the end of the patch update. Rafael predicted that most guilds would focus on the newly introduced islands, leading to intense competition for special territories there.

Once Pendragon had wrapped up their tasks on the Starting Island, most mbers headed for the port. They removed their guild insignias to avoid drawing attention and boarded a system ship bound for Europa. Only Rafael, who was temporarily acting as guild leader, along with Peach Blossom, Aden, and Valentine, remained in the Starting Town. anwhile, Draco, Oliang, and Lidded Wet Trash Can had already blended in with the mbers traveling to Europa.

With just 500 mbers, Pendragon was significantly smaller than the major guilds: Caesar (1,900 mbers), Dark Horse (2,600 mbers), or Doom Star (3,100 mbers). They could not hope to compete in direct confrontation, so every move required careful planning and precision. After executing the first phase of their plan successfully, Rafael quickly reported to the guild leader.

At Suvarn City, Aseana Island Kimhant and his friends finally succeeded in establishing the Professional Reporter's Association after working in secret, fearing their plans might be leaked to the existing Journalists and Writers Association before they could firmly establish themselves. They rented a dium-sized building to accommodate so of the association's mbers, the new recruits that Starfish planned to bring in. The building housed a photo developnt room and an extrely expensive mid-sized printing press.

Despite her contributions to the association's founding, Cat-Faced Angel declined to join, explaining that she did not want to tie herself down and was not skilled in news reporting. Kimhant suspected there was more to her decision, perhaps an earlier promise to a friend. Regardless, their friendship remained strong. Kimhant trusted her completely and was confident she harbored no ill intentions toward him or the association. Once everything was in place, everyone gathered together to count down the final monts before all players in Adventure World Online would be logged off simultaneously.

Longshan City, Aseana Island

Aswa sat holding his head in frustration, staring at the Pirate King's Treasure Map he had just acquired. He had tried everything—prying, forcing, and even... stomping on it—but the map would not open. Finally, a mont of clarity struck one afternoon as he examined the map more closely. He noticed faint text scrawled on it: "Only true heir can read this." Next to the text was a Joker symbol.

Aswa began to understand why Demos had previously ordered a search for places marked with the Manticore symbol across all islands. It seed he would have to follow a similar path. He brought the matter to a guild eting, where mbers argued intensely about the Joker symbol. So speculated that the pirate king had to have had ties to a circus since clowns were common perforrs there. Others suggested the pirate king might have been a clown as a side job. Still, others believed he simply had a love for playing cards. The more he listened to these theories, the more Aswa regretted bidding for the map. But it was too late to back out now; the map had drained both his and the guild's coffers. No matter the truth about this pirate king, Aswa was determined to claim his treasure.

The wait ended when his trusted subordinate reported that guild spies had discovered a Joker symbol near a secluded beach on the southern edge of Afric Island. Aswa stood, tucked the valuable map into his shirt, and strode out of the room with urgency.

Room 419, Linglan Inn, Longshan City, Aseana Island

Jane, Hero, White Tiger, Fahsai, and the Four Tao sat in tense conversation. Jane and Hero wanted to break away, but the Four Tao insisted they stay and help White Tiger a bit longer. On top of that, Jane and Hero had yet to fulfill their promise to help White Tiger and Fahsai change their profession to sniper. However, all eight of them were in a big argunt. Every ti Jane suggested going imdiately, White Tiger and Fahsai deflected, saying they were not ready yet and wanted to level up more first. This repeatedly tested Jane's patience. After a long discussion, Jane and Hero reluctantly agreed to stay and help, persuaded by the Four Tao's pleas.

.....

Sowhere on Longshan Mountain, Aseana Island, Crown and Duncan parted ways with Hero's group after dividing the treasure that Thankhun had given them. They lingered in the area, hoping to be the first to discover a special territory. In truth, Crown was not seeking a special territory for himself; he wanted to repay the friends who had helped him venture into the pirate king Azlam's tomb.

Those friends had ford a guild after assisting him and even invited Crown and Duncan to join. However, the two preferred a more independent lifestyle and had yet to accept the offer. Despite this, the guild remained open to them, allowing them to co and go freely as it belonged to their friend. Motivated by gratitude, Crown and Duncan hoped to find a special territory to give back to their friends.

.....

Troy City, Europa Island

Phiros, the leader of the Caesar Guild, was thrilled about the upcoming patch, as was his close friend Feather. After the longest guild eting in Caesar's history, they resolved to claim special territory on Europa Island. Doing so was essential to maintaining their reputation as the island's second most powerful guild.

The Caesar Guild was a big guild, well-equipped with manpower, resources, and weapons for such an endeavor. This ti, both Phiros and Feather found themselves under strict training from the deputy leader once again. Unlike previously, when Phiros hesitated to train in order to take on the role of guild leader, this ti, he was excited by the prospect of the battle to seize a city (special territory). The possibility of designing and building a city exactly as they envisioned, as long as it adhered to system limitations for fairness. Instead of leveling up in the forest, Phiros and Feather had to face high-level guild mbers in combat drills until the new patch launched.

.....

Agaz Mountain Range, Europa Island

"Player Demos has slain Oberon Beast King, level 101, receiving 1,476,990 EXP and 177,350 coins. Player Demos has fulfilled the basic requirents for level advancent and is now level 89."

The system's announcent brought Demos little joy. He had a gaping wound in his abdon, and blood was pouring out uncontrollably. Eventually, he coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground, weakened. Luckily, he had already wiped out all nearby beasts, sparing him from being sward. Demos's body convulsed as he fumbled in his bag for blood and rejuvenating crystals with difficulty.

Lacking the strength to open the jars, he smashed them against the ground, picking the crystals into his trembling hands to ingest. It took a long ti of lying still before he felt better. While the massive wound in his abdon had begun to heal, it remained severe. Breathing a sigh of relief, he knew the wound would not kill him anymore. For now, he was out of imdiate danger, but staying here any longer could be fatal. Having fought tooth and nail to reach level 89, Demos had no intention of dying. He searched his bag for a teleportation scroll.

"Long-tongued Queen Beast King, level 96, has appeared."

Demos's eyes widened in horror. If he was within 500 ters of a beast king, using a teleportation scroll was impossible. He had overlooked a critical fact: the higher one climbed in the Agaz Mountains, the more beast kings road the area. While these beasts avoided each other's territories, that rule no longer applied if the previous territory holder had been killed.

"Damn it..."

BOOM!

"There is 1 hour remaining before the ga begins updating its new patch. All players are encouraged to log off gradually. If any player cannot make it to the Player Service Building to log off, the system will automatically log you off without any penalty or loss of progress, regardless of the importance of the mission you are undertaking."

The system announcent echoed across every corner of the ga world, ensuring that no matter where players were, they heard the ssage. Many players in cities or nearby areas made their way to the Player Service Buildings in each city to log off manually.

Kimhant bid farewell to his friends outside the log-off room in one of the Player Service Buildings, as did Hero and Jane. Players aboard ships could log off from their cabins. Cargo ships and vessels belonging to the Mariti Association hurriedly docked, refusing to take on new custors as they waited for the ga to temporarily shut down for the update.

The major guilds remained quieter than expected, likely planning their strategies for the new patch. With their ample resources and manpower, they were ready to strike and conquer as soon as the locations of special territories beca known.

.....

Siegfried listened to the announcent with surprise. He glanced at Chang Long's na in his friend list—it remained dark with a question mark beside it. Despite waiting for days, nothing had changed. His own level had climbed to 80, but there was still no sign of Chang Long erging from Wu Ming's Secret Training Ground. Sighing, Siegfried realized it was ti to part ways with her once again, without expressing his feelings. He began to feel as though sothing invisible was standing between him and Chang Long, sothing that kept pushing her away from his reach every ti he got close to her. Siegfried cast one last look at the rocky cliff that had been the entrance to Wu Ming's Secret Training Ground. He silently said his goodbyes to Chang Long in his thoughts. Finally, he sealed Lycanth, then used a teleportation scroll to go back to town.

His ti of freedom had co to an end. From now on, he would have to devote himself entirely to the guild and the trust of its mbers and his friends. Any hope of deepening his bond with Chang Long would have to wait, no matter how much it displeased him. But sotis, letting ti decide matters was not such a bad thing. Perhaps it would ultimately reveal whether his feelings for Chang Long were true, and whether she reciprocated them.

.....

Chang Long listened intently to the system announcent in shock. She had lost track of how long she had been stuck in Wu Ming's Secret Training Ground. The unending darkness of this place had caused her to lose all sense of ti. While part of her was glad that she would finally see the light of day again, she could not help but feel reluctant to leave such an excellent training ground behind. With the remaining ti, Chang Long sat down to reflect on the skills she had gained and her own level. The deeper she ventured, the higher-level and more challenging the beasts beca. Chang Long had co to understand that this place followed its own progression system, tailored to match the abilities of the one training within it. When she began to land successful attacks on the beasts, they started dodging her strikes. When she managed to evade their attacks, their movents beca faster.

Most recently, Chang Long had battled a group of beasts at level 48. They were so fierce that she could not help but feel uneasy. Fortunately, they only ca in small groups of four to five, allowing her to manage. Still, her condition was now dire. Even though her passive skills had sharpened her reflexes significantly, fighting in the dark remained a challenge. Her skills were steadily improving, though not as rapidly as they had at the start. One skill that progressed frustratingly slowly was Mind's Eye, the one she had hoped to rely on the most. Currently at level two, the skill only allowed her to faintly perceive the appearance of the beasts she fought.

Chang Long continued to battle the creatures, which seed capped at level 48. Possibly because each fight was a grueling struggle. Finally, the system issued another announcent—a countdown to the ga's shutdown for one real-world day to implent the new patch.
