"Leviathan, why do you harbor such resentnt against ?"

Chong Long decided to confront it directly, realizing that doing nothing would lead to no escape.

"Why, you ask! Such ignorance, such a short mory, Azrael. Have you forgotten the disgrace you brought upon !"

The powerful voice of Leviathan rumbled, disturbing the waters around it. It was enraged that its nesis had seemingly forgotten their past transgressions.

"I am not the sa Azrael you once knew. I cannot rember what caused you such grief." Leviathan scrutinized Chong Long. Indeed, she was different. The Azrael it knew had neither this voice nor this appearance—and certainly had not been a woman.

"True! You look nothing like before. But your aura, your essence—it is unmistakable. Even if I had to wait centuries, I would never forget it. You may have changed, but do not think for a mont that you will escape my vengeance!"

Boom! The ship was struck with the mighty tail of Leviathan, splitting in two. A deafening roar echoed as waves erupted, splattering into the air. Chong Long barely managed to grab hold of a railing at the bow of the ship, hauling herself up as the vessel broke apart and began to sink.

"How pitiful, Azrael. You've fallen so low, weaker than I ever imagined. You are unworthy of ruling the Land of the Dead. I will destroy you and take that throne for myself!"

With that proclamation, Leviathan swung its massive tail again toward Chong Long. She froze as the gigantic tail descended, mouth agape.

"Missy, spread your wings!" Devi-chan's voice cut through the chaos, snapping her out of her shock in the last second. The bow was shattered into splinters, but Leviathan did not find the dead body that it was looking for.

On high, Chong Long rose above the wreckage, wiping blood from her lips as she hovered in the air. Though she had used dinsional shift in the last possible mont and spread her wings, soaring into the sky, the force of Leviathan's attack had still left her battered.

She saw Leviathan scouring the wreckage below, searching for her. Whatever past feud the forr Reaper King, Azrael, had with Leviathan was but a story thread within the ga. Yet, if it ant she had to forfeit her life here, she would not let it stand. No matter how outmatched she might seem with her level, she did not lack skills or allies. If this battle was one that could not be avoided, Chong Long resolved that whoever had to die today, it would not be her.

"Hisa-chan, Spirit Possession."

As Chang Long's voice faded, Leviathan seed to sense her presence right away. Its milky-white eyes locked onto her as its fury reignited. The winds howled, and the sea and mist churned wildly, creating a tempest that made it impossible for Siegfried, Aswa, and the captain to approach the beast. For now, they could only cling to life, trying to stay afloat amid the violent sea.

"The fog's too dense for my Vampire' eyes to work. Devi-chan, Alice-chan, guide to its position." Chong Long's voice cut through the chaos with frustration. The fog Leviathan conjured rendered her enhanced vision useless, obscuring her view of the beast. The swirling mist, compounded by the storm, reduced visibility to nearly zero.

Devi-chan and Alice-chan acknowledged her command, vanishing into the fog to locate Leviathan. Monts later, a razor-sharp gust of wind hurtled toward Chong Long, lying in wait. She twisted and dove to evade, searching for the source of the wind.

"Chang Long, over here." A faint voice called out, barely audible over the storm's roar. Alice-chan appeared briefly so distance in front of her, only for a cutting gale to slice through her ethereal form.

Alice-chan's eyes widened, start and panic evident. Then her expression twisted to that of pain. She was aching as her translucent body began to split apart under their horrified gaze. This made Chang Long realize that Leviathan's attacks could affect even spirits.

"Ch... Chang Long. I want to see... him, C... Cedric."

Alice-chan's trembling spectral hand reached toward Chang Long, her face streaked with what seed like tears. She whispered the na of the man she loved tenderly before her spirit disintegrated completely right before Chang Long's eyes.

"Player Chang Long has lost the spirit: Alice-chan."

The system notification rang coldly in Chang Long's ears, as her hand hovered in the air, watching her spirit evaporated into thin air.

"Alice-chan..."

Chang Long uttered the na softly, disbelief etched across her face at the loss of her spirit. The scene of Alice-chan's disintegration stuck in her mind like a cruel nightmare, agonizing her. Alice-chan was gone, Chang Long had helplessly lost her. Her outstretched hand clenched into a tight fist. Her body trembled from anger. Her eyes blazed with and vengeance. No matter what reason Leviathan had for slaying Alice-chan, she would make it pay.

"Leviathan!" Her voice thundered, mixed with soone else's. Sothing within her—dormant but powerful—had awakened, drawn forth by her seething fury.

Her once-gray eyes now burned crimson. She glared into the swirling fog, seeking for her foe. Sothing strange happened.

As if recoiling from her gaze, the fog split apart in all directions dispersing rapidly into nothingness. Only Leviathan's raging rainstorm remained.

"Azrael!" Leviathan roared, its voice filled with disbelief. It was as if she had turned into another person, exuding killing intent so severe that it almost choked the beast.

"You will pay for this. Constant Blade!"

Chang Long shot toward Leviathan, drawing her blade in a blur of motion while calling out Hisa-chan's skill. Her glowing blade slashed across Leviathan's massive head, leaving a deep, bloody gash. The beast howled in agony, thrashing violently. Its tail churned the waters into more forceful waves. But Chang Long was not finished. She sheathed her blade, triggering the skill's secondary strike, which unleashed another devastating slash. Blood poured from the second wound on the beast head, staining its body.

Leviathan's pained screams echoed for miles, even reaching the shores where players turned toward the ocean in confusion and fear. Though they saw nothing out of normal on the coast, they did not trust the seemingly safe situation and rushed back to the nearby towns, to ensure safety and gain information on the source of the sound.

The oddities did not end there, big group of players who had set off to the Mist of Death to hunt Leviathan found nothing. The beast had disappeared without any other sighting reports anywhere. Many hypothesized that it might go back into hibernation under the sea. Therefore, they tried to disturb the waters in the area to make Leviathan reappear.

No matter how hard they tried, Leviathan could never appear there. It was locked in a fierce battle against its sworn enemy, who was consud by fury and was now radiating the Reaper's aura that had replaced Leviathan's fog.

Chang Long did not wait for Leviathan to recover from its shock. She pressed her attack relentlessly, wielding the sharp Sovereign Sword. Her sword skills, combined with the expertise of Hisa-chan's spirit that had fused with her, amplified the effectiveness of every strike. Though her base level, even after Hisa-chan's possession, was far lower than Leviathan's.

The seawater around them turned crimson with blood. Nearby sea creatures fled in terror, and the remaining crew mbers frantically rowed away from the battle. Siegfreid, Aswa, the captain, and Lycanth swam out of the area of combat. There was nothing else they could do, other than preserve their lives, battered by the violent waves caused by Leviathan's rampage. The waves prevented them from attacking the beast as Chang Long had planned.

They scrambled for anything to hold onto, and rocks to provide so cover from the violent waves. The three of them were almost too exhausted to keep themselves afloat. Fortunately. Luck was still on their side as a broken ship's door drifted by. Clinging to it, they managed to extend their chances of survival a bit longer before they would inevitably sink to the bottom of the sea from exhaustion.

"Such insolence!" Leviathan roared, its voice echoing across the sea. The creature opened its gaping maw and spewed a dark liquid at Chang Long. Though she tried to evade in panic, the edges of her left wing were caught, searing as if doused in acid.

Chang Long clenched her teeth in pain. Her wings were numb and slowing her movents. The agony spread throughout the limb, making it almost impossible to maneuver. She could feel her strength waning, knowing she would soon fall and beco a sitting target for Leviathan's next strike.

"I will never let it end like this!" Her voice carried defiance as she forced herself higher into the sky. Though pain wracked her body, she would never give up and succumb to the hand of the beast that had killed Alice-chan. The pain did not limited to her wing, but spread through her body, straining from Hisa-chan's prolonged possession.

"Stop this, missy. Take this chance to fly away. That creature is heavily wounded. It won't be able to chase you." Devi-chan closed in on Chang Long, his tone filled with concern. She was overexerting herself. He could see the toll the fight was taking on her body. If she continued like this, she might not survive. But Chang Long did not seem to care. She pushed herself higher into the sky, her face grimacing as she suppressed the pain. Finally, she reached a height she deed sufficient.

"Devi-chan, I'm not running away until I've killed it. Infernal Demon."

Her voice was firm, her eyes blazing with determination that silenced any protest from Devi-chan. She called upon the powers of the Reaper King, activating a skill.

From her outstretched palm, five large, muscular, jet-black creatures erged, plumting toward the water below. Their eyes turned to her, awaiting her command without fear of the height they were falling from.

"Destroy Leviathan. Pierce its skull as deep as you can."

Chang Long commanded. The demons nodded and dove straight toward Leviathan, which had montarily paused its rampage to recover and heal its wounds.

Infernal Demon, a skill unique to the Reaper King profession, were brutal and rciless, following only the orders of their summoner. Their razor-sharp claws tore into Leviathan's massive head repeatedly, creating deep wounds. The demons did not stop there, digging deeper until their claws reached their skulls.

Leviathan's anguished roar reverberated across the sea as it thrashed violently, trying to dive beneath the water to escape the relentless assault.

At last, Leviathan's skull shattered, shards of bone scattering under the relentless assault of the Infernal Demon. They clawed, gouged, and bit into the legendary beast with razor-sharp claws and fangs. Even when so of them were flung into the turbulent sea, they clawed their way back, determined to fulfill their master's command. Leviathan lashed its tail at the demons in the water, lifting its bloodied, battered head high before smashing it down onto the water surface. The resulting impact sent the remaining demons flying.

It lifted its head again, slowly this ti. Its narrowed eyes, caked in blood, betrayed the grave pain. It knew it should retreat. Leviathan prepared to dive beneath the waves to escape. Seeing this, Chang Long gathered every ounce of her remaining strength and dove from the sky. With the Sovereign Sword pointed forward, she spiraled downward like a drill, increasing her speed and the force of her descent.

BOOM! The force of her attack pierced deep into Leviathan's brain. The massive beast froze in place, its eyes wide with shock. Its enormous mouth quivered as the tip of Chang Long's blade burst through its throat.

"Reaper Soul Harvest..."

Summoning her last reserves of energy, Chang Long activated a skill. A massive, shadowy Reaper materialized, reaching out to extract the beast's soul. There were no more howls of anguish—only a fleeting look of hatred and terror in Leviathan's eyes.

In an instant, the storm ceased. The howling winds and chaotic waves disappeared as though they had never been there. Leviathan's head, which had lood over ten ters above the water, fell limp and crashed into the ocean with a titanic splash, sending plus of water high into the air. Chang Long unconsciously sank into the depths of the ocean. Around her floated a blackish-purple orb and nurous glittering gold coins.

anwhile, Devi-chan and Hisa-chan were frantic. The two spirits darted around, searching desperately for any surviving players. Their hope dwindled, knowing the chaos of the battle had likely left no one alive. But they could not give up; they needed to find soone to save their master, who was knocked out and gravely injured.
