With the excitent of the flight now behind them the group descended down to the ground, not overly eager to entice more flying foes to challenge them, they had already gotten lucky to only attract a flock of 3rd tier beasts and no 4th tier ones.

They landed quite so distance from the three lakes, not eager to remain close to the domains of the resident lords there. Once safely back on the ground they made swift progress. They climbed up a slight incline, moving between the giant trees with practiced ease, having been in this region for so ti now they were more than used to the shear magnitude of the flora here. Even so it was still quite an impressive sight to walk between these giants.

Knowing that they had a gentle but sizable hill they had to traverse the group did not rush, choosing to pace themselves and steadily make progress.

They kept their senses open, all of them working to ensure that they didn’t wander into an ambush. Whilst both Violet and Lina were eager to evolve/ undergo a class advancent, that did not an that they would loose all reason and rush blindly forward, doing so would just guarantee a mistake would be made.

They naturally also wanted to avoid any 4th tier beast lord, whilst they would not be opposed to challenging a weaker 4th tier, it is unlikely that they would encounter one so easily. Best to just try and avoid them and aim for beasts of the sa evolution bracket as them.

With Violet and Luna so close to advancing, Rhyana and Susan were also feeling the need to challenge themselves so that they didn’t fall behind the duo too much. Rhyana was currently at level 73 with Susan only a single level behind her at 72. Whilst the gap wasn’t overly large it was still noticeable, especially when they were so close to that next threshold of power.

Rhyana particularly felt a bit sullen as she was quite a bit older than Violet and yet was already falling behind her. Still the blue dragon refused to be bitter about that fact, instead just choosing to focus on the simple goal of getting stronger, sothing that she was learning to enjoy thanks to spending ti with both Violet and Luna.

She would not go so far as to say that she was quite so enamoured with battle as those two battle junkies, but she did now find quite so enjoynt in a good fight.

Ti slowly passed for the group as they steadily climbed the hill. They enjoyed a couple of smaller battles, but the beasts that they fought were on the weaker side and no levels were gained for Violet or Luna. Still every bit of experience helped, and if they kept up this pace it should only be a day or two more till they reached their goal.

As the day turned to night they managed to fall into an ambush, however it was not from a beast but a monster. Not a corrupted monster but the more... natural kind, it was a plant monster, or perhaps it might be more accurate to call them nature elentals.

This particular one took the form of a wide bramble patch, when Susan got a bit too close to it as they walked by it suddenly lashed out, its thorny vines stretching forth to entrap her.

Luna who was walking besides her was able to react in ti, a swift application of arctic manifestation and ice shield slowed the lunging vines enough for the dogkin to be dragged to safety.

The bramble patch did not last too long after that, not with 4 powerful beings focusing their strength on it.

Level 78->79

Delighted with that gain the group moved away from the brief battlefield to find a suitable location to set up camp.

That night as they were in the process of making dinner Violet spoke up. "So I think we should search for a suitable location for both myself and Luna to undergo our evolution and advancent. It would be best if we found a easily defendable spot, or a well hidden one. Then from that base we can go hunting for that last level and return safely."

Not receiving any objections to that request the group ate their fill and settled down for the night.

Morning soon ca and they began their search for a suitable spot for another temporary base. After all they were unsure how long the evolution process would take, given that Violet’s previous ones have varied from several hours to several days. So it would be prudent to find an easily defendable spot for the process to take place.

The day progressed with only a singular battle taking place, it was a strange battle. They ended up walking right into the middle of a small herd of giant horned snails, they weren’t dangerous so to say, or fast, just impossibly tough to damage. Still they eventually succeeded, and it was thanks to stumbling upon them that they found the perfect spot to make a base from.

They spotted one of the singularly largest trees they had seen, its trunk was around 15 ters wide, the canopy seeming to disappear into the cloudy Skys above. What made it ideal was the fact that its mighty roots protruded from the ground in so spaces, which given the shear size of these roots created a natural cave of sorts by the base of the tree.

Seeing this the group happily explored the space before agreeing it was suitable for their needs. It was quite spacious and violet hoped that it would be big enough for her, hopefully larger size to fit within.

Still with a suitable base found it was ti to hunt. Luckily Violet had felt the presence of what she thought to be a suitable foe for her final hunt from within the 3rd tier.

Earlier in the day, and not too long ago. Violet had sensed a 4th tier beast lord, yet its presence was surprisingly weak, it felt... unsubstantial, weak for a creature of its level. So in other words, a perfect foe to battle to prove both Violet’s and Luna’s strength.
