A resounding boom echoed across the forest as the infernal balls of fire impacted with the spears of void. Rippling waves of force flattening the sodden grasses underfoot.
The magical attacks cancelled each out out, neither one being found superior to the other. Then, but a mont later a secondary clash happened.
Two illusory glaive’s and one real, impacted with the charging infernal Capra’s blazing horns. Arctic ice clashed with infernal flas, the shock of the opposing elents clashing produced an explosion of shattered air.
Luna was sent flying back from the impact, her two illusions collapsing in on themselves, the goat anwhile was only sent back a couple of paces.
The powerful beast snorted in derision, stomping one of its cloven hoofs down as it lowered its head once again in preparation to charge.
Before it could however, a barrage of void bolts flew towards it from the side, Violet having blinked there to get a better line of attack unleashing a storm of bolts. Whilst each individual bolt posed no true threat to this beast, the overwhelming number of bolts forced it to react and abandon its impending charge.
A wall of crimson flas rose from the ground, ripples appearing in the air from the walls imnse heat. The sound of dozens of bolts impacting the wall resounded like the beating of a drum.
Luna joined in too, taking a step she appeared on the opposite side of the goat from Violet and sent forth a powerful spear of ice.
The goat however, reacted with preternatural speed. A equally large spear of flas shot forth to intercept her attack, easily shattering her construct and carrying on with lethal precision. The flaming spear flew forth with shocking speed, leaving Luna almost no ti to react. With her instincts screaming she tried to dive to the side whilst summoning an ice shield, saddly her hasty shield instantly shattered before it even finished forming.
The spear piercing into her side and erupting into a conflagration of flas just behind her.
A cry of pain burst from her lips, only to be silenced as all the air in her lungs was ejected from her as she was flung towards the now charging goat.
It’s cold alien eyes locked onto her wounded body. Still that was not enough to put her out of commission, with effort, Luna drove her glaive into the ground and used her montum to launch herself out of the goats trajectory. It did alter its path in an attempt to catch her but only managed to clip her leg as she flew past.
Another searing wound now adorned her body, yet Luna did manage to land a blow of her own in recompense.
A short dagger of glacial blue ice jutted out from the flank of the giant goat, the beasts flas temporarily unable to lt her icy blade.
The goat was then forced to dive away to avoid a thin beam of nothingness that drilled into the space the beast previously occupied, yet the beam only continued to follow the Capra as it lept away with an agility that belayed its size. After a couple of seconds the beam died out, having been unable to so much as touch the acrobatic beast.
It did give Luna ti to collect herself from her furious exchange with the beast. Her glaive lted away to reform into a long spear. Whilst she may enjoy the variety of utilising multiple weapon types, Luna still felt an attraction to the simple spear. It was her first true weapon and the one she still felt most adept wielding.
She moved forwards once more, two illusions joining her as she almost seed to dance forward with enchanting steps. Each step she took spreading her domain of ice.
Violet too upper her attacks, a ceaseless barrage of bolts and spears of void flying forth towards the elusive lord. Yet she had no certainty of landing any individual attack, she focused on limiting the beast’s mobility to allow her companion a better shot at landing a decisive blow.
The two companions worked together flawlessly, Luna’s srising movents allowing her just enough wiggle room to avoid the goats vicious attacks. Any that she would be unable to block herself was handled by Violet, a tily spear or shield always in the right place to allow Luna the room she needed to keep landing attacks.
At first she struggled to deal any aningful blows, shallow cuts and scrapes being all she managed to achieve after her first few successful attacks. Yet, with each blow she landed, her attacks dealt just a touch more force, cutting just a tiny bit deeper, and leaving just a fraction more residual ice.
Still even with the duos impeccable teamwork she was unable to avoid every attack sent her way.
As she allowed her illusion to block the beast line of sight she thrust her spear forward to cut into its flank, just as the tip pierced the beasts hide an eruption of flas occoured, centered on the infernal goat.
Luna tried to step away, yet was still caught in the burst of intense heat, her pale skin singed and burnt in places causing her to hiss with pain when she reappeared by Violet’s side an instant later.
Seeing her companion in such a state angered the dragon, causing her presence to roil with power. Not delaying a mont longer, Violet charged forwards herself.
Just as the explosion of flas subsided the goat was impacted by the full force of the angered void dragon. Her onyx claws slashed down, tipped with nothingness, they shredded through the hasty fla barrier summoned forth by the goat, and slicing 4 deep furrows into the flesh of the beast, severely wounding its front leg.
With an enraged bleet that once more shook her very soul a column of flas erupted from beneath Violet in her mont of dazed distraction. The column only lasted for a scant few seconds, yet the residual heat still evaporated any rain drop that got to close causing a geyser of steam to billow forth.
When the steam cleared the figure of a singed and angry dragon was all that remained. Violet shook off the flustering heat and unleashed her own cry of rage.
ROOARRR!
The goat faltered back, not having expected the freshly evolved beast to have survived such an attack.
That granted Violet that ti she needed to unleash one of her new skills.
Opening her maw, Violet and black radiance shone from the depths of her throat. Then, with a rush of power a cone of nothingness erupted forth instantly impacting with yet another hastily summoned shield of flas.
Yet these infernal flas were unable to stand up to the power of a void dragons breath.
The cone of power eradicated the flas, snubbing them into non-existence. Then the void collided with the goat, its fur was the first victim. It was simply erased in every spot that the attack hit, then ca the flesh.
Like a wax mannequin lting under extre heat, layers of the goat were ground away into nothing.
The attack only lasted for a singular second, yet the damage it dealt was devastating. Half of the goats face, and a good chunk of its right side was simply gone, eradicated from this world and banished into the void.
A pained whine reached Luna’s ears after Violet’s defeating attack, yet it did not co from the goat. For that beast was dead, parts of its brain had been exposed and destroyed when the breath erased part of the skull. No the whine ca from Violet.
Rushing over Luna approached her companion, Violet remained in her feet only through a force of will.
Her throat had received terrible wounds from unleashing the void. Even with her natural affinity to the elent, its destructive properties were too much for a simple 4th tier beast to breathe such overwhelming power with no repercussions.
Still she had survived, they both had. Each of the companions had suffered significant damage from the short but brutal fight. Yet they had succeeded as demonstrated when a notification echoed out in their heads.
