RROOOAARRRR!
The deafening roar was accompanied with a distinct crack that sounded like stone cracking against stone. Then as both Luna and Violet looked at each other in both confusion and concern a new count reached them.
THUD. THUD.
"Well that is loud."
THUD. THUD.
"And that looks big."
THUD. THUD.
And indeed it was big. Whilst normal Orcs stand anywhere from 7-8ft tall the creature that was stalking its way towards them was almost 15ft tall. It almost resembled an orc, but with so... alterations besides the added height. The creature heading their way was mutated and disfigured to the extre. It had 2 heads, one woth 3 eyes and the other with 5 scattered about its face, multiple noses in the wrong location but no mouths of the head. No instead it had multiple mouths spread through its grotesque body. One was located at the base of its neck, one on a shoulder and more spread through its body. It walked on 3 legs with a 4th and 5th dangling uselessly to its back and side. It had 5 arms again scattered around its torso each wielding a club which looked comically small in its distended hands.
Luna backed up when she finally spotted the monster unable or unwilling to comprehend what exactly she was looking at. "What is that.. thing?" She asked in horror.
"Sothing that we will have to kill." Was Violets simple reply. Whilst the momster was still quite so distance out she waisted no ti and began to summon a void Lance in preparation. "Ready a spell, go as big as you can."
Following her companions advice Luna began by forming a ice bolt but then packed more and more ice onto it. Wanting to mimic Violet’s lance spell she elongated it and worked to keep it as shark and cold as possible. When the monster was 20m away from the pair they unleashed their spells, the ice spike was released first and the beast reacted to it by moving 2 of its clubs in the way to try and block the strike.
It was only partially successful, the spike shattered the first club and deflected off the second whilst also cracking it. But it didn’t manage to fully deflect the spike as it careened into its shoulder and managed to sink a good foot into it.
Before the monster could properly process that it was hit Violet’s void Lance arrived aiming directly for its chest in a hope to end this fight quickly. This too managed to penetrate a solid foot before it exploded with a resonant Kaboom! In its wake a crater was carved out of its chest only to reveal a horrific sight. Instead of the usual organs one might expect to find in a creatures chest, what they saw instead was a disturbing mix of body parts. Violet spotted half of a skull, a couple of stray hands and even a foot just from the first glance.
Saddly for our two companions however, whilst the damage dealt to the monster looked significant it was not enough to put the beast down. "Ohh that’s not good." Pointed out a disgusted and flustered Luna who was struggling to hold down her breakfast after witnessing the macabre scene before her.
Violet however, didn’t allow the scene to stop her and instantly summoned a barrage of void bolts and sent them flying towards the monster. Unfortunately the attacks seed to have awoken sothing in the creature as its multiple eyes flashed with a cruel intelligence and it dashed to the side before sprinting forwards at an impressive speed.
Luna finally snapped out of her shock when the monster charged and she reinforced her ice armour, hefted her spear forwards and charged the beast.
ROARR!
It let out another ground shaking roar as it redirected itself towards Luna giving Violet a chance to circle around it and began to pepper it with void bolts and spears. Luna however didn’t have as great a ti in le range. Whilst it’s disfigured body might look cumberso it seed to have an instinctual understanding for how to control its limbs and a flurry of attacks was sent her way. The beast had dropped the cracked club leaving it with 3 clubs and 2 oversized fists raining down blows in the comparatively small Arctic Leopard beastkin.
Thankfully though Luna was an expert at dodging and blocking attacks and had recently gained a lot of experience at managing multiple attacks all at once. She weaved in between the blows that rained down on her, managing to avoid each blow by ar inches. She was unable to retaliate much only managing to score so superficial cuts on one of its limbs. Thankfully that is where Violet ca in.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
3 spears of void impacted into the monsters back tearing chunks of its flesh out and uncovering more of the grotesque sight beneath the skin. One of her spears managed to successfully tear off one of its arms that was attached to its back. The monster turned to glare hatefully at the young dragon who simply flashed a draconic grin.
Luna didn’t let that chance go and leapt up onto the monsters back, taking advantage of its montary distraction and the loss of its back arm she stabbed down with all her force and a ice strike. She aid directly for one for the holes that Violet had so recently opened up on its back providing a excellent spot to dig deep and inflict so serious damage.
Roaring in pained fury the monster bucked viciously throwing Luna off her back where she impacted the ground hard knocking the wind out of her. Seeing the monster about to turn back around of her winded companion Violet roared back at the creature and charged forward sending off another spear aid for one of its heads. It managed to duck slightly out of the way and only a glancing blow landed on the head. Saddly for the monster that was more than enough for Violet’s magic to deal so significant damage.
BOOM. GHAAA.
As soon as the spear touched the head it exploded and managed to obliterate a half of the right head, saddly for our companions however that was not enough to kill it as the second head now beca the only one standing. Still Violet leapt forward activating void step at the last mont to avoid a hasty swing of a club and appearing on its back. With her claws coated in the void she began to tear into its back hoping to sever its spine. At the sa ti she began to charge up another Lance.
Luna managed to stand by that point and once more rushed into the fight managing to slash through one of its legs and disrupting its balance causing it to collapse to its knees. This gave Violet more than enough ti to finish summoning her Lance. She leapt into the air and sent her Lance forward aiming right at its neck area. As soon as the Lance was traveling she void stepped away to land in the ground a couple of ters away.
KABOOM.
The explosion rocked the ground and when they could see the monster once again both companions felt a grin spread across their faces as they watched it topple over to the ground, dead.
