Luna stood in stunned silence as the pressure descended, she felt a slightly different feeling as to what Violet felt. Whereas Violet felt nothing but love and affection radiating from the entity, Luna felt a more complex mixture of emotions. Their was a hint of anger that underlined the feelings, and Luna shivered as she instinctively knew this was regarding the fact that she and Violet were bonded.

But over the top of that bubbling anger their was a sense of acceptance and relief that she had no abused that bond. Luna felt like her entire life’s story had been splayed out before this ancient being and it was only due to the genuine care and affection the two shared that she was not wiped from the face of the world for daring to bond with Violet.

That happened in but a second and left Luna shaken to her core, but when the ancient presence spoke she began to understand, and when she heard Violet ask if the entity was her mum her heart aced for her companion and even with the pressure trying to hold her in place she stepped forward and placed a hand on Violet’s shoulder, not saying anything but giving her silent support.

A feeling of lancholy emanated from the voice as it spoke next. "I was your mother yes, but saddly I am now no more than a whisp of my forr self. Left here in the hope that you may one day arrive here. It has been a long, long ti since I laid your egg my dear."

Violet felt her eyes moisten as I shed tears ford. "H-how long ago?" She couldn’t help but ask, unable to hide her curiosity over this fact.

A deep chuckle filled the room causing the two companions very bones to rattle with the force of it. "I passed away not long after your egg was laid and I had hidden you in the chamber below. Since then... hundreds of years have passed. But that does not truly matter, no what does matter is what I must share with you. Will you accept my guidance my child? I fear I am not worthy of your forgiveness for failing to raise you myself but please allow to aid you however I can now." The sincerity and deep seated regret was almost a physical sensation and showed how open this being was.

After taking a mont to absorb the ancient dragons words Violet stood up straight and took a deep breath before she replied. "I truthfully don’t know how to feel about you. One part wants to hate you for not being there for . But the other knows that if you were, then I would never have t Luna and I don’t think I would want a life without her with ." Luna felt tears fall down her own cheeks at those words as a surge of affection rose within her. But violet wasn’t finished just yet so she held her tongue and waited to see what would be said next.

"That being said I will not turn away from you, I want to know more. About who you were and why I was left by myself. So please share what you can." Violet spoke slowly, her words carefully considered.

A since hing palpably in the air after her words but soon the ancient dragon spoke once more. "I am truly glad that you found soone worth living for, don’t ever let that go my daughter. As for my story, well I’m afraid it is both simple and painful." She paused for a mont before she dove right into her story.

"You see we dragons are both proud and arrogant by nature, because of this their was rarely any interaction between the more powerful dragons who each claid their own domains. It was thanks to this isolation that we were too late in realising the danger that the humans presented to us. They were hunting our kind down not as prey but in order to capture us and make us submit to them." The vitriol in her voice was palpable.

"I realised this fact too late to intervene and was soon hunted myself, I naturally fought back, but when they realised I would not be cowed they stoped going for the capture and instead went for the kill. Countless hunters and knights assaulted , I killed all who I could but I was growing weary. Eventually I was dealt a terrible wound as was finally forced to retreat. It was then that I learnt the terrible truth. I was the last of my kind living in freedom.

Worse I could feel my body failing and knew I could not live. I was with egg at the ti and put my everything into protecting and nurturing you. But I knew it was fruitless, so I found this mountain, its desolation of mana was both a blessing and a curse for . The lack of mana ant that it would take along ti for you to hatch, but it also ant that if I stayed I would surely perish." A feeling of lancholy and resolve accompanied the end of that statent.

"You were laid and I protected your cave. And using what was left of my life I bound my ailing soul to this chamber to wait for you to eventually arrive. Now you are here my child and you have heard my tale there is only a single thing left I can offer to you before we must part for good. In my claw you will find a ring, take it and use it well. I am ashad that this is all I can provide you but I hope that you will not hate too much for my failings." The voice was slowly loosing strength as she spoke, as if saying these words was taking all of her strength and that soon their would be nothing left.

Violet felt like her heart was being stabbed hearing those words. She wanted to shout at this ghost, she wanted to berate it for leaving her, smack her for forcing her to go through this maelstrom of emotions. But she did none of that as she also knew that if this truly was the last chance she got to speak to her mother, well then she wanted to say sothing that she would be proud of down the line.

So she tried to compose herself before speaking. "My na is Violet, I am a void dragon and the last wild dragon alive." She paused to collect her self before continuing. "Thank you for doing what you could for ."

The voice returned now barely above a whisper, its once domineering presence reduced to a shadow of its forr self. "Thank you Violet. My daughter. Know that I Moraznia the gold loves you and that never will never change."

And just like that the voice faded away. The presence vanished like morning dew and the once majestic ancient golden dragon known as Moraznia was truly no more.
