"He's not interested?" Lord Dante didn't expect such a reply from Faction Leader Bertram. He was looking forward to Grey's performance, but for so reason, he's finding out that Grey, probably one of the brightest sparks from the outside world, has refused to show them what he was made of.
Faction Leader Bertram gave a weak nod. He has gotten used to Grey by now to understand that he didn't want anything to do with this competition currently ongoing. In fact, there's a good chance that if he were not here, Grey would've wanted to leave a long ti ago. Coming here wouldn't even have been possible, if not for the fact that he had a way to make Grey co in the first place.
"Isn't there a way to make him fight?" Lord Dante asked.
Faction Leader Bertram thought for a while before replying, "Well... he might be interested in a good reward."
Grey clearly isn't one who does things that might not be of any interest to him. Since the allure of cultivating in the essence vein wasn't enough for him to want to participate, then the only chance is to see if any of the rewards is enough to entice him.
"Only those in the top ten can get a reward." Lord Dante explained to Faction Leader Bertram. "I know, I'm suggesting that if he knows what so of these rewards were, he wouldn't mind participating." Faction Leader Bertram noticed that Lord Dante was insinuating that he was trying to get him to give Grey a reward just for participating, so he cleared the air.
"You do know that we have multiple Eighth stage Sovereigns, and there are even a few in the Ninth stage, yeah?" Lord Dante understood the aning behind Faction Leader Bertram's words and couldn't help but point out.
Grey might be outstanding, but saying that there's a chance for him to enter the top ten while being a Sixth stage Sovereign in a place that had multiple Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth stage Sovereigns is quite unbelievable.
"What are the possible rewards, maybe there'll be sothing he wants among them." Faction Leader Bertram knew just how Lord Dante and the other Elders from the Pyro Faction felt as they heard his words, but he didn't care. He has seen what Grey's capable of right from the days of the battle against the Syphilis Faction, so he knew that Grey's strength shouldn't be attributed to his cultivation level.
Not just that, but he knew for a fact that in terms of battle experience, Grey is superior to these guys. He's been fighting with his life on the line for countless years now, there's no way these guys who have been kept in this prison-like world will be in the sa category as Grey. They might be powerful, but Grey can close the gap with his battle knowledge.
Lord Dante was amused, and decided to list out the items that could be rewarded if Grey were to get into the top ten.
Hearing them, Faction Leader Bertram had a thoughtful expression on his face and couldn't help but wonder if Grey would have any interest in any of these items. He paused for a while, silent. Lord Dante, and the rest of the Elders had their eyes on him, seemingly waiting for him to get back to. They could tell that he was currently communicating with Grey, possibly informing of the rewards he could stand to gain if he was part of the top ten.
The other Elders from the Pyro Faction looked at Faction Leader Bertram with so apprehension. From the group of forty youths brought by the Pyrmond Faction, only three of them managed to get into the top hundred, and other than Keith's performance, the rest were decent at best. One has to know that all three were from those in the Late stages of the Venerable Plane. No one from the Sovereign Plane has managed to get into the list.
On the stands.
Grey was thinking of what he would have potentially been doing outside when he received a voice transmission from a familiar voice.
'Aren't you going up?' Faction Leader Bertram asked, just to be sure.
'Nah.'
'Why?'
'Am I obligated to?'
'No, not really.'
'Alright.'
'I wonder if you'd be interested if you heard what the rewards for the top ten are.'
Grey's interest was piqued when he heard this, and his ears perked up.
'Oh... I'm listening.'
Grey listened to Faction Leader Bertram tell him about all the rewards, and for a few seconds, Grey didn't respond, he seed to be assessing the options he was given. He replied shortly after.
The area where the Faction Leader and Elders were seated.
"Lord Dante, I wonder if there's a darkness elental treasure present here?" Faction Leader Bertram asked with a straight face.
"Oh, he requested that?" Lord Dante was taken aback that Grey even made a request.
'Just how confident are they?' He couldn't help but wonder.
The fact that Grey was asking if there was a darkness elental treasure ans that he was confident that he would be able to get into the top ten.
Getting into the top hundred, or even top forty might not be too difficult for Grey, but the top ten is basically unachievable from Lord Dante's perspective.
Seeing Faction Leader Bertram nod his head, Lord Dante laughed and couldn't help but play along, "I have a variety of quality darkness elental treasures. If he truly is able to get into the top ten, then I'll personally take him there and let him pick anyone of his choosing." "Alright." Faction Leader Bertram knew that Lord Dante didn't believe Grey could get this, and he was even more excited at the potential reaction of these guys when Grey blew them away with his breathtaking performance.
He relayed Lord Dante's words to Grey, to which Grey received with a positive feedback. Seeing that he had finally gotten Grey to fight, he was visibly more relaxed.
