All six old n had their eyes on Grey as he walked into the place. They were all looking at him with curiosity, but as they tried to sense his cultivation stage, shock overca them. With the exception of the Old man who had dealt with Grey before, the other five were beyond shocked. They couldn't believe that soone as young as Grey could be this powerful.
Grey bowed to greet them.
One of the Old n who was dressed in green robes hurriedly waved his hands as he said, "You are our McCall Family's savior, it is us who should offer you a bow."
After saying this, the Old man took the lead, standing up from his seat, he bowed to Grey. The other five Old n followed suit.
Grey stopped them with a wave of his hands. In contrast to when the old man in green waved his hands, a few wisps of energy appeared in the air and raised the bowing old n.
"There's no need for this, since your family and my Ancestor have close ties, it's only natural I help when I see you in trouble." Grey spoke casually, keeping his eyes on all six n.
The six old n exchanged looks, each seeing the approval in each other's eyes. They each started to shower Grey with praises. This situation lasted for about a few seconds before Grey quickly spoke about the reason of his visit.
"Seniors, I believe you are all aware of my intentions of coming."
The Hall fell quiet after Grey's words ca out. None of the old n tried to answer as they as kept their mouths shut. From their expressions, Grey could tell that sothing was wrong with the final resting ground of the Vaergahl Family genius. His eyes darted around as he gave the Old man he saved the first ti an inquiring look.
The Old man looked at the others, and he noticed that none of them show any attempts in even speaking about this, with a wry smile, he replied, "Of course, Young Lord Grey is here to access the place of his Ancestors."
"And?"
"The thing is… Young Lord… you see…" The Old man started stuttering under Grey's gaze, unable to complete his sentence.
"Did sothing happen to the place?" Grey could already guess from the Old man's actions that there was sothing wrong with the place of the Vaergahl Family's genius. If that was the case, then Grey would be a bit disappointed. Although, if he can't get sothing here, then there's a good chance that he might eventually visit the City Lord's Manor again to see if he could get sothing good. Seeing a City on Raging Flas City level having only an Eighth stage Sovereign is rare. City Lord Vaughn might be said to be strong, but that's against the average Ninth stage Sovereign, and no one has even seen him in a real combat against one.
"The thing is…"
"Talk properly if you want to talk." Grey snorted angrily when the Old man started to stutter once again.
The Old man shook, but he kept his head lowered. He was genuinely terrified of Grey.
The old man in green coughed and took a step forward, "Young Lord, as you can see, the state of our Family isn't the best."
Grey nodded, hinting at the old man to continue.
"A few hundred years ago, one of the Family Heads who was a once in a thousand years genius…"
Grey listened to the old man in green's story. The genius from the Vaergahl Family ca here a few thousand years ago when the McCall Family were still a top Family in the Raging Flas Territory. Despite this, five hundred years after the genius from the Vaergahl Family died, a young genius from the McCall Family offended a rising force in the region. The genius was killed, and the McCall Family being one of the top forces in the Territory didn't take it lying down, gathering their forces, they launched an attack on this force. It was after they've already attacked did they realize that it was an ambush and there were three forces in collusion. In the end the top experts from the McCall Family fell that day, not just that, but a lot of the resources of the McCall Family fell into the hands of these forces.
A few hundred years ago, one of the McCall Family's Clan Leaders who was said a be an amazing genius suffered the sa fate as his Ancestors as he was about to break through to the Sovereign Plane. The genius didn't die from the attack, but the attackers made sure that his path to the Sovereign Plane was obliterated. With no other hope in sight, this genius started studying how to break through the seal on the cave abode. The Family Heads since the generation of the Vaergahl Family genius's death till now were all told about the cave abode, so they knew that it contained an inheritance of a Peak Sovereign.
The genius from the McCall Family thought that he would be able to break through to the Sovereign Plane after seeking the treasures hidden here. He only lived a few hundred years before he died, unable to finish his work. The next Family Head was passed on the responsibility of breaking open this place. The McCall Family hasn't been able to produce a Sovereign for a few hundred years, so they were in a state of decline. No Family in a state of decline will allow an opportunity like the one in their Manor to go to others. Unfortunately, the seal was too powerful.
Each Family Head since the generation of that genius has made it their mission to break open the seal and take the treasures hidden within it. Of all the Old n present, only the old man in green robes wasn't a previous Familiar Head.
Looking at the Family Heads of the current generation and past four generations of the McCall Family, he couldn't help but feel a sense of sympathy. This was a Family that was standing at the top of the Raging Flas Territory in the past, but now, they've been reduced to only having Peak Venerables. It's understandable that they felt that taking the treasure kept there was a good choice, especially after no one had co to claim it after over a thousand years. If Grey were in their position, be was sure he would've taken the sa decision.
"So it's intact?"
From everything the old man in green said, Grey didn't hear him talk about how anyone managed to take the treasure. If that was the case, then there's a good chance that the place was still untouched.
The old n exchanged glances before nodding.
Grey noticed that one of the old n had a hateful expression on his face, and from the mont Grey stepped into the Hall, although the old man was clearly afraid of his strength, the hate in his eyes was still evident. Now that Grey asked if the cave abode was intact, the hate in the old man's eyes flared. Turning his head, Grey locked eyes with the old man.
This old man was dressed in blue robes, his white hair had patches of black. There were black spots on his face, and his eyes were very deep, making them seem dark and intimidating.
As Grey locked eyes with the old man in blue, the other old n showed signs of panic, it was clear that they were afraid of him attacking the old man in blue.
The old man in green who was seated beside the old man on blue nudged him, taking away his hate filled gaze away from Grey.
Grey found the situation strange, "This Senior, I don't believe we've seen each other before. Why look at with so much hate?"
Hearing Grey ask about this, the other old n panicked. They all hoped he wouldn't react to the old man's gaze. Unluckily for them, he did.
The old man in blue cald himself and hid his hate filled eyes before replying, "Young Lord, I'm sorry for my negligence."
Grey raised a brow, his expression imdiately going cold, "Senior, I believe I deserve an explanation."
Grey's words were simple, but the old n could sense the authority behind it. It's not sothing Grey did intentionally, his strength is just too far ahead of these old n, so they all felt pressured by him. Any movent made by Grey brought great pressure to these old n.
The old man in blue gritted his teeth and replied, "I feel like we should at least confirm the identity of the Young Lord before anything is decided."
"If this is about my identity, you won't be staring like you want dead." Grey had a nonchalant expression on, but his eyes never left the old man, placing him under intense pressure.
