Grey's expression turned dark as he heard the na. He knew that this was definitely the doing of the genius from the Vaergahl Family. When he spoke with Sir Astarot, he found out from him that the genius' na was Jacob Vaergahl, the sa as the one he just heard.
After the na sounded in his head, he waited a little longer but nothing happened. He inspected his body to try to find the ntal energy that entered his body. From his speculation, he could tell that the ntal energy belonged to the consciousness of Jacob Vaergahl. This wasn't Grey's first ti with consciousness like these. When he completed the initial process of making his body suitable for the orb, he spoke with the consciousness of the Chaos God.
The consciousness of the Chaos God was left to give the person who inherits the power so guides. Considering Jacob Vaergahl sent word to Sir Astarot, Grey felt like whatever was left of his consciousness is most likely to help assist whoever ca for the treasure.
He was about to speak when a nonchalant voice rang in his head.
"You're not from my Vaergahl Family. Speak boy, how did you manage to get in here?"
The voice was the sa as the one that called the na Jacob Vaergahl. Grey didn't panic, already expecting this, he hurriedly bowed in the direction of the skeleton. Even though Grey knew the consciousness was inside his head, since there was no way to greet Jacob Vaergahl physically, he decided to bow to the skeleton.
He explained after bowing, "I ca under the request of Sir Astarot."
"Sir Astarot gave the opportunity I sacrificed my life for to an outsider?" Jacob Vaergahl's amused voice sounded once again.
Grey could tell that Jacob Vaergahl was incensed even though the latter hid it behind an amused tone.
"Sir Astarot was unable to get anyone from your Family who t the requirents. It was only by chance he offered the opportunity." Grey explained, not feeling pressured. Not sensing any form of malice from Jacob Vaergahl gave him the confidence that at least they could have a conversation about this.
Jacob snorted coldly when he heard Grey's words, "Bold words from a Sixth stage Sovereign brat."
"I didn't an to offend you, Senior." Grey apologized, it's not that he was afraid, he just wanted to settle this the best possible way. He still had to go out and continue studying the array formation.
At the thought of the array formation, Grey's eyes lit up when he thought of sothing. The person's consciousness who made the array was currently in his head. If Jacob Vaergahl could give him a few tips about the formation, he would be ecstatic.
Jacob Vaergahl fell silent after Grey's apology. He knew that those weren't Grey's words, rather, they were Sir Astarot's words.
'Just how much has my Vaergahl Family fallen?'
This was the thought in the head of Jacob Vaergahl. He couldn't be blad for having a thought like this. Even without asking, he could tell from the condition of his skeleton that he had died for a few hundred years at least. In over a few hundred years, the Vaergahl Family not being able to produce a genius that was at least qualified to take his treasures says a lot.
He sighed and asked, "How long have I been dead?"
Grey was inford by Sir Astarot how long it has been since Jacob Vaergahl sent out the information.
When Jacob Vaergahl heard that it had been over a thousand years, he gave a self-deprecating laugh before falling into silence once again. Grey didn't speak, waiting for Jacob Vaergahl to process the thought of being dead for over a thousand years. Taking into account how long it has been, it's enough reason for anyone to feel sad. The silence lasted for another minute before Jacob Vaergahl's rang in Grey's head once again.
"Wait… you're not from my Vaergahl Family, then how did you manage to et the requirents?" Jacob Vaergahl found sothing strange.
In the Aurora Continent, it's well known that only those from the Vaergahl Family had the ability to have their own scales. He knew how rare it was for an Elentalist from the Vaergahl Family to obtain scales even after absorbing the blood essence of Dragon. Other than the Vaergahl Family, no other Families could achieve this. The reason for this was simple; to achieve this, a powerful Dragon's blood essence is required. And this Dragon must have a very high bloodline purity. One should know that it takes a few hundred years to repair the damage done by the extraction. Finding a Dragon that ets the requirents is already hard enough, getting them to give you their blood essence is another story.
Only a family like the Vaergahl Family whose Ancestors once saved a Dragon, forging the current relationship they had today. For a few thousand years, the Vaergahl Family and the Dragons have always been known for their tight bond.
Grey's eyes twitched when he heard this question, luckily, Jacob Vaergahl was in his head and didn't see this movent, calming himself, he explained, telling Jacob Vaergahl a breathtaking story of how he was drenched in Dragon blood after a tough life and death battle.
Jacob Vaergahl was struck speechless by Grey's story. The details in the story were too accurate for it to be a lie. He couldn't refuse Grey now knowing that he obtained the ability by chance. Thinking about Grey's initial words, he couldn't help but think that it was just as Grey said at the ti, it was only by chance that he got the opportunity.
If he wasn't lucky enough to be hunted down by a Dragon that wanted him dead, he wouldn't have fought back a brutal battle, killing the Dragon in the end. The fact that a golden opportunity arose from such an encounter was shocking to say the least. In truth, Grey only managed to acquire the Dragon blood essence purely by coincidence.
