Chapter 1887: Confused Toad Clan Leader

Inner Court, Toad Clan central swamp.

Sir Astarot and his companions arrived at the central swamp a few minutes before Grey and the others started their attack. With them coming here, they would be able to see if the Toad Clan was working with the Necromancers.

The Toad Clan Leader jumped out of the swamp, landing in front of the trespassers, it snorted coldly at the sight of the Snake and Phoenix Clan Leaders. This ti, he was accompanied by eleven other Toads, all with shocking strength.

“Why the sudden visit?” The Toad Clan Leader did not bother with greetings, going straight to the point.

Sir Astarot did not say a word, casually taking a good look at the Toads present. From his understanding, these were the top experts from the Toad Clan. He did not expect the Toad Clan Leader to co out with their strongest force.

“We ca to discuss what is happening in your territory.” Sir Astarot answered shortly after.

“My territory? What could be happening here?” The Toad Clan Leader asked in confusion.

“You’ll understand in a bit.” Sir Astarot did not say anything, choosing to remain mysterious.

The air of mysteriousness only fueled the curiosity of the Toad Clan Leader, and just as it was about to explode in anger, it sensed a shockwave carrying powerful heat blow its way. Its eyes widened in shock and it turned to Sir Astarot.

“What’s the aning of this?” Its voice filled with hostility. From the heatwave it just felt, it was certain that this was an attack only Dragons were capable of pulling off.

“How is it possible that human fugitives set up camp so deep in your region and you did not take note of it?” Sir Astarot did not answer the Toad Clan Leader’s question, asking one of his own.

“Human fugitives?” The Toad Clan Leader asked, still confused as to what was happening right now.

Sir Astarot nodded, his eyes glued to the reactions of the Toads present. As long as any of them acted suspiciously, he would strike that Toad down. None of the Toads showed a reaction to his claim which gave him a little relief.

He was about to continue when a large explosion sounded from that area. Drawing his attention to it.

“What’s the aning of this?”

The aura of the Toad Clan Leader and the other Toads changed, and this ti, they were prepared to attack.

Sir Astarot was a bit taken aback by the explosion, but he did not panic, knowing everything was in order he said calmly, “So human fugitives were discovered camping in that direction. If you were a competent ruler you would have noticed them.”

“It’s impossible for human fugitives to set up camp in my territory.” The Toad Clan Leader shook its large head, turning to look at one of the smaller Toads with it, it questioned, “Did you receive any report concerning this?”

“No.” The smaller Toad replied, adding after a short ti, “But I found strange activities a few days ago, apparently so of our clansn were searching for a human boy.”

Sir Astarot’s eyes turned cold when he heard this.

One of the Dragons accompanying Sir Astarot opened its mouth, “I rember the fugitives are also searching for that human boy.”

Saying this, the Dragon turned to the Toad Clan Leader and asked, “How co your clansn were searching for the sa person as the human fugitives?”

The Toad Clan Leader froze, unsure of what to say. It did not even have an inch of an idea of what was going on at the mont.

Seeing that the Toad Clan Leader was still confused, Sir Astarot took the ti to explain to it and the other Toads present the reason for their arrival. Of course, he did not tell them of their suspicion, only saying he wanted to know how the Toad Clan Leader missed the presence of such top experts.

After hearing what Sir Astarot said, the Toad Clan Leader looked at the smaller Toad in its ranks.

“We should go investigate.” The Toad Clan Leader looked at Sir Astarot, before jumping into the air.

The other Toads followed their Clan Leader’s lead. Sir Astarot and the others did not try to stop them, joining them. The Toad Clan Leader is headed in the direction of the battle. They knew it wanted to verify the claims. None of the Toads had acted out of place since hearing the news of the Necromancers, they all had the sa reaction as their Clan Leader.

Sir Astarot wished the two were not connected, but rembering what the smaller Toad said a few seconds ago, he knew that there was definitely soone helping the fugitives among the Toads, soone among the top experts to say the least.

The Toads present were the Toad Clans top experts, all Half God Plane experts. Sir Astarot did not dare to let any of them leave his sight. From what he could tell, most of the Toads were clueless about the Necromancers hiding here, which was a good thing for them. If all the Toads were working with the Necromancers, then they would have had so difficulties.

Although they could sense the heatwave and see the light from the explosion, the place where the battle was taking place was hundreds of kiloters away from the Toad Central Swamp.

This distance was nothing to experts of this level, in a matter of a few minutes, they have traveled the couple hundreds of kiloters. The entire journey was in silence as the Toads were obviously in no mood to talk, while Sir Astarot and the others were more concerned about which Toad was working with the Necromancers.
