Chapter 1924: Strange Offer
Grey and the others did not try to argue with Chris, they knew they needed to deal with the portal before it was too late.
Grey and Void rushed in the direction of the portal while Chris and Klaus followed behind them, their intention was to protect Grey and Void as they dealt with the portal.
As they were about to get to the opening on the ground leading to the place where the portal was located, two Gnos rushed over.
“Another step and you’re dead.” One of the Gnos who just arrived declared icily as he struck out a palm made of the darkness elent.
Grey and Void were the ones in front, so they were the ones the attack was aid at. The duo did not even try to block it, using their space elent, they teleported right past the attack, charging into the opening.
The attack was left for both Chris and Klaus who did not expect the duo to vanish, knowing there was nothing they could do, they both took action. Chris’ light elent was very effective against the darkness elent of the Gnos, and since he was also very powerful, Gnos using only the darkness elent stood no chance. Besides, the Gno who attacked was only an Eighth stage Sovereign, Chris speculated his job should be to safeguard this place.
A light beam shot straight at the palm made from the darkness elent, destroying it with ease.
Seeing his attack being dealt with such ease, the Gno knew the group were not people he could deal with. The other Gno by his side was also an Eighth stage Sovereign, exchanging glances, they both brought out their Puppets.
As soon as their Puppets ca out, they both scread in unison, clutching their heads.
Chris and Klaus heard Grey’s voice in their heads, “Quick before they recover.”
Chris was already on the verge of attacking, this was not the first ti he was seeing Gnos act in this manner and knew it was Grey’s doing, so even before Grey spoke, he had already taken action. Chris was impressed by Grey’s battle IQ, the fact that even after leaving he still made sure to observe what was happening outside and helped out as soon as the Puppets ca out showed he was aware of his surroundings.
The two Gnos did not even have the chance to recover before they were dispatched of efficiently by Chris and Klaus. As soon as they killed the duo, Chris and Klaus stood on either side of the opening, standing like bodyguards. They did not need to go inside since Grey and Void were well-versed in the space elent and it would be easier for them to deal with the portal as it had to do with the space elent as well. These portals are also a form of teleportation as it could take people from one world to another in the blink of an eye.
Underground.
After getting past the darkness palm, Grey and Void did not slow down, rushing through the opening in the ground. After they got underground, the opening beca wider as they appeared in a tunnel that was only a few ters wide, and not even two ters high. Grey could barely stand up straight, while Void’s movents did not face too many restrictions. Forced to crouch, a glint flashed through Grey’s eyes as he rushed deeper into the tunnel. The tunnel had just one road, leading to where the portal should be located. On the way, Grey sensed a powerful aura coming from deeper in the tunnel.
‘A Half God Plane Gno?’ He froze at the thought of this. If the owner of the aura he sensed is a Half God Plane Gno, then going there was no different from committing suicide. He had seen Half God Plane Elentalists in action a couple of tis, and he was a hundred percent certain that he would not be able to take a single attack from them. Against a Peak Sovereign, he still had a chance to fight back and even escape, a Half God Plane Gno was a whole league above what he could handle right now.
Void looked at Grey with a confused look, unsure of why he stopped.
Sensing Void’s gaze, Grey asked, “Do you sense the aura coming from there?”
Void closed his eyes for a second and nodded, “A strong foe. We can deal with them though.”
Grey pondered for a mont before asking, “Oh, why so?”
He did not have the strength to fight against a Half God Plane Gno, so hearing Void say they could deal with whoever was giving off that nacing aura surprised him.
Void took a look at him and said, “Whoever is there is at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane.”
“Oh, are you certain?” Grey did not want to take any unnecessary risks, so he needed to make sure he reconfird from Void.
Void nodded with a serious expression. Seeing Void nodded with certainty, Grey realized the forr was indeed sure of what he was saying.
‘If it’s a Peak Sovereign we should still be able to deal with the portal and escape without any worries.’ Grey thought to himself before taking a step forward, disappearing from where he was standing, reappearing a few hundred ters away.
The further they went into the tunnel the wider it got, before long they soon arrived at the end of the tunnel that was about a hundred square ters wide, a glowing bluish portal could be seen in the middle of the opening. By the side of the portal was a Gno with white hair and beards, it was clear to see he was quite old.
“Looks like these old bones of mine will receive so entertainnt today.” The Gno remarked as soon as he saw Grey enter from the tunnel, taking a look at Grey’s side, he squinted his eyes before saying, “No need to hide, I sensed you the mont you entered the tunnel.”
Void reappeared on Grey’s shoulder, staring at the Old Gno with cold eyes. They wanted to take advantage of Void’s excellent hiding ability to catch the Gno unawares once the fight started, only to discover he already knew Void was with Grey. This made Grey turn even more serious, he knew how good Void’s concealnt was, yet he was seen through with a single glance. From how the Gno looked at a particular place, it was obvious even without sensing them the mont they entered the tunnel, he would have still been able to sense the presence of Void regardless.
Grey’s eyes trailed from the body of the Gno to the portal by the side, noticing it was a little different from the ones he had seen. Since the Gnos started slowly invading their world, he had encountered a couple of portals and none of them gave him the sa feeling as this one, proof it was on another level. Taking a good look at this portal, he could tell that its spatial wall was very strong to be able to maintain itself even with a Half God Plane Elentalist passing through.
The Gno noticed Grey turning his attention to the portal and did not make any move, letting him look as much as he wanted.
“Impressed?” He asked a few seconds after noticing Grey was still focused on the portal.
The Gno’s question brought Grey out of his captivated state, and he unconsciously nodded to the question. He could not deny it, just from the place he was standing, he could tell just how amazing this portal was, now he understood why not all portals could remain stable the stronger the individual passing through was. The other portals he had seen could be easily sealed or destroyed, this one on the other hand looked like it could take a few attacks from him before it would collapse.
The Gno chuckled as Grey replied to his question sincerely, finding this human boy a bit interesting, still wearing a calm expression, he asked, “Would you like to co with ? I can promise to keep you alive.”
The Gno’s offer took Grey by surprise. He did not expect the Gno to suddenly offer for him to go with him.
“No offence, but I have no interest in working with your kind.” Grey’s reply was cold. This was expected, after all, the Gnos were invading their world, and they had killed a lot of people. Even if he did not know most of these people, it still did not change the fact that another Race was trying to kill people from his Race.
The Gno chuckled and said, “You don’t have to hurry, after I capture you, you will have the ti to think about my offer.”
To the Gno, Grey was as good as captured, so he did not mind him refusing his offer. He found Grey interesting and wanted to take him with him.
