Chapter 1956: Fierce Battle In The Trial Lands
Grey’s figure appeared behind a Ninth stage Sovereign Gno who was battling another Ninth stage Sovereign, he was about to attack when he noticed the Peak Sovereign Gno chasing after him.
‘Damm it! Won’t he give up already.’ He felt annoyed. His attack did not stop even with the sight of the Peak Sovereign Gno coming after him.
The Ninth stage Sovereign Gno did not sense Grey until it was a little late. He brought out his Puppet to block the attack, one that was in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane.
Grey could tell there was sothing different about this Puppet. This was not the first ti he was facing a Puppet like this. The only thing he found odd was the fact that these Puppets that did not seem to have a link with the Gnos are generally weak. If not for the battle, he would have taken one and studied it to understand how they were able to still control it without the ntal link. The thought of it being the sa way the mind control technique worked ca to his mind. At the thought of this, he felt a little bit of regret that he could no longer connect with the Necromancer who created the technique. He concluded to search for him once the whole war was over. Of course, there was also the probability that he was dead. Being the one that created the technique, the chances of him creating a way to negate its effects were quite high.
The Gno’s Puppet was cut in two by Grey’s attack, which continued on its path, aiming to destroy the Gno.
The Gno did not panic, his Puppet had shaved off most of the attack power of the strike, making it not as dangerous as it initially was.
The Human Ninth stage Sovereign that was fighting with the Gno took advantage of the distracted Gno, unleashing a powerful strike at him.
The Gno was occupied with Grey’s attack, upon sensing another attack coming from his original opponent, his face paled. There was no way he could deal with both Grey’s attack and also the Ninth stage Sovereign’s attack. Not only that, he was already in the process of blocking Grey’s attack, leaving his side open. The Human Ninth stage Sovereign’s attack was precise, striking him from an angle he could not easily deal with.
Grey did not have the leisure ti to witness the outco of his attack, he believed his objective had been attained since he had given the Human Ninth stage Sovereign the opportunity to deal a fatal strike. He did not need to communicate with them. Everyone here was a seasoned veteran in war, the mont Grey provided them the opportunity, they have without fail, taken it.
The Gno was able to block Grey’s attack, moving his body in a strange manner in an attempt to dodge the Human Ninth stage Sovereign’s attack. Unfortunately, it was too late and he was blasted by the attack. Even though the attack did not take his life, he was left in a critical condition. There was no way he would be able to continue battling the Human Ninth stage Sovereign on equal footing again, and it would only be a matter of ti before he gets killed. Realizing this, the Gno wanted to escape.
The Human Ninth stage Sovereign finally had the advantage, there was no way he was going to allow the Gno escape from this place.
The Peak Sovereign Gno did not even spare the Ninth stage Gno a glance, doggedly chasing after Grey.
Grey arrived in another part of the battlefield, sending out a palm strike in the direction of a Seventh stage Sovereign. The Seventh stage Sovereign was not as lucky as the Ninth stage Sovereign Gno who was able to survive the attack. Grey’s attack fatally wounded him, before the attack of his opponent ended his life.
It did not take long before all the Gnos actively started taking note of Grey’s whereabouts, making sure to avoid him whenever he got too close. In the battlefield, Grey was like a death star to these Gnos. Whoever he passes by always gets seriously wounded or worse, killed. What was annoying was the fact that they do not notice him until it is too late. Since that was the case, they divided part of their attention into knowing where Grey was located, ensuring they did not get caught out by him. The Peak Sovereign Gno chasing after him made it easier for them to notice him.
While Grey was being a nuisance in the battlefield, Klaus and his Teacher were engaged in a fierce fight against the three Ninth stage Sovereigns.
Chris did not want to take the trio close to other Ninth stage Sovereigns, knowing their plates were already full. The Gnos still had the number advantage, if he took these ones close to others, he would only be putting them in danger.
Klaus did not want to fight with Ninth stage Sovereigns. He knew his limit, a single Ninth stage Sovereign was a little difficult to handle alone. Looking at his Uncle, he knew there was no way he could be able to help from him. At the thought of help, he looked around the battlefield, only to see Void lying casually not too far from where Alice was fighting.
He rushed in that direction, calling out, “Void, I need you.”
Void, who was lying on the ground tilted his head to look at the Ninth stage Sovereign chasing after Klaus. Standing up, he opened his mouth and spat a ball of flas Klaus’s way.
Klaus’s hairs stood on edge when he saw this, hurriedly dodging it.
The Gno chasing after him did not see the ball of flas until after Klaus dodged it. Squinting his eyes, he pushed his right arm forward, trying to use his essence to smack it away.
Boom!
The second the Gno’s essence made contact with the ball of flas, it exploded. The Gno was about to continue forward when he noticed a chilling aura coming from within the ball of flas that just exploded after being blocked by him.
The chilling aura invaded his essence, rushing into his body.
The sudden change caught the Gno off-guard, not wanting to see what this thing was, he tried to force this strange cold out of his body. When his essence made contact with it, he sensed that it started to freeze over.
‘What’s this?!’ The Gno was visibly scared, his eyes showing his panic. He halted in his chase, putting all his focus on dealing with this dreadful cold.
As he dealt with the cold, another ball was shot his way. This ti, it was not a ball of flas, rather, it was a ball of lightning.
Scared, he hurriedly took out his Puppet to block the attack.
Void’s figure appeared in front of the Puppet, and his small figure grew more than ten tis his size, before he swiped his large paws at the Puppet. The Puppet did not even have the chance to block the strike before it was sent flying, giving way for the lightning ball to continue on its path.
The Gno had finally forced the cold from his body at this ti, before hurriedly setting up a defensive wall in front of him.
Bang!
The lightning ball struck the wall, shaking it continuously.
Crack…
A cracking sound ca from the defensive wall made from essence. Seeing this, the Gno reinforced it.
As the Gno did this, a stream of water ca from below him. The water had a dark bluish color, and it was as if any light that ca close was absorbed by it.
The Gno felt fear deep in his heart when he saw this water. He had seen Klaus use his strong ice walls and could tell the color was the sa as this.
‘I must not get trapped in this.’ He knew to avoid it at all costs.
He wanted to fly upwards, only to see a rain of lightning bolts falling down on him.
The Gno’s eyes turned to Void who has returned to his original size. He did not know how such a small cat could be capable of such strength. Not wanting to be caught up in either of their attacks, he tried to retreat in the direction he was coming from.
Klaus smirked as he saw this. He had already noticed Alice, who split up from her Seelie. The Gno was caught in a four-way attack, there was no way for him to escape from it.
Boom!
The Gno sensed Alice’s attack too late and retreated into it with no form of defense. Alice might be a Seventh stage Sovereign, that did not take away the fact that her attacks were just as fierce as many Eighth stage Sovereigns, even bordering so Ninth stage Sovereigns.
The Gno scread in pain as he took the blow, his figure slamming forward, only to be covered by Klaus’s water.
