When it rains, it pours; the heating at ho broke yesterday and just got fixed this morning, and now the electrical system has issues causing a power outage for the entire house.
The house was pitch-black, so KK and the others wrapped themselves in cotton jackets and stepped outside.
Future was walking a chubby mouse on the street using a leash, and every passing girl who saw it scread.
KK and Dongdong squatted on the ground, their hands red from the cold, and played marbles absentmindedly.
After flicking a marble, KK put his hand inside Dongdong's jacket: "My hand's freezing numb, give your tail to hold."
"Get lost! You think I'm a heater?" Dongdong kicked him.
"What's wrong with holding it, it's not like you'll die!" KK scooted over and grabbed Dongdong's tail, and the two laughed and scuffled.
At this mont, the faint sound of an engine ca from above the street, followed by a gust of wind pressure.
The two looked up and saw a hovercar suspended in the air, its sleek black shell blending with the night sky, appearing extrely mysterious and imposing.
From the bottom of the hovercar, several red laser beams projected, intersecting to create a three-dinsional holographic image on the ground, and a caution line floated up, encircling an area large enough to accommodate the vehicle.
Around the caution line, holographic subtitles continuously rolled: [Black Ark Landing, Please Do Not Approach]
Nearby residents opened their windows to look, and pedestrians stopped to watch, admiring the hovercar's landing process.
KK couldn't help but exclaim, "Whoa, this is so cool, whose car is this?"
Dongdong snorted, "It's so rich person's, ordinary folks can't afford such a luxury car."
Her eyes shifty, like a cunning fox, her tail sticking up: "KK, got the guts to join in a big score?"
KK: "What do you an?"
Dongdong pointed at the Black Ark, lowering her voice: "When the car lands, we'll rush over, pull the guy out, then drive the car to the Edge's second-hand dealer to sell it, so the boss can buy a house~"
KK quickly tried to dissuade, "Don't! Causing trouble at the doorstep, you really want the sheriff to catch you?"
"You're such a coward!" Dongdong gave him a kick.
The Black Ark landed within the holographic caution area, its doors opening like the wings of a black swan.
The driver disembarked, walked to the rear door, elegantly opened it with a gesture invitingly.
Under everyone's gaze, a foot clad in simple sneakers stepped onto the ground, its rough workmanship quality clashing with the car.
As the person in the backseat got out, KK and the others all let out a huge, "Huh???"
Su Mo leaned against the car door, decidedly swishing his bangs: "Co on, give an assessnt of this car?"
All three ran over incredulously, completely dumbfounded.
"Boss, where'd you steal this car from?"
"Chief, which bigwig lent it to you?"
"Boss, wow, snagging such a luxury car!"
Su Mo almost fainted with anger: "What stealing, lending, snagging—I can't earn it myself? This is my car!"
All three let out another big, "Huh???"
Su Mo couldn't hold back his joy, arm around KK on one side, arm around Dongdong on the other, then rubbing his forehead against Future's head, saying excitedly: "Kbao, Dongbao, Laibao, we're hitting it big! From today, no more rough days for us! Hahaha!"
"Are you crazy!" Dongdong, face flushed red, nudged him lightly, "What's going on?"
Su Mo pushed all three into the back seat: "Can't explain in a few words. Get in first, I'll take you there directly."
The Black Ark left Rosen Street, flying steadily over New Moon City.
The city, shrouded in night, was aglow brilliantly; from high above it was all a splendidly alluring night scene.
Skyscrapers rose and fell in the night, dazzling neon lights ford various patterns and fonts, the traffic on the ground crisscrossed between buildings, forming a dynamic light band, rhythmically pulsating like a city's heartbeat.
The lights shone through the Black Ark's windows, illuminating KK and the others' faces, revealing the amazent and longing in their eyes.
Growing up at the Edge, neither KK nor Dongdong had ever seen the night scene from such a height, and Future, traditionally buried in the lab, rarely had such opportunities; they were captivated by the view.
Su Mo wrapped his arms around their shoulders, leaned against the window edge with them, and pointed to a nearby skyscraper: "The building without lights on, see it?"
All three spoke in unison, "Yeah, we see it."
Su Mo was as elated as a child, shaking them incessantly: "That's going to be our ho!"
"Huh?!" They were all stunned, "Which floor?"
Su Mo shouted, "The whole building! All of it!"
The three were speechless, too shocked to say anything.
Su Mo excitedly said, "Driver, let's land first, we'll go inside and look."
"Alright." The driving specialist landed the hovercar at the mansion's entrance.
The four rushed into the mansion, unlit but with external lighting making everything visible.
The lobby was exceptionally spacious, with echoes as they walked; basic renovations had long been completed, only needing furniture to move in.
Dongdong felt like she was dreaming, finding it hard to believe, staring blankly at Su Mo: "This is... all ours?"
Su Mo pointed to the ground, then to the ceiling: "12 basent levels, 88 floors above ground, totaling 100 floors, all ours! We can decorate however we like!"
Joy spread like fireworks, KK and Dongdong hugged, high-fived, chased each other around, even rolling on the floor.
Dongdong cheered while jumping around: "Boss! You're amazing! I want to live on the highest floor! My room needs full-floor transparent windows, a bed big enough to roll around on, and a bathtub for bubble baths!"
