12th floor financial office, Edge Mansion.

Ever since following Su Mo, KK has been learning about finance, administration, and human resource managent to be a good logistic steward.

However, this knowledge is quite profound. Countless college students bury themselves in their ivory towers and still only scratch the surface, only to be hit by the harshness of reality when they enter society.

KK has only been studying for a little over a month, and his brain is about to smoke, not even reaching the beginner level.

At this mont, he is sitting in front of the computer, scratching his head over a spreadsheet filled with numbers.

A finance staff walked over, looking a bit troubled: "KK, there's still an issue with the stuff I handed you yesterday, you got it wrong."

KK was taken aback: "Ah, do you an the summary sheet? I... I calculated it based on the formula."

The finance staff opened the summary sheet on KK's computer and pointed with the mouse: "Your formula was correct at first. But for this kind of spreadsheet data, you can't drag it directly. You need to set the format first, otherwise the numbers you pull down will all be wrong."

KK got a bit flustered: "Did anything bad happen?"

The finance staff sighed: "We found the issue during our review and corrected it in ti. Otherwise, the company might have lost millions."

KK hung his head, visibly upset: "Sorry, sorry... sigh, why do I never get anything right..."

If it were an ordinary apprentice, the finance staff would definitely scold them harshly.

But KK is one of the three founding elders of Edge, with seniority in place, so the finance staff could only bear it and comfort him: "It's okay, no rush. Practical work might be too early for you. You should continue to solidify your foundational knowledge first."

"Alright..." KK had just made a mistake, lost all spirit, and resigned himself to the arrangent.

He studied the materials until the end of the workday, but couldn't say he'd made any progress.

After the finance staff left, KK read until midnight, but the various formulas and cases made his head spin. He really couldn't study any further.

He had so late-night snacks and went to the gaming room on the 80th floor to try and relax.

But thinking about the disaster he almost caused during the day, and the slow progress in his studies, he was extrely anxious and couldn't play gas at ease.

He sat on the sofa, hugging his head, caught in a severe ntal turmoil.

At this mont, KK felt soone sit next to him.

Future's voice ca: "What's wrong? You look troubled."

KK stared vacantly: "Oh, am I hallucinating? I actually see you in the gaming room."

Future yawned: "I'm waiting for the computer to process so data, had nothing else to do, so I ca up for a stroll... What about you? What are you fretting about here? Stuck in a ga?"

KK sighed softly and asked quietly: "Future, do you think I should stay in Edge?"

Future was puzzled: "Hmm? What do you an? I don't understand."

KK looked dazedly at the ceiling, mumbling: "Lately, I've had this feeling, everyone around is too outstanding, and soone like just doesn't fit in with Edge right now."

"So ever since we returned from the rcenary Summit, I've been pondering... Since I can't keep up with you all, should I perhaps leave gracefully, instead of clinging here."

The gaming room was silent in the late night, only the cold sound of the wind blowing against the glass outside.

Future looked at KK, and KK looked at the ceiling, both silent.

Suddenly, KK's vision went black, and sothing furry flew onto his face.

He fumbled to grab it and found it was a plump mouse, squeaking at him.

He asked irritably: "Why'd you throw a mouse in my face?!"

Future took back the mouse, put it in his pocket, and lazily said: "To wake you up."

KK said confusedly: "I'm quite awake."

"You're considering leaving Edge, and you call that awake? I think you're crazy." Future spread his arms, as if embracing the entire gaming room, "Take a good look around you!"

"Such a big place, where you get food, drink, and a place to stay for free every day. rcenaries outside would break their heads trying to get into Edge, you must be losing your mind to want to leave."

"Besides, as far as I know, you should be the most carefree person in all of Edge. You don't need to execute assignnts, and the logistics departnt has ample staff. You have no mandatory work, you work if you want to, and if not, you can play gas all day."

"I really don't get why you're feeling anxious."

KK looked downcast, his eyes lowered and said: "It's because things are too comfortable, I feel anxious. Because I enjoy this comfort, yet contribute nothing towards it."

"Take the three of us who were the first to follow the boss as an example. You're amazing, Edge's chief hardware engineer, whether it's cybernetic implants, gene code compilations, or any other hardware app related stuff, you handle it all, you're definitely the technical face of Edge."

"Dongdong is the sa. Even though she doesn't understand tech, she fights fiercely. She's fought side by side with the boss more than once. Her strength is among the best in Edge, and many regard her as Edge's 'second in command.'"

At this point, KK showed a self-mocking expression: "And ? What do I have? Back in the day, I could barely help the boss with my skills."

"But now, with more and more talents in Edge, my minimal skills don't serve any purpose, and I even cause trouble."

"This afternoon I almost ruined sothing in finances, luckily soone cleaned up the ss. A few days ago at the rcenary Summit, soone took for a pushover, causing the boss and Ou Chenyu to fight, ending in Zhou Hanyan giving us the cold shoulder..."

Future shrugged: "But the boss doesn't mind. He never saw you as a burden, so why pressure yourself?"
