Levin Sawyer couldn’t help but laugh.

"Here, we care about who builds the best rockets. Showing off all that other useless stuff... I don’t see the point."

’She’s terrible at the important stuff but has learned a ton of useless skills.’

"Here, have so more."

Levin Sawyer picked up a few pieces of the cold, sour bamboo shoots that Sophia Shaw loved and placed them in her bowl.

So people were also interested in Sophia Shaw and ca over to chat with her.

Sophia Shaw answered every question, and each of her replies was concise and to the point.

The crowd was just taking the opportunity to get close to a beautiful woman, and Joanna Sherman obliged them.

However, Sophia Shaw’s answers cut straight to the core of the matter, which only highlighted her aura as a person in charge.

n, after all, may be drawn to beauty, but they can always distinguish between beauty and competence.

When people spoke with Sophia Shaw, they were clearly much more respectful.

Levin Sawyer inwardly smiled as he compared Sophia Shaw to Joanna Sherman.

’One is a respected figure, the other is a plaything for amusent!’

’Interesting!’

Joanna Sherman also saw the respect everyone was showing Sophia Shaw, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes.

The next mont, she beckoned over a foreign waiter.

She began speaking in so unknown language.

The waiter nodded and glanced in Sophia Shaw’s direction.

Then he turned and walked away.

A mont later, he brought over a plate of fish and placed it in front of Sophia Shaw.

The fish was seasoned with lemon, and its sweet and sour aroma wafted over.

Sophia’s appetite was whetted.

Levin Sawyer cautiously pulled her back and shook his head.

He knew how venomous the Shermans were and was afraid Sophia Shaw would fall into a trap.

Sophia Shaw just smiled.

’No matter how stupid Joanna Sherman is, she wouldn’t instigate a waiter to drug in public.’

’It would be too easy to trace back.’

She gave Levin Sawyer a look that said, "Don’t worry," and started to eat.

As she was eating, soone tugged at the corner of her clothes.

Sophia Shaw turned to see a little girl, about three or four years old, pointing at her plate.

She gently mumbled a few words in a language Sophia couldn’t understand.

Her eyes were wide and pleading, looking especially pitiful.

Sophia Shaw picked up a piece of fish with her chopsticks and began to debone it for her.

After she finished, the girl happily reached out to take it.

But Sophia Shaw suddenly pulled her hand back, put the fish back in her own bowl, and gave the child a stead bun instead.

When the child saw it was a stead bun, she burst into tears with a WAH.

Before Sophia Shaw could say a word, she was violently shoved.

A woman who had rushed in from outside the hall ran over and hugged the child.

Sophia Shaw was pushed back two steps, and Levin Sawyer had to rush forward to steady her.

As soon as Sophia Shaw regained her balance, she was t with the mother’s angry and wary glare.

Soone nearby explained, "Miss Shaw didn’t hurt your child, she just gave her a stead bun."

"My child wouldn’t cry just because soone gave her a stead bun!" the mother said stubbornly.

She added, "Does that even make sense?"

The banquet hall was crowded, and others who didn’t know what was happening also looked over.

Seeing the little girl crying so heartbrokenly, they all looked at Sophia Shaw with suspicion.

"A child gets a stead bun and cries instead? That’s a new one."

"I don’t think it was as simple as just giving her a bun. Look at her hand under her sleeve, it’s all red."

The red mark under the little girl’s sleeve was very obvious, and many people saw it.

Connecting that to her crying, the crowd easily imagined a different scenario.

’So Sophia Shaw secretly hurt the child while giving her the bun?’

The mother also saw the red mark. She pulled down the child’s sleeve, grabbed her arm, and held it up. "How can you be so vicious? If you don’t like her, just have a waiter send her away. Why did you have to hit her!"

The murmurs from the surrounding crowd grew louder.

"I can’t believe it. This Miss Shaw is so insidious."

"She looks so gentle. You really can’t judge a book by its cover."

"Such thods... she won’t even spare a child. If you work with her, won’t you end up getting done in by her?"

...

Before, they had been a bit wary of Sophia Shaw, but now they weren’t holding back at all.

Sophia Shaw pressed her lips together as she listened to the crowd’s chatter, her gaze falling on Joanna Sherman across from her.

Joanna Sherman held her wine glass high, sipping like an outsider, but her lowered eyes held a blatant provocation.

Just enough for Sophia Shaw to see.

’It really is her!’

’She’s trying to strip of my title as head of the project, using one sche after another!’

"The person involved hasn’t even spoken yet, and everyone’s already decided that Faye hurt the child. Isn’t that a bit rash?"

Levin Sawyer said coldly from the side.

Although he didn’t understand why Sophia Shaw hadn’t given the child the fish, he chose to support her unconditionally.

Hearing him, the crowd ca to their senses and reminded the mother, "Ma’am, you should hurry up and ask your child what happened."

"Well..." The woman was suddenly in a difficult position. "My husband adopted this child in Rovada. She just got back a few days ago. We don’t speak the sa language, so we can’t communicate."

"Rovadan? I can speak it."

Only then did Joanna Sherman gracefully step forward.

"She even knows Rovadan?"

The crowd was stunned once again.

"Miss Sherman is incredible! To even know such an obscure language!"

All sorts of admiring gazes imdiately surrounded Joanna Sherman, as if they wanted to fra her in gold.

The woman stepped back a little, making way for Joanna Sherman.

"Thank goodness this young lady is so capable and knows Rovadan. Otherwise, even if my Nannan was wronged, she’d have no way to seek justice." The woman shot a sideways glare at Sophia Shaw.

Joanna Sherman held the girl’s hand and softly spoke a few words.

The girl finally stopped crying and looked at her.

A mont later, she timidly replied with a few words of her own.

Joanna Sherman patted her head encouragingly, pointed to the mark on her sleeve, then pointed to Sophia Shaw and asked a question.

The girl glanced at Sophia Shaw and nodded.

"Look, she nodded! It was this woman who hit her!" the mother shouted excitedly, her eyes turning red.

Joanna Sherman gave her a look to calm down, then pointed to a man standing nearby.

The little girl shook her head.

Joanna Sherman then pointed to Levin Sawyer, and she shook her head again.

She pointed to everyone at the scene one by one, and besides Sophia Shaw, the little girl shook her head at everyone else!

The more the woman watched, the more she broke down. She jumped up and loudly questioned Sophia Shaw, "Why did you hurt my daughter?! Tell , why!"

"No, I’m calling the police!"

"Ma’am." The event organizer ca over and quickly held the woman’s hand. "Can we settle this privately? We’ll cover the child’s dical expenses and compensation for emotional distress."

This was a governnt-sponsored event; if any negative news got out, the impact would be huge.

"Who wants your stinking money!" the woman said coldly. "My family doesn’t need it!"

With sothing like this happening, the organizer would have a hard ti explaining it. He was so anxious he was pulling his hair.

"What will it take for you to be lenient?"

"It’s simple. Make this woman kneel and apologize to my child!"

Kneel?

When the crowd heard this, they were all shocked.

Kneeling in public was crueler than being taken to the police station!

"Um... Miss Shaw, I think... you should just kneel," the organizer said, walking over.

Kneeling in public is embarrassing, but it’s better than letting the situation escalate.

"I’ve looked. There are no security caras in this hall. Once you kneel, this whole thing will be over."

Sophia Shaw’s eyes swept across the room; sure enough, she couldn’t find any security caras.

’So, that’s why Joanna Sherman dared to fra so brazenly?’

"You’d better kneel quickly. When the leaders and the expert panel arrive, you won’t be able to save face at all," soone urged, their tone dripping with a ’this is all for your own good’ sentint.

"Sigh, Miss Shaw, hurry up," the organizer urged as well, glancing at his watch several tis.

In any case, whether she knelt or not, Sophia Shaw would be blacklisted by the governnt.

Her chances of heading another project in the future would be zero!

Two bodyguards ran out from behind the woman and seized Sophia Shaw.

Since it appeared Sophia Shaw had been the aggressor, no one at the scene spoke up for her, nor did anyone try to stop it.

One of the bodyguards viciously kicked the back of Sophia Shaw’s knee.
