Joanna Sherman propped her chin on one hand, letting her wavy hair fall to her side. Her other hand was scrolling on a screen. She raised an eyebrow and glanced at the screen, just in ti to see Bun acting silly. She coldly looked away.

SLAM. She snapped the tablet shut and stood up. "Do you think I’m her? Worthless, only able to make money through underhanded thods?!"

"First she relies on a man, and now she’s using her daughter for clout. It’s so low-class!"

She, Joanna Sherman, was a person of true talent. She didn’t need such superficial stunts to keep up appearances!

With that, she turned and walked away.

Yvonne Sherman shook her head helplessly.

’My daughter is a bit too arrogant,’ she thought to herself.

It was a good thing to be talented.

’But in this day and age, even the finest wine needs advertising.’

If she could just swallow her pride like Sophia Shaw and was willing to appear on cara with her daughter, she’d surely earn several tis what Sophia was making.

The first person to launch a rocket for Cathan, plus a cute daughter.

That character combination would be unbeatable!

’Sigh, what a sha.’

Chad Jennings ca out carrying a platter of fruit, only to see Joanna Sherman’s departing back.

"She hasn’t eaten her fruit yet. Why’d she leave?"

Yvonne Sherman sighed again and tossed her phone onto the table.

"I saw that Sophia Shaw’s livestreams with her daughter are really popular, so I suggested she do the sa. She refused no matter what I said. Now she’s stord off in a huff, see?"

"It’s normal for a girl to have a bit of a temper." Chad Jennings had always doted on Joanna Sherman and was very partial to her.

As he put down the fruit platter, he picked up the phone Yvonne Sherman had tossed on the table.

One look and he was floored!

He was nearly knocked dizzy by the dazzling display of donations!

Then he looked at the viewership data.

He sucked in a sharp breath.

"She has ten million viewers?"

"It was just over two million a mont ago," Yvonne Sherman said sourly.

In just a few minutes, two million had turned into ten million. How much would she earn in one night!

Chad Jennings stared at the numbers on the screen. ’These aren’t ten million people, they’re ten million walking ATMs!’

’Sophia Shaw has hit the jackpot!’

"That bitch is clever! To think of such a brilliant way to make money!"

’Just as you’d expect from Brianna Shaw’s daughter. She inherited her mother’s head for business.’

Chad Jennings was even more jealous than Yvonne Sherman.

’If I had known this daughter was so capable, I would never have let Yancy Shaw take her away!’

Chad Jennings was used to leeching off others. Only after Brianna Shaw died did he realize how difficult business was.

He couldn’t handle hardship, and he lost money on every venture he tried with the funds he had secretly transferred from Brianna Shaw.

The businesses that had run so smoothly for Brianna Shaw seed cursed in his hands; they just wouldn’t bring in any money!

Ever since their livestream channel got shut down, none of the new accounts they opened managed to take off.

Vincent Grant had helped pay off their debts, but it was hard to sustain a lifestyle with only expenses and no inco.

’Sigh, if only I could get Sophia Shaw under my thumb!’

Sophia Shaw’s days were a tense and busy blur.

In the blink of an eye, the final seventh day of Skye Sutton’s mourning period arrived.

She hadn’t appeared for the first, second, or any of the other seventh-day ceremonies for Skye Sutton, because she didn’t want to see Vincent Grant.

The final seventh day, also known as the "full seventh."

According to Crestfall tradition, after today, the deceased would have completed their forty-nine-day transition period and officially enter the cycle of reincarnation.

The living would take off their mourning clothes, and life would return to normal.

It was ti to handle the divorce with Vincent Grant.

By her calculations, Vincent Grant should have been away from the Grant Family for over ten days now.

The two of them hadn’t contacted each other at all.

Sophia Shaw bought a bouquet of flowers and went to the cetery.

Although the Sutton brothers had no deep feelings for Skye Sutton, they had still hired monks and Taoist priests to chant scriptures for her, a symbolic gesture to guide her soul.

It wasn’t appropriate for the Grants to be too involved, so they only sent Vincent Grant, the one who handled business matters.

Sophia Shaw saw him as soon as she entered the cetery.

He stood out among the group of Suttons.

His face was chiseled, his brows sharp. His short, ink-black hair was combed immaculately, and his black clothes made his skin look coldly pale.

Even though he hadn’t had an easy ti lately, the aristocratic air about him hadn’t diminished in the slightest; in fact, it had grown even stronger.

He had gotten thinner.

When he saw Sophia Shaw, the man’s gaze shifted to her.

His deep eyes were like still water.

Sophia Shaw had expected him to ignore her as he always had. Being locked in his gaze now was sowhat surprising.

But it was only a surprise.

Her impassive gaze t his in the air for less than a second before she looked away.

She walked over to stand beside him, her expression blank.

No matter how unwilling she was to be near him, she had to see this final ceremony through.

When the ceremony to guide the soul was over, it was still early.

Sophia Shaw glanced at her watch. It was just after four o’clock.

Plenty of ti to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau and get a divorce certificate.

"Shall we go together?" Vincent Grant asked.

"Yes."

She nodded.

’Of course we have to go together for a divorce.’

The two of them walked down the hill side by side.

She was leaving with nothing, so there were no property issues entangled with Vincent Grant. The only thing connecting them was their two children.

Although it was already decided, Sophia Shaw reminded him again, "From now on, you’ll be responsible for Cedric. We’ll each take one child."

"Are you sure you don’t want Cedric?" Vincent Grant asked, rubbing his brow with a slight, unreadable smile.

"Yes."

’Anyone whose heart isn’t with , I don’t want them—child or adult.’

"I imagine Cedric prefers his Auntie Joanna anyway. I’m sure he’ll be very happy living with her in the future."

The corner of Vincent Grant’s mouth curved into a smile of helpless indulgence, as if she were throwing a tantrum.

"Cedric is a child. He’ll need his mother until he’s grown."

"You can’t just abandon him to soone else. No matter how much he likes Joanna, she isn’t his mother."

"You have to take responsibility for the children you bring into this world, don’t you?"

"Responsibility?" Sophia Shaw almost snorted with laughter when she heard that.

She desperately wanted to ask him: ’When Bun was born, did *you* take responsibility?’

’But then again,’ she thought, ’we’re about to get divorced. There’s no need to argue about these things anymore.’

She only said, "Vincent Grant, let’s not change what’s already been decided."

When she had first shown him the agreent she drafted, he hadn’t raised any objections, which ant he accepted all its terms.

Vincent Grant had never returned the signed divorce agreent to her. Fortunately, she always kept a spare in her bag.

Sophia Shaw took out the agreent she had signed. "Could you please..."

"Mr. Shaw!"

Jacobs ran over, her face anxious, and pulled at her arm.

Seeing Vincent Grant was there, she swallowed the words she was about to say and just blurted out, "It’s an ergency!"

Sophia Shaw saw the look on her face and knew sothing serious must have happened.

She quickly shoved the agreent into his hand. "Please have soone take care of this. Just get the certificate directly."

She had already signed the agreent. With Vincent Grant’s connections, they could get the divorce certificate even without both parties being present.

After saying this, Sophia Shaw followed Jacobs out.

When they reached the car, Sophia Shaw finally asked, "What on earth happened?"

Jacobs said, "Soone must have leaked the news that President Sawyer isn’t coming back. Just now, Mr. Owen from Interlink brought several other bosses from the satellite project consortium to the office looking for you. The situation didn’t look good, and I was afraid there’d be trouble, so I rushed over to let you know."

Jacobs had barely finished speaking when a voice barked, "Miss Shaw!"

The two of them turned their heads to see Mr. Owen leading several people toward them. They walked with large, rapid, forceful strides, looking aggressive.

Mr. Owen was at the front. In just a few steps, he was in front of Sophia Shaw. "Miss Shaw, I heard President Sawyer is trapped in the desert and can’t return. Is it true this project is now your full responsibility?"

He couldn’t even be bothered to call her Mr. Shaw, addressing her directly as Miss Shaw.

He clearly didn’t see Sophia Shaw as an important figure in the company at all.
