Odian carried all the children into his room. They sat clustered on his bed, their bright eyes wandering curiously around the unfamiliar space.

Yinny tugged at his sleeve. Father Odian, why did you bring us here?

"You’ll be sleeping in my room tonight," Odian said gently.

Didi tilted their head, puzzled. Why? Where’s Mother?

"She..."

Before he could answer, Nina stepped in.

"Alright, little ones, ti for bed. Lie down nicely."

The mont they saw her, the children obediently settled under the covers.

As long as their mother was there, it didn’t matter where they slept.

Odian smiled faintly, and together, he and Nina soothed them to sleep.

anwhile, in Nina’s room, Mino waited, both nervous and full of anticipation.

He kept replaying everything Ming had taught him, afraid he might ss up.

Once the children were asleep, Nina returned.

Mino stood up imdiately, hands clenched slightly.

"Nina... are the children asleep?"

"Mm." She walked over and sat on the bed.

Mino moved closer, wrapping his arms around her from behind, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder.

"Nina... am I dreaming?"

Happiness swelled in his chest, so overwhelming it felt unreal.

Nina laughed softly and leaned back into him, returning the embrace.

"Of course not. It’s all real."

He held her tighter, a shy warmth coloring his voice. "Nina... it’s my first ti. If I don’t do well... please don’t be upset."

His lips brushed softly against her pale neck. "I’ll learn... I’ll make sure to do better."

"It’s alright," Nina said gently, turning to face him and wrapping her arms around him. "I’ll teach you."

She leaned in and kissed him, guiding him down.

Mino responded instinctively, holding her close, his movents hesitant at first, then gradually more assured.

The firelight flickered softly.

On the wall, their shadows intertwined—shifting, rging, parting again in the wavering glow.

The quiet rhythm of breath and warmth lingered through the night.

By morning, Mino still held Nina in his arms, sleeping deeply, a faint, satisfied smile resting on his lips.

Nina slowly opened her eyes and shifted slightly.

The movent woke him almost instantly.

"Nina, you’re awake. Do you want to sleep a little longer?"

He looked at her with concern.

The night before, he had lost himself a little—she hadn’t rested much.

Nina shook her head.

"Let’s get up. I’m a little hungry."

"Alright—I’ll help you get dressed."

Mino quickly rose, carefully helping her with her clothes, then carried her to wash up.

By the ti they ca out, Odian and the others had already prepared breakfast.

They had been waiting—only starting once Nina arrived.

"Nina, you’re up!"

Ming walked over, carrying the little one in his arms. The mont he saw the mark on Mino’s forehead, satisfaction flickered in his eyes.

Good. The brat didn’t disappoint. Now he could finally rest easy.

"Nina, this is a small gift for your bonding," Ming said warmly, handing over a large pouch of beast crystals. "I didn’t bring much while traveling—just a token. I hope you won’t mind."

"Oh, you don’t have to—" Nina began.

"Nina," Ming interrupted with a smile, "you should call Father now. It’s just a small gesture. Don’t be polite with your own family."

He pressed the pouch into her hands.

Mino glanced at it—there were quite a few high-grade crystals.

At least Father isn’t being stingy.

"...Alright then." Nina accepted it, a little embarrassed. "Thank you, Father."

"Ah—good, good!" Ming’s smile widened at the word. "After breakfast, could you teach how to braid her hair? She keeps saying mine looks ugly."

Nina laughed.

"Of course. After I eat, we’ll do her hair together."

Nearby, Taru and Aron watched enviously.

When will we get to hear her call us Father...?

They each shot their own sons a glare.

Useless brats.

Taru turned to Didi for comfort—at least he still had a grandchild.

Aron, on the other hand, could only roll his eyes at Yanai.

If only he had a grandchild too...

Didi finished drinking milk and toddled out into the courtyard. Taru quickly followed to keep them company.

After a few days together—and with daily gifts—Didi had finally ward up to him.

Once Nina finished eating, she went with Ming to braid the little one’s hair.

Mino stood nearby, watching closely. He wanted to learn too.

Lex lingered off to the side, quietly observing as well.

Perhaps one day, he would be able to help too.

For now, his role was simple: to provide seawater for her every day.

The rfolk rested their chins in their hands, gazing at Nina and the child with dreamy admiration.

Life like this... is truly wonderful.

Elsewhere, Aron dragged Yanai into the kitchen.

"You—practice your cooking properly," he ordered. "Look at Mino. Learn from him."

"...I know." Yanai glanced at the mark on Mino’s forehead, a flicker of envy passing through his eyes. "I’ll work hard."

If Mino could do it, so could he.

"And desserts. Nina likes sweets—learn those well too."

Aron had already gathered information about Nina’s preferences the day before.

He shoved a large basket of eggs into Yanai’s hands.

"Finish all of these today."

Yanai stared at the overflowing basket.

Then, silently, he steeled himself.

For Nina... I’ll do it.

And so, he began practicing with determination.

Elsewhere, Aviel dragged Linny back into a room, pressing him for strategies.

Kith and Finch were no less diligent—one focused on making shoes, the other on sewing clothes.

No one dared fall behind.

At noon, Nina lay down for a nap with the children.

She slept on her side, while the little ones sprawled in all directions across the bed, a chaotic yet peaceful scene.

Yanai slipped out and returned not long after, carrying a large bouquet of wildflowers in every shade imaginable, their fragrance soft and sweet.

Knowing Nina was resting, he entered quietly.

He arranged the flowers carefully in a vase, adjusting each stem until it ford a pleasing shape.

Soon, the room was filled with a gentle floral scent.

But even after finishing, he couldn’t bring himself to leave. His gaze drifted toward Nina.

One look—and he couldn’t look away.

Her lashes were long. Her nose delicate. Her lips... Full. Soft. Radiant.

His eyes darkened slightly. His throat tightened. His heartbeat quickened.

As if drawn by sothing irresistible, he leaned in slowly, unable to stop himself.

Just as he was about to touch her, sothing round ca hurtling toward him.

Bang!

It smacked straight into his face.

Caught completely off guard, Yanai staggered back, clutching his aching nose and cheek.

He looked down at the culprit.

An egg.

He narrowed his eyes.

"Brat... was it you last ti too?"

The egg wiggled defiantly.

Yes. And what about it?

Big bad wolf—stay away from my mother.

Then it rolled right up in front of Nina, planting itself protectively between them as if ready to launch another attack at any mont.
