After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back Chapter 331: Restored
The mont Shion heard the familiar voice, he froze. His eyes widened as he stared at the masked male standing before him.
"Asgor?" he blurted out in disbelief. "You... you’ve co back?"
Nina’s eyes brightened with surprise as well.
It was him. The beastman who had traded with Lex. If Asgor was here, perhaps there was a way to restore Lex after all.
"Yes, I’ve returned." Asgor’s voice was hoarse and strained. "Tell where Helly is. Why isn’t she here?"
His bloodshot eyes revealed exhaustion and desperation.
He had been searching for days. Everywhere.
"About Helly..." A shadow crossed Shion’s face. "She... passed away many years ago."
The words struck like lightning.
"What did you say?"
Asgor lunged forward and seized Shion by the collar.
"She couldn’t have..."
His entire body trembled.
"You’re lying!"
He had never formally bonded with Helly.
Because of that, he had never possessed the connection that would have allowed him to sense her life or death.
Shion t his gaze steadily.
"It’s true. She’s gone."
His voice softened.
"You’ve already visited her old ho, haven’t you? No one has lived there for years."
Asgor’s grip loosened.
"Her mates are gone too."
"No."
Asgor staggered backward.
"That can’t be possible."
He shook his head violently.
"Her mates were powerful. They would never have lacked high-grade beast crystals. She wouldn’t have died."
He could not accept it.
Would not accept it.
Then suddenly, a bitter laugh escaped his lips.
It grew louder and louder, carrying years of pain.
"She died?"
His laughter sounded almost deranged.
"She actually died?"
His eyes filled with anguish.
"Then what happens to my revenge?"
"What happens to all my hatred?"
Shion sighed deeply.
"Asgor, the truth about what happened back then isn’t what you think."
A flicker of confusion appeared in Asgor’s eyes.
"What do you an?"
"Because she admitted it herself."
His voice beca increasingly unstable.
"She said she approached deliberately. She said she used to obtain the sacred artifact."
He rembered everything.
Every word. Every wound. He had sacrificed his voice. His appearance. His future. All to save them.
Yet when danger ca, they had abandoned him and fled.
Then they had coldly revealed the truth.
Everything had been a deception. A performance.
Since they believed obtaining the artifact was impossible, they had simply stopped pretending.
The irony was almost unbearable.
In the end, the Beast God had saved him.
And he had beco the artifact’s guardian.
Shion exhaled heavily.
"You were powerful."
"Tearen wanted to exploit that."
His expression darkened.
"He lied to Helly. He told her that her father’s crystal core had been damaged and that only the sacred artifact could save him."
Asgor’s eyes widened.
"Helly believed him."
"She approached you because she wanted to save her father."
Shion continued quietly.
"Later, she discovered the truth."
"Her father had been hard by Tearen himself."
"The sacred artifact couldn’t save him at all."
Pain flickered through his eyes.
"She realized she’d been manipulated."
"She felt guilty about what happened to you."
"After returning ho, she beca increasingly withdrawn. She blad herself."
"The guilt consud her."
"At first everyone thought she would recover. But she never did. The healers said her illness ca from the heart."
His voice grew softer.
"She beca weaker with every passing year. And eventually... she passed away."
Asgor stood frozen. His face had gone pale.
"Everything you said... is true?"
For the first ti, uncertainty appeared in his eyes.
And beneath it, grief. A grief so deep it threatened to swallow him whole.
He had never seen her again. Not once. Not even at the end.
Shion nodded.
"It’s true."
Then his expression hardened.
"If you’re still seeking revenge, there’s soone who deserves it. Tearen is still alive. He’s been imprisoned in the dungeon all these years."
Shion turned and issued several orders to the nearby guards.
Before they left, Asgor asked quietly:
"Did Helly leave any final words?"
Regret flashed across Shion’s face.
"I don’t know. I wasn’t there when she passed."
Not long afterward, the guards returned.
Between them shuffled a frail, elderly male.
Ti had reduced him to a shadow of his forr self.
The mont Asgor saw him, hatred exploded in his eyes.
"Tearen."
His voice was colder than ice.
"So it was you."
Tearen looked up. The instant he recognized Asgor, terror flooded his face.
Instinctively, he tried to run, but he only managed a single step.
Asgor kicked him violently to the ground.
Before Tearen could recover, a powerful hand clamped around his throat.
"Back then," Asgor hissed, "you were the one who deceived Helly?"
Tearen shook his head frantically.
He did not dare admit it. But the panic in his eyes had already revealed everything.
Years ago, he had indeed manipulated Helly. He had wanted the sacred artifact’s power for himself. He had dread of advancing his strength and elevating his status.
Instead, he suffered a devastating backlash. His sche was eventually exposed, and he was imprisoned.
Asgor saw the truth written plainly across the old male’s face.
That was enough.
All hesitation vanished from his eyes.
With a sharp twist of his arm, a sickening crack echoed through the night.
Tearen’s neck snapped instantly. His body fell lifelessly to the ground.
Tearen’s body collapsed onto the ground and lay motionless.
The life had already left his eyes.
Asgor stared down at the corpse in silence.
The revenge he had pursued for so many years was finally complete.
Yet there was no satisfaction.
No relief.
No joy.
Instead, there was only emptiness.
A hollow ache spread through his chest.
Helly was gone.
No amount of revenge could change that. No amount of hatred could bring her back.
There was still one question he had never asked her.
Had she ever loved him? Even once.
Now he would never know.
The answer had vanished with her.
Nina watched the grief etched across his face.
She knew it was not the appropriate mont, but another concern weighed heavily on her mind.
If she waited too long, Asgor might disappear again.
Stepping forward, she asked softly, "Asgor, is there any way to restore Lex?"
Asgor looked toward her.
"I still owe you a favor."
His voice was calm despite the pain in his eyes.
"If you wish, I can return his voice and appearance."
Nina imdiately nodded.
"Then I’ll use that favor."
The mont Lex heard those words, his heart surged with excitent.
He had never expected things to be resolved so easily.
If he could truly recover, then he could stand beside Nina without sha.
He could remain with her.
The only thing that troubled him was that Nina had spent one of her owed favors for his sake.
Still, he silently vowed that he would spend the rest of his life repaying her.
Asgor walked over and stopped in front of Lex.
"We’ll make another contract. After that, you’ll recover."
He glanced briefly at Nina.
"This is the favor I owe her."
Lex hesitated. Then a thought occurred to him.
"Why are you still wearing a mask?"
Shouldn’t his face have been restored already?
A trace of embarrassnt crossed Asgor’s features.
"Well... that’s a long story. I’ll explain later."
The truth was slightly awkward.
Their second contract had only been partially completed, causing the restoration to activate prematurely.
As a result, he spent only half of each day restored to normal while the other half left him trapped in his original state.
Eventually, he had simply given up and continued wearing the mask.
Most likely, the issue stemd from him and that female pressing the activation chanism simultaneously.
Judging by Lex’s expression, he clearly knew nothing about it.
Then again, Lex probably resembled his forr self.
Too afraid to look in a mirror. Too afraid to face the truth.
For now, Asgor decided not to explain.
There was no reason to create unnecessary complications.
A small flicker of guilt surfaced in his heart.
Reaching into his belongings, he removed the bond from his spatial stone and handed it over.
"Take this. Consider it compensation."
Lex blinked.
Compensation? For what?
Even so, he accepted it. After all, free gifts were free gifts. If nothing else, he could treat it as compensation for Nina.
Asgor extended his hand. Lex did the sa.
A familiar contract ford between them once again.
The agreent was completed.
Then, without warning, Asgor drew a blade. Before anyone could react, he drove it directly into his own heart.
Gasps erupted throughout the courtyard. Every beastman present froze in shock.
No one had expected him to take his own life.
Blood quickly stained his clothing.
Asgor swayed but remained standing through sheer willpower.
He turned toward Shion.
"Shion." His voice had beco faint. "After I die, please bury beside Helly."
A sad smile appeared on his lips. "Let us rest together."
Helly was gone. Without her, there was nothing left in this world that held aning for him.
Perhaps after death, his soul would finally find its way back to her.
Shion’s eyes filled with regret.
"Asgor..." After a long silence, he nodded. "I promise."
Asgor released a slow breath. Then he turned toward Lex.
"There is sothing I need to tell you. Co closer."
Frowning, Lex stepped forward.
Asgor leaned close and whispered several sentences into his ear.
When he finished speaking, the last trace of life left his body.
His eyes slowly closed... He was gone.
Lex stood frozen. Then his expression darkened dramatically. His face beca as black as a storm cloud.
That troubleso male had just inford him that Nina could have opened those two doors even without the exchange.
He had also explained the truth behind the second contract.
For several seconds, Lex simply stared at the corpse.
A powerful urge rose within him. He wanted to drag the man back to life just so he could kill him a second ti.
Unfortunately, that was no longer an option.
anwhile, Shion fulfilled Asgor’s final request.
His body was laid to rest beside Helly’s.
At long last, the two souls who had spent a lifeti missing each other would sleep together beneath the sa sky.
As for Nina and her companions, they temporarily settled into the City Lord’s residence.
The city still bore the scars of war.
There was much to rebuild.
And so the following days beca filled with etings, plans, and discussions as they worked together to restore White Sand City to its forr glory.
