"—Hiss." Nina winced as the tip of her finger was pricked, a bead of blood welling up.

"What happened? Did you poke your hand?"

Mino imdiately took her finger to check. The mont he saw the blood, he didn’t even think—he lifted her finger to his lips and gently sucked, his tongue softly brushing over the skin.

After drawing away the blood, he pulled her finger out, spotted the tiny wound, and gave it another careful lick.

A wave of tingling numbness spread through Nina’s fingertip. She quickly pulled her hand back, her cheeks flushing. "O-Okay, that’s enough."

Sal saw red.

He lunged forward and slashed Mino with a claw—Don’t touch my little female!

Mino blocked instinctively, but a sharp scratch still appeared across the back of his hand, blood seeping out.

"Mino! Are you okay?" Nina grabbed his hand, her eyes full of worry. "You’re bleeding."

She shot the little cat a glare, then said to Mino, "Wait here, I’ll get so dicine."

She hurried back with salve. "I’ll put so on for you."

Mino was about to say it wasn’t necessary, but then he rembered how tenderly Nina had cared for Sal when he was injured. After a brief thought, he obediently held out his hand.

Nina applied the dicine carefully, worried it might sting, and even leaned in to blow gently on the wound.

Mino watched her, felt the soft warmth brushing across his skin, and his heart lted like honey.

That scratch was totally worth it.

"I’m really sorry," Nina said apologetically. "Little Flower was naughty and scratched you."

"It’s fine," Mino said warmly. "It’s just a small wound—won’t affect hunting or cooking. He’s just an immature cub. I won’t bla him. I’ll still make him good food."

The words were considerate and magnanimous.

Nina promptly smacked the little cat on the head. "You ungrateful thing! Mino hunts and cooks for you every day, and you still scratch him? So naughty. Punishnt—no dinner tonight!"

Sal froze, stunned, then his big eyes filled instantly with grievance. He let out a string of pitiful ows, protesting: Little female, don’t believe him—he did it on purpose!

But Nina hardened her heart and ignored him, determined to teach him a lesson.

Sal glared viciously at Mino.

Scheming male. With his skills, how could he not dodge that? And such a tiny scratch—who even needs dicine for that? It’d heal on its own in no ti!

Mino raised an eyebrow in silent provocation: Got the guts to try again? Believe , I can make you go three days without food.

Sal ground his teeth, wanting nothing more than to pounce and bite him to death.

What a calculating male.

Nina paid no attention to the silent battle of wills. She focused on weaving the small basket and spent the entire afternoon finishing a piece she was very satisfied with.

That evening, she didn’t let Sal eat at the table. He sulked on the bed, hungry and miserable.

Later that night, Nina couldn’t bear it after all. She fed him a bit of dried at and stroked his head. "No scratching people again, got it? Or next ti, I really won’t feed you."

Sal turned back and licked her hand, then curled up by her leg, still sulking.

I didn’t scratch him for no reason.

Nina smiled and picked up her book.

As she was reading, Mino’s voice sounded from outside. "Nina, may I co in?"

"Yes."

Nina closed the book and looked toward the doorway.

The curtain rustled gently. A small white head poked in—then a body like a puff of marshmallow—and finally a fluffy, oversized tail.

Nina stared, dumbfounded. "Mino... is that you?"

"...Mm." Mino nodded shyly.

It was his first ti transforming into his cub form since growing up.

The little white cat padded over gracefully, stood up at the bedside, placed his front paws on the edge, and looked up at Nina with an unbearably cute face. Then he let out a soft, milky, "ow."

Nina was instantly slain.

Oh my god.

This is way too cute.

She desperately wanted to pet him.

After calming herself a bit, she asked, "Mino... why did you turn into this?"

"Do you like it?"

He tilted his small head and squinted his crystal-blue eyes, shalessly acting cute.

Nina was completely overwheld and nodded without hesitation.

She liked it. Liked it way too much.

Mino’s eyes curved with delight. Just as he’d thought—Nina really liked their feline beast form.

After hesitating for a mont, he asked, "Nina... could you help with sothing?"

"What kind of help?" she asked.

Mino gently tugged at the hem of her clothes, signaling for her to follow.

She followed him to the washroom. On the stone counter sat a basin already filled with water.

Mino leapt onto the counter, then with a plop jumped into the basin, splashing water everywhere.

He rested his paws on the edge, lifted his head, and stared at Nina with those big blue eyes. The aning was unmistakable.

Nina was stunned.

Wait... is he asking what I think he’s asking?

Does he want to... help him bathe?

Suppressing his embarrassnt, Mino said, "I went hunting today and got my fur dirty. There are places I can’t clean myself. Nina... could you help wash?"

After saying that, he shyly turned his head away, sneaking glances at her reaction.

Nina blinked, completely unsure how to respond.

If he were a real cat, she wouldn’t hesitate for a second.

But he was an adult male.

Yet... faced with such a tiny, adorable creature, she couldn’t quite bring herself to refuse.

Sal’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Does this male have no sha at all? Asking the little female to bathe him? Can’t he wash himself?!

After a brief pause, Nina hesitated. "Th-This... isn’t that a bit inappropriate?"

Seeing her refusal, Mino lowered his head and dunked it straight into the water, not resurfacing.

Nina’s heart skipped.

He’s not going to drown himself just because I said no, right?

"Mino?" she called tentatively.

No response. He stayed subrged.

Nina didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She walked over. "Alright, alright, I’ll wash you. Co up—being underwater like that is uncomfortable."

Splash!

Mino popped up instantly, eyes sparkling.

Nina sighed helplessly, ntally psyching herself up.

He’s not a male. He’s a little cat. A cute little cat.

She cleared her throat. "O-Okay then... I’m starting."

She reached for the soap—and Sal imdiately lost it.

He rushed over, smacked the soap out of her hand, and prepared to jump into the basin to start a fight.

Nina reacted fast, grabbing him and scolding, "What do you think you’re doing? Being naughty again?"

Sal protested loudly, yowling in outrage: You’re not allowed to wash him—only !

Nina shoved him aside. "No causing trouble, or no one will cook for you ever again."

Sal scoffed. As if I need him to cook.

He tried to charge again.

Nina shot him a warning look. "Don’t move."

Sal glared murderously at Mino, sparks practically flying from his eyes.

anwhile, Mino sat in the basin, looking smug and perfectly content—patiently waiting for Nina to wash him.
