After I Fully Prepared for the Apocalypse, the Ungrateful Cried with Regret Chapter 145: Singing One’s Own Praises
"Was it a zombie?"
Nina Jacobs didn’t know what had attacked her Little Zombie Rat either.
Nearby, an entire crate of Crystal Cores had been almost completely drained by the three "Superpower Energy Stones."
The Source Stones had all recovered.
Seeing only a few scattered zombies left below, Nina Jacobs decided the ti was right.
"Don’t try to be a hero in a bit,"
"No matter what happens, protect yourself. Got it?"
Nina Jacobs warned Wayne Warner.
There were definitely still dangers inside Aerodyne.
And that proved to be true.
About twenty minutes later, after killing the last of the zombies and storming into the company’s lobby, they found themselves surrounded by hundreds of Zombie Rats.
"So it was Zombie Rats."
No wonder there were so many new zombies outside.
Her missing Little Zombie Rats had probably been destroyed by them, too.
Nina Jacobs’s internal alarms were blaring.
A single bite from a Zombie Rat, and you’d be eting your maker.
The most effective Superpower against Zombie Rats was the Fire Elent Superpower.
As the Zombie Rats lunged at them, Nina Jacobs waved her hand, conjuring a wall of fire.
In the center of the lobby, the ceramic floor tiles trembled slightly before pulling away from the ground and rging into the fire wall.
Her Fire Elent Superpower enveloped her Earth Elent Superpower.
Even the most forceful Zombie Rats that tried to charge through were imdiately thrown back to the ground and set ablaze.
Empowered by the "Heart of Strange Fire,"
the Fire Elent Superpower around Nina Jacobs surged like a rolling wave of fire.
The waves of fire billowed outward, filling the air with the putrid stench of scorching fur.
In another room, a swarm of rats gushed out from a drainpipe.
The larger Zombie Rats were the size of house cats, their rotten, grayish-white eyes glowing with ferocity.
But the mont they neared the scorching heat source, they burst into flas.
Nina Jacobs hadn’t expected there to be so many Zombie Rats here.
Just then, she looked up and saw that so had already crawled onto the ceiling.
HISS!
She focused her Superpower’s fire into her fingertips, and several Zombie Rats instantly dropped from above.
The roaring flas burned relentlessly.
The sound of CRACKLING filled the air.
After holding on like this for half an hour, Nina Jacobs, standing within the wall of fire, was drenched in sweat.
If it weren’t for the "Superpower Energy Stones" replenishing her Superpower, she probably wouldn’t have lasted this long.
"It’s fine,"
"There should be almost none left."
Nina Jacobs said, sensing that Wayne Warner behind her was eager to help.
Gradually, fewer and fewer Zombie Rats erged from the surroundings.
Nina Jacobs brought down the wall of fire, concentrating the flas on the ground and directing them toward a single point.
"So this is where they were coming from."
After incinerating another hundred Zombie Rats, Nina Jacobs finally found their source.
It was a drain in one of the restrooms.
No more Zombie Rats were crawling out of it now.
Still, she used her Earth Elent Superpower to seal the drain shut.
Looking at the floor littered with Zombie Rat corpses,
Nina Jacobs collected the usable ones into her storage slots.
She planned to turn them into Little Zombie Rats when she had ti.
"Let’s go. Stick with and keep watch."
Nina Jacobs said.
"Okay."
Wayne Warner enveloped himself in his Strength Elent Superpower.
Nina Jacobs quickly found the company’s warehouses.
It turned out Aerodyne was a live-streaming e-comrce company.
They advertised shipping directly from source factories, so many factories had moved their warehouses here.
This made it convenient to ship products while live-streaming.
So, besides the live-streaming studios, the entire building was essentially a collection of shipping warehouses for various products.
Nina Jacobs only realized this as she was collecting supplies and reading the company profile.
With Wayne Warner behind her, she didn’t have to worry too much about any remaining Zombie Rats attacking.
But the thought of the zombies she had temporarily lured away...
She quickened her pace of collection.
"What a waste of all this rice."
In a rice and flour warehouse, Nina Jacobs found many bags of rice that had been chewed through by rats.
This place must have had a rat problem even before the apocalypse.
Nina Jacobs abandoned the grain ruined by the rats, collecting only the undamaged bags.
As for warehouses with decorations or other useless supplies, she skipped them entirely.
After all, her system’s storage slots were limited.
The supplies she collected today had already filled up the few storage slots she had just painstakingly cleared out.
’Looks like I need to find more Gold,’
Nina Jacobs thought to herself.
After finally collecting all the useful supplies in the building, Nina Jacobs left the scene with Wayne Warner...
「As dusk approached.」
By a Lakeview Pavilion on the outskirts of City J,
Xavier Coleman had been waiting in a sealed car for nearly the entire day.
Just as he was thinking the friend Nina Jacobs had ntioned wasn’t going to show up, he saw a minivan heading in his direction.
He saw an unfamiliar woman get out of the vehicle.
Xavier Coleman excitedly opened his car door.
"Get in."
Claire Warner gestured to Xavier Coleman.
The minivan was spacious enough. She had already folded down the rear seats to make room for their trade.
"My na is Claire Warner,"
"Nina Jacobs sent . You must be Xavier Coleman?"
Claire Warner asked, feigning ignorance.
Xavier Coleman nodded quickly. "Hello, hello, yes, I’m Xavier Coleman. Can you really trade supplies with ?"
"You don’t trust Nina Jacobs’s judgnt?"
"Anyway, anyone she recomnds is always reliable."
Nina Jacobs thought that singing her own praises felt pretty good.
With that, she waved her hand and produced more than ten sacks of flour and rice.
Not to be outdone, Xavier Coleman imdiately produced more than ten gleaming Gold Bars.
"I trust Nina Jacobs, too,"
"She seems like a good person."
"Oh, no, she’s definitely a good person."
Xavier Coleman said as he took the supplies.
"Alright, give a price first. I hear you also have a lot of Crystal Cores?"
Nina Jacobs asked.
"I do, right here."
Xavier Coleman took out all his Crystal Cores.
Nina Jacobs was truly surprised he had so many.
Several bulging burlap sacks were filled entirely with Crystal Cores.
"I haven’t counted them. You can just estimate their value in food,"
"As long as it’s edible, I’ll take it all."
Xavier Coleman looked at Claire Warner nervously.
But he soon discovered that the friend Nina Jacobs had recomnded was truly reliable.
Claire Warner began pulling out supplies from her space nonstop.
Each ti the minivan’s interior was filled, he would hurry to collect everything into his own space one by one.
After he produced a few more cases of Gold Bars, Claire Warner started bringing out supplies even faster.
As a Space Superpower User, he was already drenched in sweat from the strain of using his Superpower.
But Claire Warner seed completely unaffected.
She was even keeping a running count out loud.
Xavier Coleman lost track of how many van-loads of supplies he had stored.
Just as he was thinking he might not be able to finish all this food in his lifeti, Claire Warner finally stopped.
"What else do you have?"
Although each Gold Bar Xavier Coleman had produced ca in a sizable box,
it shouldn’t have been enough to fill up his entire space.
"Weapons. They’re really useless to ,"
"Miss Warner, do you want them?"
Xavier Coleman asked.
His space even contained several artillery mounts and cannons.
"Yes. This is good stuff, you don’t want it?"
Nina Jacobs asked.
The batch of weapons and supplies that City A had given to Dylan Quinn before consisted mostly of consumables like huge shells and bullets.
Since she didn’t have the weapons to use them, they were useless to her, so she had just given them all to the shelter.
But what Xavier Coleman had were actual, ready-to-use weapons.
It would be a waste not to take them.
