One person looked utterly mortified,

while the other broke into a wide grin, showing off a mouthful of pearly whites.

"You hear that?

Now you know who I am, huh?"

Holden Shaw scoffed.

"Chase Gallagher, what is the aning of this?

Aren’t you coming back to City A with us?

And to think I was worried about you all this ti."

Jane Dixon asked, her brow furrowed.

’What’s going on? How could Chase have joined Nina Jacobs’s side?’

"Worried about him?

If you were so worried, how could you just leave him behind all alone?

If you were that worried, you should have jumped out of the car to stay with him,

you phony."

Holden Shaw felt even more emboldened now.

"So you were the ones nearby that day?"

Finn Hart understood now.

’Otherwise, how would these people know so clearly what happened in front of the hospital?’

"We had no choice that day! Chase, you’re a Speed Elent Superpower User,

so we knew you could find a way to escape. That’s why we...

You led that zombie away, didn’t you?"

Jane Dixon scrambled to explain.

Chase Gallagher just shook his head:

"That zombie is already dead."

"Did you kill it?"

Phoebe Vance asked imdiately.

’To deal with a Speed Elent zombie, you’d probably need a Speed Elent Superpower User.’

"Nina Jacobs killed it."

Chase Gallagher looked over at the still-sleeping Nina Jacobs.

"She killed that zombie?"

Jane Dixon couldn’t possibly imagine how Nina Jacobs, a Fire Elent Superpower User, had managed it.

"Folks, you should be done with your questions by now, right?

Instead of standing around asking about this and that,

why don’t you go deal with the zombies you led here?"

Seeing the confrontation, Eric Stone, Kurt Garrison, and a few others walked over.

Pascal Paige was still doing everything he could to stop Walsh’s bleeding, never expecting that Chase Gallagher and the others would get tangled up with this group again.

As soon as Eric Stone spoke, everyone present turned to look.

"See that?

Those are the naces from City A.

They don’t give a damn if anyone else lives or dies."

"For people like them, death would be getting off easy!"

"They’re the ones who got Walsh and the others hurt like this."

"Hey! You just promised

that you’d do your best to kill zombies after we let you in.

How can you still have the nerve to just stand here?"

"..."

There were still two or three hundred people present, and every one of them was staring at the group with reproachful eyes.

Even Jas Fletcher was watching the spectacle from a distance, enjoying the show.

Finn Hart had never been looked down on like this before.

"We’ve already scouted this building.

As it stands, these are the only places where we can fight the zombies."

Kurt Garrison led the crowd toward a platform.

Before the apocalypse, this building above the nightclub had been a comrcial street.

Each floor had several platforms that jutted out from the building’s exterior.

Kurt Garrison suggested that the remaining survivors use these platforms to fend off the zombies.

"Are you kidding ?

If we stand out there, won’t we beco a target for all the zombies?"

Phoebe Vance said, looking at the balcony-sized platform.

Although it was blocked off by stainless steel railings, it was still incredibly dangerous.

After all, the ground below them was swarming with zombies.

"Killing zombies is supposed to be dangerous.

What, did you expect to do it safely?"

soone from the crowd said with a hostile tone.

"Mr. Garrison, will they be participating as well?"

Finn Hart signaled for Phoebe Vance to stop talking and pointed toward Jas Fletcher and his group in the distance.

"Of course.

If they don’t contribute at a ti like this, are they planning to drag everyone down with them to die?"

Kurt Garrison’s words carried a heavy, threatening weight.

Both Finn Hart and Jas Fletcher understood the implication.

If they didn’t take the lead in the fight now, they would beco everyone else’s enemy.

The rest of the survivors could throw them out of the building at a mont’s notice.

"But down there, it’s just too..."

Phoebe Vance didn’t even have the courage to look down a second ti,

let alone stand out there and kill zombies.

But if they didn’t kill the zombies, they were probably dood this ti.

Besides, Kurt Garrison had just said that they couldn’t use any more large-scale explosive weapons for the ti being.

Doing so would only attract more zombies.

"So much for the people from City A.

Looks to like all they know how to do is embarrass themselves."

Jas Fletcher led his group toward one of the platforms.

Now, they had no choice but to bite the bullet and go.

When the door connecting to the platform was opened, everyone present heard the trendous roars of the zombies.

"Mr. Hart, if you please."

Kurt Garrison said.

Finn Hart, his face pale, nodded.

He picked all his teammates except for their Space Superpower User and went with them to another platform.

’He has a Space Superpower User and doesn’t even use them. What a fucking idiot.’

Although Jas Fletcher’s legs were shaking with fear, he still stood behind a dozen or so people and directed them.

The two Space Superpower Users then threw all the heavy objects from their pocket spaces down below.

They actually managed to crush quite a few zombies.

Finn Hart only glanced over once before continuing to fire his suppressed pistol.

He was always able to accurately spot the mutated zombies and prioritize shooting them down.

"Let’s get started, too."

Kurt Garrison said to Eric Stone with a wry smile.

’They all knew that in this situation, death was almost certain.’

’But what if there was a sliver of hope?’

"Yeah."

Eric Stone was also prepared to die, as were Julian Dempsey and the others who had fought alongside them in the past.

"Let’s go. Every one we kill is one more.

If we’re going to die sooner or later, let’s take a few more of these zombies down with us!"

Julian Dempsey bood with laughter.

Beside him, Yara Garcia wiped away her tears, her face etched with worry.

"I don’t care! You all have to stay alive for .

No one is allowed to die."

Yara Garcia said as she pulled so bulletproof vests out of her space.

They might not be useful, but she still forced the others to put them on.

"I wonder, if Nina Jacobs wakes up,

will she bla us for bringing her to such a dangerous place?"

Yvonne Willow murmured, squatting beside Nina Jacobs and watching over her.

’These past few days, Nina had always managed to find the safest hiding spots for them.’

’They were the ones who had let Nina down.’

"It was my idea."

Although Chase Gallagher didn’t say much else, the others could see he was blaming himself.

"You’re not to bla.

That place was supposed to be safe. Who could’ve known sothing like that would happen?"

Holden Shaw said.

"Wayne Warner, protect Nina Jacobs.

The outside... leave it to us."

Wendy Marshall said with a bitter smile.

’She planned to go support Eric Stone.’

’Combining a Water Elent Superpower with a Thunder Elent Superpower seed to have an unexpectedly good effect.’

"I’ll go with you.

At the very least, we should use up our Superpowers before we die."

Jessica Vance stood up as well.

In the gloomy afternoon, the constant screams of the injured and dying only made the zombies more and more excited.

Wendy Marshall used her Water Elent Superpower, sending a torrent of water rushing toward a large group of zombies below.

Imdiately after, Eric Stone used his Thunder Elent Superpower to channel electricity through the water, instantly electrocuting a huge swath of zombies.

However, only a few of them had their brains destroyed.

But the remaining zombies were incapacitated, and Kurt Garrison picked them off one by one with his crossbow.

"Not bad at all."

Jessica Vance remarked as she coordinated with a Fire Elent Superpower User to kill a few zombies.

"Yeah, but it’s a sha we can’t kill them all."

Wendy Marshall sighed.

"Quick! Gather up everything in this building that can be thrown down,

and after we crush them, we’ll set it all on fire!"

Jas Fletcher ordered his Space Superpower Users.

Heavy furniture could crush so of the zombies, and setting it on fire afterward could burn even more.

The thod was a bit crude, but its effect wasn’t half bad.

Just then, a Little Zombie Rat scurried up the side of the wall and onto the rooftop.
