Nina Jacobs noticed Wayne Warner seed to really like the bag of chips. She couldn’t help but grab one and say,

"That old way of doing business is over."

’In my past life, I didn’t know much about the leader of Falken Base, only that rumors said he wasn’t very capable.’

The other group was taking a long ti to arrive.

Chester Pearson even suspected they might have changed their route and weren’t coming at all, until an hour later, a group finally appeared in the distance.

"Captain, that road is clear!"

Holt Tate stood at a high vantage point and took a look.

They had only cleared the route up to Sunbeam Solar Solutions.

The road ahead was still completely blocked.

But the people from Falken had cleared the originally blocked section of the road from the opposite direction.

"No wonder they were so slow. It’s a lot closer to get here from Falken."

As expected, the group’s destination was Sunbeam Solar Solutions.

But when they got out of their vehicles and saw that people were already here, the expressions on the faces of several of the young people turned ugly.

Chester Pearson also noticed that only these few young people weren’t wearing uniforms.

They probably weren’t from the Falken Base rescue team.

"Who are you people?"

One of them, a young woman in a peach-pink tracksuit, asked in a rude tone.

"City D’s Sixth Rescue Squad. We’re here to collect supplies from a City D factory. Any problem with that?"

Chester Pearson retorted.

"When did you get here?"

Irene Palr’s expression darkened as she asked.

But at that mont, two n wearing the sa uniforms stepped forward.

"Percival Miller, Captain of the Falken Rescue Team. This is Vice-Captain Wyatt Vance. A pleasure to et you."

As soon as Percival Miller spoke, the atmosphere instantly beca much more amicable.

"So it’s Captain Miller. It must have been tough working in this heat. Why don’t you and your n co in and rest for a bit?"

Chester Pearson could tell that the rescue team’s captain and the young people from before didn’t seem to get along.

Percival Miller and his n gladly accepted Chester Pearson’s invitation.

Chester Pearson generously offered them several cases of drinks from the small store.

The group Percival Miller had brought with him looked completely exhausted.

"Captain Miller, aren’t you suspicious of them?"

Seeing this, Irene Palr walked into the middle of the group and asked directly.

"What’s this about? Suspicious of us?"

Chester Pearson asked curiously.

"Weren’t you the ones who took the supplies from the Eden Canning Factory? I’ve heard that wherever your City D rescue teams go, not a single scrap of supplies is left behind. The canning factory is so close to here, you must have been the ones who took it all!"

The more Irene Palr spoke, the angrier she beca. Beside her, Darian Coleman and the others also glared at Chester Pearson’s group with a look of shared animosity.

"Miss Palr, that’s a rather rude way to speak. Even if Captain Pearson and his team did clear out the canning factory, it would be perfectly reasonable. Eden is a local City D enterprise to begin with. Besides, we don’t believe Captain Pearson was responsible for this."

After speaking, Wyatt Vance recounted what had happened earlier.

Chester Pearson finally understood. ’This woman is blaming us for taking the supplies.’

"You saw when you got here. If we had a way to bypass the zombies, would there be so many zombie corpses out front?"

Chester Pearson found it laughable.

"Isn’t this a case of the thief crying ’thief’?"

Leo Hale chid in from the side.

"Yeah, we don’t know who the real thief is yet."

Irene Palr was fuming.

Percival Miller finally lost his patience. "Irene Palr, watch your conduct! If you continue to be this insolent, take your people and leave imdiately!"

Percival Miller was a retired soldier, after all, and the deadly aura he had developed from killing zombies in the apocalypse instantly intimidated Irene Palr.

Nina Jacobs hadn’t expected that the girl, Irene Palr, would actually start crying on the side.

However, aside from her few companions who gathered around to console her,

no one else paid her any mind.

Chester Pearson didn’t feel awkward at all.

’I’ve seen this sort of thing many tis. This Irene Palr must have connections with the higher-ups.’

"We’ve been clearing these twenty-plus kiloters for four or five days. I didn’t expect you to have already cleared the entire line. This way, our two bases can finally travel between each other."

Percival Miller was astonished to hear that Chester Pearson and his team had cleared nearly 80 kiloters of road in just 6 days.

"We had no choice. It’s the mission. Everyone wanted to bring the solar panels back to power the base as soon as possible."

"You’re even going to take the solar panels from here?"

Irene Palr beca even more agitated after hearing this.

’How are we supposed to sell the solar equipnt to City D Base at a high price now?’

’The canning factory was already cleared out... We’ve wasted these past five days for nothing!’

"Miss Palr, Falken Base doesn’t lack solar panels to begin with."

Wyatt Vance reminded her.

They never understood why the higher-ups had sent them on this kind of mission.

Other than the canning factory, the supplies in this industrial park weren’t essential.

"Are you all stupid? Forget it. I’m not sticking around with a bunch of idiots. We’re leaving. Percival Miller, you just wait."

Seeing that Percival Miller was about to blow up again, Irene Palr decisively left with her people.

’The road is clear anyway.’

"Miller, the Base Commander told us to protect her. Is it really a good idea to just let them leave like this?"

Watching their retreating figures, a middle-aged man beside Percival Miller reminded him.

"Let her go."

Percival Miller said nothing more.

Because it was about ti for them to head back anyway.

"We’ve finished loading up."

Just then, Ian Chandler erged from the factory building with a group of Space Superpower Users.

Only then did he realize there was another group of people outside.

"What are you guys talking about?"

Ian Chandler asked Nina Jacobs.

"Nothing much. Just complinting our rescue team on how good we are at collecting supplies."

Nina Jacobs replied.

"I had no idea our City D rescue team was so famous, HAHAHA."

Chester Pearson laughed and introduced Percival Miller’s group to Ian Chandler.

’Nina Jacobs was right.’

’That girl, Irene Palr, had just said that wherever the City D rescue teams go, not a single scrap of supplies is left behind.’

’What was that, if not a complint?’

Still, he felt it was a bit of a sha.

The supplies at the canning factory up ahead had already been completely taken.

It seed they had arrived one step too late.

After all, besides that canning factory, there wasn’t much worth collecting further on.

Besides, they had no intention of touching the supplies within Falken’s territory.

Percival Miller, Wyatt Vance, and the others were also quite shocked after learning about the City D Base.

City D actually had so many survivors.

Their Falken Base, by contrast, had fewer than 20,000 survivors at present.

"When you have the chance, you must co visit us at the City D Base. We can drink and chat to our hearts’ content. We won’t keep you any longer today."

Chester Pearson and Percival Miller’s group had a great conversation. When Miller heard that many of his old comrades-in-arms and juniors were at the City D Base, he grew even more emotional.

"Definitely, definitely."

Percival Miller was just about to leave when he noticed Wyatt Vance had a strange expression.

"Sothing’s not right."

Wyatt Vance said.

He was a Spiritual Elent Superpower User. Ever since Irene Palr and her group left, he had been intentionally keeping an eye on them.

They later moved beyond the range of his perception.

But not long after, he sensed several people moving rapidly back in their direction.

"Could it be Irene Palr and her group?"

Percival Miller asked with a frown.

’For them to co back now, they must have run into danger.’

"I’m not sure. There are three fewer people. And I can’t sense any zombies."

Wyatt Vance replied.

Nina Jacobs broke out in a cold sweat.

’Thankfully, I absorbed the Mystic Ice Core and can’t be detected by Spiritual Elent Superpowers. Otherwise, I would have been exposed back at the canning factory.’
