"Elara Thorne, you’d better not regret this!

If you leave, we’re done!"

Timothy Spencer shouted.

In the past, Elara Thorne had been terrified of him getting angry.

The mont he lost his temper, she would imdiately back down. But this ti, she didn’t even turn back.

Seeing Oceane Sutton grievously wounded on the ground by Trevor, Timothy Spencer finally started to panic.

But the thought that he was a Healer quickly cald him.

Healing Elent Superpower Users were incredibly rare and highly sought after. Even without Elara Thorne, he could find soone new in no ti.

"You should have just let us go from the start, shouldn’t you?"

Shirley Lucas walked toward Oceane Sutton, who was bound tightly in vines.

He’d also dug up plenty of information; all the blocked-off roads nearby were Oceane Sutton’s doing.

Her stated goal was to trap zombies, but she’d only succeeded by using living people as bait.

On top of that, she had hoarded a massive amount of supplies, claiming she was going to build a base, yet she hadn’t even chosen a site.

"Ma’am, what should be done with her?"

Trevor walked up to Nina Jacobs to ask. Nearby was Aiden Gordon, whom he had also tied up.

"That one," Nina Jacobs said, pointing at Aiden Gordon. "Just kill him."

"Don’t kill ! I know I was wrong!

I’ll do whatever you say! I’ll work like a dog for you."

Aiden Gordon never imagined that Oceane Sutton and her five masters would be so pathetically weak.

’I’ve t my match this ti,’ he thought. ’But as long as I’m alive, I can still make a coback.’

"So you know you were wrong? Can that bring back the people you got killed?"

Shirley Lucas asked.

’Nina Jacobs is right,’ he thought. ’Aiden Gordon is too treacherous. Leaving him alive would only cause more trouble.’

"As for the others who were involved in that incident, you can deal with them as you see fit."

Nina Jacobs said to Trevor and his group.

The "incident" she referred to was the day Trevor and his people had been betrayed and ambushed by Aiden Gordon and his n.

"...Alright."

Trevor’s eyes were red as he agreed. Nina Jacobs had never offered them any words of comfort, but she rembered their hatred and was now allowing them to avenge their dead kinsn.

Looking at the pleading Aiden Gordon, Trevor killed him on the spot without another mont’s hesitation.

"I’ll leave Oceane Sutton to you for now," Nina Jacobs said to Adrian Shaw and Shirley Lucas. "She should have plenty of supplies."

The mont he heard the word "supplies," Shirley Lucas’s eyes lit up.

"Where are you going?" Adrian Shaw asked, seeing that Nina Jacobs was about to leave.

"One of the shifty ones ran off. I’m just going to check it out. I’ll be right back."

Nina Jacobs was very curious about where Edric Holden was headed. That was why, when she had spotted him slipping away earlier, she’d rely sent a few small rats to follow him.

In a maze of narrow alleyways, Edric Holden pulled a small car from his spatial storage while on the run.

"Trey Windslow."

Hearing the na called from behind him, Edric Holden spun around, overjoyed, but was t with the sight of Nina Jacobs.

"You?"

Edric Holden was instantly on guard.

So, he really was Trey Windslow.

Nina Jacobs had only been guessing, but his reaction confird her suspicion.

This Edric Holden was Trey Windslow from Tamberly, and he was the next contact person for those other agents.

In other words, he was also tasked with relaying intelligence.

"Who the hell are you?"

Edric Holden’s eyes narrowed. ’Trey Windslow is my codena. How does she know it?’

"Of course I know. The Aegis Conclave gave your file. Besides," Nina Jacobs said, producing a badge, "Icarus Golding sent to find you."

Edric Holden confird the badge was authentic, but the doubt in his eyes didn’t completely vanish.

’I never received any orders to make a rendezvous here.’

’Besides, she was with that other group.’

"He originally told us to et in Tamberly in two days.

But we ran into so trouble on the way, so I had to co find you to get the supplies first."

"If I hadn’t made that move earlier, how else could I have gotten a chance to speak with you alone?

Besides, Oceane Sutton was just your tool, wasn’t she?"

Nina Jacobs was acting on a whim, wanting to see just how thoroughly she could fool him.

Just as she’d hoped, Edric Holden broke into a smug grin after hearing her words.

"You’re absolutely right. It’s her own fault for not listening to and joining us. Better that she’s dead—saves the trouble."

Edric Holden’s entire deanor had shifted.

All Oceane Sutton ever thought about was hoarding enough supplies to drag him off to live as a hermit in the mountains for the rest of their lives.

"Who would want that kind of monotonous life? Being tied to one person forever? What a joke."

Edric Holden lit a cigarette, complaining casually.

"I agree. That’s a completely unrealistic idea," Nina Jacobs said.

"The Aegis Conclave is investing so much in manpower and resources right now; it’s bound to flourish in the future. The place I’m headed is Tranquilor, where I can spend my days in pleasure. I’m sure you want to go too, right?"

"Oh, right. I still don’t know your na."

Edric Holden was starting to like the look of Nina Jacobs more and more.

’What’s my na?’

Nina Jacobs recalled that mbers of The Aegis Conclave addressed each other by codenas. This Trey Windslow probably didn’t know all of them.

Her expression remained unchanged as she answered, "Zephyra."

"Zephyra, where are you headed next?"

Edric Holden had never heard that codena before, but new mbers were joining The Aegis Conclave every day, so it was perfectly normal.

"I’m eting up with Vance and the others to go to Keldorn. Vance said you should just hand the supplies over to ."

Nina Jacobs hadn’t forgotten what the others had told her.

This Trey Windslow wasn’t just a contact; he was also a supply depot.

"You’re going to Keldorn too? That’s a sha. Did you know the Bishop Clan might be hiding Mystic Ice Cores?"

Edric Holden looked at Nina Jacobs and spoke in a secretive tone.

"Those people trust you. If you get in, once I find the Mystic Ice Cores for The Aegis Conclave, you’ll get a share of the credit. What do you say?"

Nina Jacobs raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure there are Mystic Ice Cores there? Who told you?"

"The one who told ? I’ve already killed him, of course."

Edric Holden let out a cold sneer. "The fewer people who know about this kind of thing, the better. I’ve already sent so people ahead to scout the Bishop Clan’s area."

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been in such a pathetic state today, without even a single aide.

"How many people did you send?

I an... if this is real, I need to know exactly who’s going to be taking a cut of my credit."

Nina Jacobs could tell Edric Holden hadn’t reported this matter yet.

If that was the case, there might still be a chance to salvage the situation.

"Not too many, not too few. Exactly 100 people. But Mystic Ice Cores always appear in batches. If we really find a large quantity, there will be more than enough credit to go around."

Edric Holden assud Zephyra was worried there wouldn’t be enough credit to share.

"What you’re saying... makes sense."

Nina Jacobs thought for a mont before asking dubiously, "But if that’s the case, why didn’t you go yourself?"

’There were too many holes in Edric Holden’s story.’

’First, she doubted he could actually mobilize a hundred people.’

’The Aegis Conclave’s mbers were almost all powerful Superpower Users; the organization was relatively lean and elite. How could a low-level contact like him command a hundred people?’

’And if Edric Holden valued credit so much, there was no reason for him to stay by Oceane Sutton’s side, keeping up the charade. He could have just joined that hundred-person team himself.’

Seemingly caught off guard by her insight, Edric Holden’s expression beca a little unnatural.

"That Magnus York and I are mortal enemies. He’s the one leading the team this ti."

"To be honest, I’m actually hoping he dies out there."

A vicious glint flashed in Edric Holden’s eyes.

’Magnus York?’

’Sounds like he outranks Edric Holden.’

"Magnus York has a Compass for tracking locations, but I doubt he’ll actually be able to find anything," Edric Holden continued.
