Xia Chuyi paused her hand that was patting her son’s head.
Really wanted to smack this ungrateful kid.
"Hey, Huo Shiqian, take your son over," Xia Chuyi said, "I’m an adult, I need to work and prepare materials to face the challenges of chefs from other countries."
The daily squabbles between mother and son brought a slight smile to Huo Shiqian’s lips.
Xia Chuyi was true to her word. She picked up so of the materials she had prepared earlier and began studying the culinary attributes of Fusang to prepare for potential upcoming challenges.
As she read, she beca sowhat engrossed and montarily forgot the ti.
After a while, Huo Shiqian finished giving their son a bath and was about to carry him to bed.
Little Huo Shiwu poked his head out from his father’s shoulder, looked towards Xia Chuyi’s direction, and furrowed his little brows, "Isn’t mom going to rest?"
Hearing this, Huo Shiqian glanced at his wife, knowing she had gotten absorbed in her materials.
"It’s okay, Shiwu, you go to sleep first," Huo Shiqian said to his son, "Mom will rest in a little while."
Upon hearing this, little Huo Shiwu frowned even more and stretched his hand towards Xia Chuyi.
This indicated to Huo Shiqian to carry him over.
Huo Shiqian smirked faintly and carried his son over.
As soon as Huo Shiwu was carried in front of Xia Chuyi, he imdiately said to his mom, "Mom, it’s ti to sleep."
"Huh?" Hearing Huo Shiwu’s voice, Xia Chuyi lifted her head from the materials.
Then, she imdiately saw her dear son in pajamas, with a serious little face staring at her.
Seeing this, Xia Chuyi quickly looked down at her watch.
"Oh, is it this late already?" Xia Chuyi hadn’t realized she had been absorbed in the materials for so long, so she put down the materials, stood up, and ruffled her son’s head, "Alright, little caretaker, mommy is getting ready to sleep."
Huo Shiwu frowned again as his mom started to "ss around" with him.
However, Huo Shiwu "held it in," and didn’t say anything.
Not until Xia Chuyi went to wash up did Huo Shiwu turn his head and hug his dad’s neck, saying in a childish voice, "Mom is so silly."
Hearing this, the smile in Huo Shiqian’s eyes almost spilled out.
"Yes, mommy is silly," Huo Shiqian glanced towards the direction his wife had gone to wash up, then looked down at his son, "So Shiwu and daddy need to protect mommy a lot, that way, we can make up for mommy’s ’silliness.’"
Genius little Huo Shiwu, actually didn’t fully understand how pampering and protecting mommy related to making up for her "silliness."
However, little Huo Shiwu felt that like his mom’s kind of "silliness," it definitely wouldn’t do without proper protection.
Thus, little Huo Shiwu nodded solemnly and said to his father, "Yes, protect mommy."
Xia Chuyi, who was washing up in the bathroom, had no idea that outside, one big and one little were discussing how to "protect" her, this "silly goose."
When Xia Chuyi ca out from the bathroom, Huo Shiwu obediently extended his arms from Huo Shiqian’s embrace, reaching for Xia Chuyi.
Seeing her son like this, Xia Chuyi naturally took him gladly and said with a smile, "Co on, son, mom will take you to bed."
What Xia Chuyi said didn’t elicit much of a response from Huo Shiwu.
Huo Shiwu just clung to his mother and said seriously in a childish voice, "Mom, don’t work so hard in the future. Shiwu will earn money to support you."
