Huo Shiqian and Xia Chuyi had just left the grove when they ca upon a fork in the road.
Uncle Liberation Army took her to the left.
"Hey, wait, that’s not the way back to our dorm!" Xia Chuyi hurriedly corrected Uncle Liberation Army.
"Just listen," Huo Shiqian said lightly, "there’s no mistake."
He still led her up the path on the left.
Xia Chuyi was slightly taken aback, as Uncle Liberation Army was a man who spoke with purpose and did not speak idly.
Tilting her head and thinking, she asked, "Brother Shi Qian, do you know soone at our school?"
She was sowhat curious.
"Yes," Huo Shiqian answered, his tone revealing a rare warmth.
Uncle Liberation Army’s behavior made Xia Chuyi even more curious.
Huo Shiqian took her, confidently heading in a certain direction.
The further they walked, the more amazed Xia Chuyi felt.
This road was very familiar—it was the path she always took when visiting Professor Bao’s house.
Sure enough, Huo Shiqian had taken her to the residential area of the teachers of the History Departnt.
"Brother Shi Qian, is the person you know here?" Xia Chuyi smiled and said, "What a coincidence, I work as an assistant for a professor here."
Although she was learning embroidery, she publicly claid to be an assistant.
Huo Shiqian slightly curved his lips and said, "It is indeed a coincidence."
Xia Chuyi didn’t catch the underlying aning of his words, and from a distance, she saw Professor Bao’s house.
She pointed at the Professor’s yard and said to Uncle Liberation Army, "Look, this is it, where I work part-ti at Professor Bao’s house."
"Yes, I know," Huo Shiqian followed her gaze, nodding profoundly.
Xia Chuyi pouted, swinging his hand, thinking: Of course he knows, he had "spies" around her.
She just wanted to tell him the location.
When they reached Professor Bao’s front door, Huo Shiqian suddenly stopped and asked, "Chuyi, what do you think of Professor Bao?"
Xia Chuyi, unsuspecting, thought he was simply curious about her academic environnt and earnestly replied, "He’s alright, quite nice."
"Although people always say Professor Bao has a bad temper, I think that’s just a façade."
"Or perhaps, it depends on the person."
At this point, Xia Chuyi paused, rembering Professor Bao’s tender monts with Mrs. Gu, smiled, and said, "Professor Bao is quite fierce to outsiders, but he’s exceptionally gentle with his wife."
She seriously exclaid, "A man who knows how to cherish his wife must be a good man,"
That was Xia Chuyi’s genuine assessnt of Professor Bao.
"Thank you," suddenly, the person beside her, Uncle Liberation Army, spoke.
Xia Chuyi: ...
What was he thanking her for when she was praising ’n who cherish their wives’?!
Xia Chuyi, who had lived two lives as Old Monster, felt a bit embarrassed.
Then, Huo Shiqian, with a calm deanor, pushed open the gate of Professor Bao’s yard.
Xia Chuyi: ??
When they reached the door, Huo Shiqian knocked.
"Co in," ca Professor Bao’s voice from inside.
Huo Shiqian opened the door and led her in.
Professor Bao put down the thick book he was holding and took off his reading glasses, "You’re back?"
"Yes, uncle, I’m back."
Xia Chuyi’s eyes widened in shock, as if thunderstruck.
Brother Shi Qian? Professor Bao?
She looked at Uncle Liberation Army on her left and at Professor Bao on her right.
