Xia Chuyi’s money-grubbing appearance made Huo Shiqian struggle to conceal his amusent.
"Let’s go." Upon arriving at Bao Mansion, Huo Shiqian led Xia Chuyi out of the car.
Sure enough, once they entered the house, there were several boxes laid out, containing the Myanmar Stones Huo Shiqian had found.
"Why are there more original stones this ti than last?" Xia Chuyi curiously asked Huo Shiqian as she looked at the stones.
At a glance, she knew that there were significantly more Myanmar Stones this ti.
Huo Shiqian gave a light smile and casually said, "Found them, so I brought them all together."
He did not tell Xia Chuyi the real reason behind it—that his mission with the Southwest Army had been completed ahead of schedule, and therefore, he would soon be reassigned away from the Southwest.
This ti, his transfer would be to the Kyoto Military District.
So, he and his little girl were about to be reunited.
However, since this matter ultimately involved military secrecy, Huo Shiqian had no imdiate plan to inform Xia Chuyi.
After a while, when he returned for good, it would count as a surprise for her.
Completing the mission ahead of ti was also the reason why he suddenly had a promotion and was acting above his position.
Huo Shiqian did not explain, and Xia Chuyi did not ask further. Instead, she gleefully opened the boxes to look at the jade rough stones.
"Wow, such a big stone could produce such good green," Xia Chuyi said excitedly as she touched a dark large original stone.
Hearing this, Huo Shiqian couldn’t help but laugh quietly and, after shaking his head, told the girl, "Chuyi, this batch of original stones isn’t as good as the last one, don’t get your hopes too high."
Afraid that Xia Chuyi might beco addicted to this hobby, Huo Shiqian gave it so thought.
"Chuyi, even though the last batch of original stones were of good quality and had a high chance of yielding green, it’s still very rare to uncover large pieces of green like you did last ti."
Huo Shiqian’s face took on a slightly serious expression and said, "This business of stone gambling should only happen occasionally when fortune allows."
When Xia Chuyi heard Huo Shiqian’s words, she imdiately laughed, withdrew her hand, stood up, and said, "Brother Shi Qian, don’t worry, I know."
If it weren’t for him buying the original stones, she would never have touched this in her lifeti.
"Oh, right!" Xia Chuyi suddenly rembered sothing, and reaching into her pocket—as if taking it from thin air actually—pulled out a piece of jade and handed it to Huo Shiqian, asking, "Brother Shi Qian, take a look at this jade, what do you think?"
"This is sothing I casually picked up while wandering around on Antique Street," said Xia Chuyi while handing the jade over to Huo Shiqian as she explained where it ca from.
A casual purchase? Why bother looking at it then?
But Xia Chuyi’s requests were sothing Huo Shiqian would never refuse.
Besides, he couldn’t refuse when he saw the bright anticipation in the girl’s eyes.
"Let have a look," Huo Shiqian said calmly as he took the ancient jade.
Then, after taking the jade and just giving it a glance, he was a bit surprised.
"How is it, how’s the quality of this piece of jade?" Seeing Huo Shiqian’s reaction, Xia Chuyi’s eyes lit up even more.
"Did you really buy this jade from the antique market just like that?" Huo Shiqian couldn’t help but ask.
The so-called "casually bought" would naturally not cost much, but this piece of jade seed unlikely to be sothing that could be bought so casually.
However, Xia Chuyi was nodding vigorously, insisting, "I really picked this up casually at the antique market."
As she spoke, Xia Chuyi observed Huo Shiqian’s expression, "So, how is it, the quality of this jade is good, isn’t it?"
