Half an hour later, Ed picked up Lou Xi at the hospital and drove straight to the police station.

Xi Siwei didn’t expect to co to the police station twice in one day; the first ti was because he was falsely accused of harboring a fugitive. Later, he thought it over carefully and felt that it was a trap set deliberately by soone.

When he went back and couldn’t find Lou Xi no matter how hard he tried, he understood.

He was then notified that the murderer of Qin Mobai had been found, but it was a corpse that was found. The body is now at the police station, and Lou Xi has been notified to co identify it.

Soone answered when the police station called Lou Xi, but when Xi Siwei called her, he was hung up on.

Xi Siwei was filled with anger.

After waiting for more than half an hour at the police station, Lou Xi finally arrived.

Seeing Xi Siwei again, Lou Xi’s emotions towards him were quite nuanced.

She used to think he was completely a bad person, that he was only interested in grabbing other people’s things without any good intention.

But since discovering many unexpected photos in Xi Siwei’s private account in the morning, Lou Xi thought this man was truly terrifying for having secretly observed her for so long. Yet, she also found his concealed emotions to be unbelievable.

Lou Xi kept wondering to what extent one could like or love soone, and how long soone could persist in loving a person who doesn’t love them back?

What kind of courage does it take to love soone who doesn’t love you and even hates you?

"Where did you go?" Xi Siwei walked up to Lou Xi, irritation laced with anger in his eyes.

"Mr. Xi, don’t stand so close to our young lady." Ed stepped forward, blocking Lou Xi before she could speak.

"What do you think you are?" Xi Siwei looked coldly at Ed.

"A subordinate of Young Master Ji, entrusted to protect the young lady’s safety."

The implication being that Xi Siwei’s presence was threatening Lou Xi’s safety.

"Ed, it’s alright." Lou Xi said calmly to Ed, "Take inside. I want to see if that person is the murderer of Mobai."

Ed gave Xi Siwei a sideways glance, full of the sa vigor, and turned to lead Lou Xi away.

Just as Lou Xi was about to move, she stopped and turned back to look at the unfulfilled Xi Siwei.

This person is truly pitiful.

Similarly, Lou Xi understood that pitiful people also must have their hateful aspects.

"Xi Siwei, I thought for a long ti yesterday, and I still can’t accept your proposal. I can’t go against my conscience and be with you. If you want to use those things you ntioned to threaten , then go ahead and let them co to light. If Grandpa finds out about these things, perhaps you’ll completely lose the status as the heir to the Qin Family. Grandpa might not mind handing the Qin Family over to Mo Xi."

After saying these words calmly, Lou Xi watched as Xi Siwei’s expression changed.

Perhaps he hadn’t expected Lou Xi to change so much in just one night.

Or...

"What do you know?"

Hearing Xi Siwei’s words, Lou Xi beca cautious, but her face remained lightly smiling, "What do you think I should know that you want to hide from ?"

Their gazes locked, as if Lou Xi and Xi Siwei were probing each other.

Xi Siwei was trying to figure out what Lou Xi actually knew, hence his sudden change in tone.

Lou Xi was trying to determine what Xi Siwei feared her knowing.

In the silent air, they could almost hear each other’s breathing.

"If soone wants others not to know, unless he himself doesn’t do it. Xi Siwei, you’re actually not a bad person." After saying this, Lou Xi walked inside with Ed.

Xi Siwei was left staring at Lou Xi’s back, frozen.
