Chapter 1193: Making Ands (2)
Gu Minxing’s words shook Gu Ming to the core.
Right, why had he gone soft back then, letting himself be controlled by the Gu Family Elders? He’d even been sched against by the clan, had that one-night stand with Yang iyin, got her pregnant with his child, and handed her the perfect leverage to force him into a divorce!
Just like Gu Minxing said, if he hadn’t treated the Gu Family Elders like sothing important, what the hell were those old bastards anyway!
All these years, why had he let the Gu Family Elders ride on his neck and throw their weight around? Wasn’t it just because his Uncle had raised him, and he was grateful, wanted to repay that favor?
Even a biological father doesn’t get to ddle in his son’s marriage. If you can get along, fine, live together; if you can’t, then you just pay support every month, that’s all.
He really had been too close to see clearly. Gratitude mattered, yes, but there were many ways to repay a debt. He never should have sacrificed his own happiness to do it.
"Minxing is right. From now on, Dad won’t let them interfere in our family’s affairs anymore." He turned to Hai Xue. "But, Xuexue, all these years, even though I married Yang iyin, I’ve stayed faithful to you. I’ve never touched her."
Hai Xue’s eyes flew wide open: No way.
Gu Ming knew she wouldn’t believe him, so he said, "Between and her—" He glanced at Minxing, wanting to avoid saying this in front of him, but then rembered what Minxing had just said; he wasn’t a child anymore. So he went on, "She’s only entered my bedroom twice. The first ti was after you left . I was drunk, and the Gu Family let her into my room. That ti, she put on your clothes and did her makeup like you, making mistake her for you, so... that’s how Gu Xing ca about."
Thinking of how Yang iyin had used Gu Xing to get into the Gu Family, Hai Xue felt extrely displeased; she let out a cold snort.
Gu Ming continued, "The second ti was because Dongxing’s two aunts were unhappy with her and scolded her for marrying into the Gu Family only to raise another man’s son—Yang iyin tells people outside that Gu Xing is her late ex-husband’s posthumous child. So she wanted another baby, and she plotted against again, drugging and sneaking into my room."
Hai Xue was annoyed. "She didn’t dress up as that ti, did she?"
Gu Ming gave a wry smile. "She didn’t pretend to be you that ti, but she did drug . I passed out. I don’t rember a thing that happened."
Hearing this, Hai Xue was speechless about Yang iyin as well. She actually went and did that to a man while he was unconscious?
She really couldn’t figure it out—do people even have that kind of reaction when they’re passed out?
In that kind of thing, the man’s the active one. A man can rape a corpse, but a woman raping a corpse? That seems pretty impossible, doesn’t it?
"Anyway, her sche failed. Once she realized I was more on guard against her and would never let her set up again, she simply went and found another man outside. That’s how she got pregnant with Gu Chen."
Hai Xue was shocked. "Gu Chen isn’t your son?"
Gu Ming let out a cold laugh. "She didn’t get pregnant that ti she sched against . After that, I banned her from my bedroom. How was she supposed to ’sche’ a son out of ? So—"
Hai Xue was stunned. He’d actually kept Yang iyin out of his room for over ten years?
He had really stayed faithful to her all this ti? If that was true, then the ten-plus years she’d waited in vain were worth it.
She still asked again, just to be sure. "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course it’s the truth." Gu Ming smiled bitterly. "If it weren’t, why would she have to drug and set up just to get into my room? And why would she have to go outside to find another man just to have a child?"
Hai Xue was truly moved. She had always thought she’d lost to Yang iyin, and because of that, she’d tried every possible way to step on her. She’d even let herself beco unrecognizable for it.
But she’d never imagined that Yang iyin had never really gotten Gu Ming at all. Even holding the title of Mrs. Gu, it was nothing more than a title.
