So she took the bread and handed over the pancake.
The middle-aged woman next to ngyu also took out two buns. However, after just one bite, she muttered, “It’s quite dry. I’m going to fetch so hot water.”
She stood up, asking ngyu and the woman with the child, “Do you want hot water? I can bring so back for you as well.”
Naturally, ngyu didn’t want any, but the woman holding the child quickly produced a cup: “Yes, please, that would be nice of you.”
The man wondered, “Don’t you still have water in your flask?”
The woman holding the child gave him a glare: “Isn’t it almost empty? If I don’t fill it up now, what if there’s no hot water later?”
She handed over her cup to the middle-aged woman: “Thank you, I appreciate it.”
The middle-aged woman smiled: “No trouble at all, just helping out.”
Then she asked ngyu, “And you?”
ngyu raised her own flask: “I still have water, no need to fetch any for .”
The middle-aged woman enthusiastically said, “Well, how about I add so hot water to it anyway? It’s good to have so warm water to drink at night.”
ngyu had no choice but to agree: “You’re really kind. Thanks, then.”
With that, she also passed over her flask.
This woman was definitely not the helpful type, yet she was so eager to fetch them hot water. There had to be sothing wrong.
Before long, the middle-aged woman returned with the hot water, handing the woman’s cup back to her: “Be careful, it’s quite hot.”
Then she gave ngyu her flask: “I’ve mixed in so hot water for you; it’s not too cold or too hot, just right.”
ngyu pretended not to notice: “Thank you.” She took the flask and set it aside. After finishing a pancake, she took a couple of sips from the flask—however, as she drank, she covertly moved the water into her space.
Seeing ngyu drink, the middle-aged woman’s face relaxed.
Then, she turned her attention to the woman with the child.
The woman didn’t drink herself but first poured so warm water into her man’s cup while claiming, “It tastes better with a bit of hot water mixed in.”
ngyu cursed inwardly, Silly woman!
