The sumr heat in Jin City was unbearable.
At nine o’clock in the evening, a middle-aged man, about fifty years old and slling of sweat, ran into the office of the Criminal Investigation Team at the Front Hill Public Security Branch. Looking frantic, he said that his accomplice was going to kill soone and that he wanted to report a cri.
Huang Jianjun, the deputy bureau chief on duty that day, was an experienced police officer. After hearing about the situation, his thick eyebrows furrowed. "Were you kidnapping for ransom, but now it had turned into a case of kidnapping and murder?"
The middle-aged man’s eyes were bloodshot as he said with a trembling voice, "We only wanted to earn so money. We don’t want to kill anyone."
"Where are your accomplices, and the children? Were they taken to the hospital?"
"No, no, no. Jinshui is crazy and won’t let us send them to the hospital. He has a knife, but we don’t. My brother is trying to stop him from slashing more people. I was afraid that things would get out of hand, so I hurried over to make a report."
