This day.
A confused young man walked into Ning’s office.
"Hello, Ms. Ning." He bowed his head and greeted her with a bow.
He was a friend introduced by Ning Youguang’s student and had admired her for a long ti.
"How was your journey? Was it smooth?" she asked softly.
"I ca by subway." The young man stood in front of her, full of nervousness.
"Have so water." Ning Youguang stood up, picked up a bottle from her desk, and handed it to him.
"Thank you." The young man accepted it with both hands.
"It’s quite far from your place." Ning Youguang sat down on the white chair in the middle of the office.
Under her guidance, the young man also sat down on a chair, "It’s okay, I set out quite early."
The young man smiled shyly.
His hair was a bit long, and he had a gentle face.
"What’s the issue you’ve co to discuss?" After a few simple greetings which made the young man relax slightly, Ning Youguang asked.
The young man imdiately sat up straight and answered seriously, "Ms. Ning, I don’t know what I should do or what I can do."
Ning Youguang nodded slightly, "What are you doing now?"
"I quit my job two months ago. Right now, I’m ho doing nothing," the young man said dejectedly.
"Do you like staying at ho?"
"I’m currently living with my parents, so I don’t like staying at ho, but if I were alone..." The young man thought seriously, "I think I would like it."
"How’s your relationship with your parents at ho?" Ning Youguang continued to ask.
"My parents are nice to ; it’s just that they keep pushing to find a job, which makes uncomfortable." The young man looked frustrated.
"You don’t like working?"
"I suppose so," the young man said, word by word.
"Many people don’t like working," Ning Youguang chuckled, "It’s the most natural thing."
"Yes." The young man nodded with a smile, but soon his face showed a painful expression again, "However, my parents don’t think so. They believe that a college graduate who doesn’t like working is not serious, and at ho every day, instead of letting eat well, they keep urging to find a job."
"What do you think about your parents’ views?" Ning Youguang asked in return.
"I can understand their thinking, but I really don’t like them imposing this mindset on ." The young man seed to be worn down by his parents.
Ning Youguang continued, "Do you have any hobbies or interests?"
"Yes." The young man replied quickly, "I like woodworking."
"Oh, that sounds great," Ning Youguang said with a smile.
The young man lowered his head, flattered by her praise, "It’s just casual play for ."
"What jobs have you done before?"
"IT, new dia, administrative assistant, internet companies, and so on."
"What was the longest you did?"
"An internet company, eight months; the others were all less than three months."
Looking at the young man who hung his head, full of insecurity and confusion, Ning Youguang adjusted her posture in the chair, "Our existence in the world is fundantally based on uncertainty, but we can convert this uncertainty into certainty by understanding our talents. During this process, we exist in two states: first, I know what I want, and second, I don’t know what I want."
"When we don’t know what we want, it actually ans our future, ti, and space are infinite; everything can be played with, everything can be experienced. At this ti, you can do anything." 1314
