"What are you watching?" Shi Wangyue asked.
"My brother is choosing New Year gifts for , so I’m helping him pick one." Ning Youguang looked up and gave Shi Wangyue a wink.
Shi Wangyue curled his lips, "Have you selected one?"
"I have." Ning Youguang said with a smile, "My brother just checked out."
"What about mine?" Shi Wangyue raised an eyebrow and looked at Ming Chao.
"..." Ming Chao’s originally calm expression froze.
"Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the big brother was preparing gifts for the whole family." Shi Wangyue pursed his lips, smiling with an apologetic look.
Ming Chao bowed his head, pinched his brow, and handed the flashing screen he showed Ning Youguang earlier to Shi Wangyue.
"I don’t know what you like, you can pick yourself."
Shi Wangyue happily took it, "Thanks, big brother, I’ll go ahead then."
"Mm." Ming Chao nodded, his handso face returning to calmness.
He was about to politely add "You’re welco," but realizing how proactive the other was, he figured it would be redundant, so he stayed silent.
Ten minutes later.
Ming Chao stared at the couple’s luxury wristwatches from a renowned international brand in his shopping cart, "..."

At lunch.
Shi Wangyue catered to Ning Youyu’s request to eat fresh shrimp rice cakes, leading him to prepare materials and make them together.
Carrot skin was peeled by Ning Youyu, with Shi Wangyue cutting it into cubes.
Vegetables were picked by Ning Youyu, washed, and chopped by Ning Youguang.
Then Ning Youyu beat the eggs, mixed the batter evenly, while the final step of frying was completed by Chef Shi.
Overall, this dish of fresh shrimp rice cakes was the work of three people, thus Shi Wangyue’s frying process had two onlookers all along.
"Brother Wangyue, is it ready?" Ning Youyu kept asking Chef Wangyue since the shrimp rice cakes hit the pan.
When the rice cakes in the pan visibly turned golden on both sides, Ning Youguang couldn’t help but drool, "Slls so good, no wonder kids love it."
Shi Wangyue bowed his head, chuckling quietly, as he continued to flip the shrimp rice cakes unhurriedly, "Yes, kids love it."
Finally, Ning family’s lunch hadn’t started yet.
This plate of fresh shrimp rice cakes, originally made due to Ning Youyu’s request, was eaten half by Ning Youguang alone.
...
Afternoon tea break, before dinner.
Ning Yi gathered the n of the house to put up couplets, hang lanterns, and various decorations.
Ning Youguang and Ming Jinxin sat on the couch, snacking on sunflower seeds while watching the n busy and chatting~
"You two got up so early, how’s the house set up?"
"I took pictures." Ning Youguang grabbed his phone from beside him, opened the gallery, and showed Ming Jinxin the photos taken earlier today.
"Wow, it’s full of New Year vibes." Ming Jinxin had a visibly surprised expression, "I was worried you wouldn’t do this, wanted to remind you to decorate, so the house wouldn’t be lonely during the big New Year."
"That won’t happen." Ning Youguang laughed, tossing pistachio shells into the trash, "New Year should be lively."
"Exactly." Ming Jinxin joked with a laugh, "New Year ans family sitting idly, lights being friendly, with hope for the coming year."
"I feel the sa way." Ning Youguang nodded.
"It’s the best you think that way." Ming Jinxin laughed, "I even thought, if you weren’t coming over, I’d bring your dad with your brother to your new house to warm it up for you."
"Thanks, Aunt." Ning Youguang happily smiled, "Co to Wangyue’s for dinner when you’re free, we bought lots of food."
"Sure." Ming Jinxin agreed readily.
Thinking for a mont, she asked, "How are you two getting used to living together now? How’s it going?"
She didn’t know Shi Wangyue had shalessly squeezed into Ning Youguang’s dorm at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences before, thinking they’d only recently begun living together.
"Used to it." Ning Youguang smiled warmly, "Our relationship isn’t anything special, like most people, we witness each other’s growth, accompany each other, and look forward to beautiful things."
"That’s nice." Ming Jinxin thought for a mont, speaking earnestly, "Living together involves slowly learning to coexist, being flexible not just for him, but also with his friends, family, and circle, aning you can’t just stick to what you usually like doing."
"Thank you, Aunt, for the advice." Ning Youguang showed a gentle smile, looking obedient, "I understand, I’ll learn to beco more mature."
"Sigh..." Ming Jinxin was silent a mont before suddenly sighing, "Hearing you say this makes feel odd suddenly."
"What’s wrong?" Ning Youguang asked softly, "Are you worried I might feel aggrieved?"
"A bit." Ming Jinxin answered, "Although knowing you and Shi have great feelings, you’re always considerate, as elders, we worry you might neglect yourself."
She moved slightly closer to Ning Youguang, "Your dad knew you moved in with Shi, he was upset for a long ti, kept saying how could you live in soone else’s house? He even muttered about renovating the apartnt we bought for you downstairs and letting you stay there."
Ning Youguang glanced at her father who was sticking couplets with Shi Wangyue nearby, unable to see any displeasure, chuckled lightly, "Isn’t he missing ?"
"Yes." Ming Jinxin sighed, "I miss you too, as parents, knowing daughters going to others’ hos is never happy. But we can’t hold on, daughters are destined to marry soday."
"I’m not married yet." Ning Youguang pursed her lips slightly, "It’s not soone else’s ho."
"Does it make a difference?" Ming Jinxin pursed her lips, "Living together already, marriage is just a matter of ti?"
Ning Youguang didn’t explain further, instead asked, "Has dad accepted living at Wangyue’s now?" 1314
