The Hidden Guard had not followed Xie Jingchen for long, but he understood him fairly well.

Due to the poisoning, he had been suppressing his true nature and rarely got angry easily.

Although the poison had been cured, his deanor had been established and wouldn’t easily change.

When the Eldest Young Master was angry, it ant sothing had truly provoked him.

The Hidden Guard reflected and instantly knew where he had gone wrong.

He hadn’t arrived late.

He had arrived too early!

The Eldest Young Master’s horse was nad Jue Ying.

It was a superb steed, cherished by the Eldest Young Master, how could it be allowed to run off without recovering it?

The Eldest Young Master was no longer the Eldest Young Master who would have a poison relapse just by fighting.

The only explanation was that the Eldest Young Master had deliberately let Jue Ying run off.

The Eldest Young Master no longer wanted to ride a horse.

He wanted to sit in the carriage with the Eldest Young Madam.

Only he foolishly saw Jue Ying run and unthinkingly brought Jue Ying back.

The Eldest Young Master married the Eldest Young Madam, and they had still not consummated their marriage.

Previously, the Eldest Young Master feared his poison wouldn’t be cured and his life would be short, not wanting to tie the Eldest Young Madam to Duke Zhen’s Mansion for life.

But now things were different.

He had been cured of poison, not only was he no different from ordinary people, his physique was even better.

Since he didn’t plan to let the Eldest Young Madam leave, he couldn’t continue as before.

Xie Jingchen walked over.

The Hidden Guard rapidly thought of a redy.

It was rare for the Eldest Young Madam to go out, an opportunity indeed.

Then—

The greatly favored steed, after being hit by its master’s stone, then continued to suffer a stone from the Hidden Guard.

The horse was true to its na.

Jue Ying departed swiftly.

"Master’s horse runs so fast," Xingxing said enviously.

If only she could run as fast.

Su Jin’s face was lined with frustration.

Seeing the anger dissipate from Xie Jingchen’s face.

She twitched her mouth.

If she didn’t suspect anything the first ti, she’d be foolish not to suspect now.

Seeing Xie Jingchen approach, Su Jin said, "If I were your horse, I definitely wouldn’t co back."

Too bullying to the horse!

If you want to sit in the carriage just say so, she wouldn’t disagree, why bother a horse about it?

She felt sorry for the horse.

Su Jin moved aside, "You can have the carriage, I’ll ride the horse."

Hidden Guard, "..."

Xie Jingchen, "..."

The Hidden Guard was out of options.

The horse had run off, now the Eldest Young Madam wanted to ride.

Would he have to sit in the carriage with the Eldest Young Master?

The Hidden Guard’s forehead lined with frustration that almost dripped down.

If that truly happened——

He would perish under the Eldest Young Master’s glare.

Xingxing looked at Su Jin, "Miss, can you even ride a horse?"

Su Jin, "..."

This was rather awkward.

Not at all.

But riding a horse shouldn’t be difficult, right?

"I can learn," Su Jin said.

As soon as the words left her mouth, she was wrapped around the waist and before she knew it, she was on horseback.

Su Jin struggled, "Didn’t you want to sit in the carriage?"

"I’ll teach you to ride," Xie Jingchen said.

"I don’t need your teaching," Su Jin protested.

"Don’t move," he said.

"Then don’t hold !" Su Jin gritted her teeth.

Xie Jingchen complied and loosened his arms around Su Jin’s waist.

Su Jin wanted to get down but couldn’t.

Even without Xie Jingchen behind her, she wouldn’t dare to get off.

If on the way down the horse moved...

The more she thought, the more scared she beca.

Xie Jingchen nudged the horse’s belly.

The horse ran forward.

The wind howled past her ears.

Su Jin clutched the reins, swaying back and forth.

Terrified, she involuntarily leaned backward.

Indeed, everyone needs a pillar of support.

Behind her, Xie Jingchen’s lips curved into a joyful arch.

He wrapped Su Jin in his arms.

Su Jin rolled her eyes upward but dared not say more, being on horseback, she had to bow her head.

Xie Jingchen looked at Su Jin’s delicate neck and round earlobes, deliberately exhaling, soon Su Jin’s ears blushed a light pink.

He chuckled softly.

Su Jin was grinding her teeth in hate.

Watching them disappear in the dust.

Hidden Guard, "..."

Was he supposed to sit in the carriage with the Eldest Young Madam’s maid?

The Hidden Guard was a bit tangled.

Xingxing didn’t think much of it, it wasn’t the first ti she commandeered the carriage alone.

Crawling into the carriage, Xingxing picked a comfortable spot, taking out pastries and tea, eating and drinking as she liked.

The Hidden Guard lifted the carriage curtain for a glance, then quietly took over the driver’s seat.

Casually pulling out a five-money silver ingot and tossing it to the coachman, he drove off directly.

Coachman, "..."

Looking around, he saw no one, nor any carriage.

Even with the money, he couldn’t return.

Walking back would take over an hour.

But a five-money trip was quite worthwhile.

The coachman joyfully tucked the silver ingot into his pocket.

...

Xie Jingchen took Su Jin on a half-teacup ride.

By the dense bamboo grove, the sound of combat spread.

Walking a few steps forward, they saw seven or eight n in black assaulting two n.

The duo was similarly dressed, the only difference being their boots.

One pair was embroidered with golden silk and silver thread, amidst the motion, the brocade robe revealed it conspicuously.

The owner of the boots had handso looks, beautiful deanor, noble and quintessential.

Their clothing cut by swords, yet no blood was shed.

The duo stood back to back, their swords facing the group in black.

The air was fierce with killing intent.

The wind blew through the bamboo forest, resembling waves of a sea, seemingly rolling waves of killing intent, stirring bamboo leaves.

A faint fragrance mixed with a whiff of tallic blood.

"Kill!"

With the black-clothed man’s shout, the sound of fighting resud.

Swords and shadows clashed.

Xie Jingchen, atop his horse, didn’t budge.

Until Di Qing drove the carriage over, Xie Jingchen then sprang.

From mid-air, he drew the soft sword from his waist to intercept the incoming sword against the man.

The man gratefully glanced at Xie Jingchen, "Be careful."

"Their swords are poisoned!"

The black-clad n eyed Xie Jingchen with frosty gaze, "I advise you not to ddle!"

"You’re blocking my way," Xie Jingchen said indifferently.

"Seeking death!" The black-clad man’s gaze was murderous.

Su Jin tensely watched from horseback.

Xingxing got down from the carriage to lead the horse for Su Jin, staying far to avoid accidental harm.

Though the assassins outnumbered them, with Xie Jingchen and the Hidden Guard’s assistance, the tide turned, and soon three black-clad n fell.

The remaining n hesitated.

"Retreat!"

The n in black withdrew.

The man lifted his foot.

A sword flew from the ground, impaling an assassin through the chest, causing his death.

The man glanced at Xie Jingchen.

His vision went black.

Fell directly to the ground.

Not just him, his guard was the sa.

Hidden Guard, "..."

Xie Jingchen, "..."

Xingxing helped Su Jin down from the horse, then ca over.

"Are they dead?" Xingxing asked worriedly.

Su Jin crouched down, checked their breathing, "They’re not dead, just fainted from exhaustion."

"Should we tie them to the trees?" Xingxing wondered.

She looked around, all bamboo and couldn’t hang them.

Su Jin’s face turned dour.

Thinking of the assassins who fled, she said, "Let’s take them back."
