Chapter 114. The Lord of Radiance

Faced with Angmar’s question, Fulan did not answer directly. Instead, she said,

“I don’t know... but I believe He will be far more proactive than your god.”

Angmar was sowhat confused by those words. He could not understand what Fulan ant, and he also felt that the way she spoke seed rather disrespectful toward the gods.

Fulan picked up the book in her hand and glanced at it briefly. In the end, she decided to stand on the sa side as the god that had attached itself to her.

After all, the situation had already reached this point. It was a fact that she had helped this god. She might as well see if she could gain sothing in return.

Besides, if this god refused to help, her only remaining option seed to be using Blood of the Furnace.

She was not certain how powerful the High Priest would be after transforming into a dragon, but he would certainly be stronger than Angmar had been. That was not sothing she could solve simply by casting another First-Tier spell.

More importantly, she was not even sure whether she would still remain in the Spirit Realm after using Blood of the Furnace.

Under normal circumstances, the Spirit Realm’s rejection was still tolerable. She should still be able to cast one more First-Tier spell before being expelled.

But Blood of the Furnace was not a First-Tier spell. Until she actually used a First-Tier spell, she could not confirm whether the Spirit Realm would imdiately eject her the mont she cast it.

No one had ever used such a high-tier spell within the Spirit Realm before. After all, the Spirit Realm would not even grant Trial Keys to those who had not advanced from within it.

In many regions, such people would simply be rejected outright and unable to enter the Spirit Realm at all.

Fine. If this god refused to cooperate, she could always abandon this trial entirely and just deal with the problem herself. At worst, she would stop entering the Spirit Realm in the future.

Fulan sighed.

She walked up to the statue and pressed the book against it.

In an instant, a brilliant light burst forth. It was like being hit by a flash bomb—Fulan could see nothing at all.

When the light faded, she rubbed her stinging eyes before forcing herself to look ahead.

The statue had changed.

It had transford into a form she recognized.

It was the sa statue she had once seen when she first entered the Spirit Realm—the one inside that small chapel.

The overall appearance was nearly identical.

However, the angel in the statue was now standing slightly more upright. Its hands no longer completely covered its face. Instead, its eyes were partially revealed, allowing it to look upon the great hall.

At that mont, Fulan suddenly felt the book in her hands grow warm.

She looked down.

The book itself had not changed much. Only a line of golden words now danced across its surface.

【Well done!】

From the lively movent of the letters alone, Fulan could practically feel the writer’s uncontrollable excitent. The words were even bouncing around across the cover.

But Fulan had no intention of celebrating with it.

She spoke directly.

“I helped you with your matter. Now what help can you provide in return?”

The jumping words suddenly froze, as if they had heard sothing unexpected. After a brief pause, the letters changed.

【You will obtain what you want, because it coincides with what I want. They both lie upon the sa path.】

【I have always stood beside you, Laiyi.】

【Obtaining this temple is not enough for . If I cannot stop this temple from drifting along with the dream, then when the next cycle begins, this region will return to its original state.】

【I can tell you this much—the dragon will be Second-Tier. No matter what you do, you cannot defeat it alone.】

【But with my help, you will certainly pass this trial. I will also help you establish a small connection with the Spirit Realm so that you may obtain a talent.】

Fulan knew that this god was painting a grand picture for her.

“Why must that dragon be defeated?” she asked.

Fulan had imdiately seized upon that point. Although defeating the dragon would certainly allow her to pass the trial, failure to defeat it did not necessarily an she would fail.

After all, the trial’s objective had been clearly stated—it only required an attempt.

Yet the god kept guiding her toward defeating the dragon, which made her suspicious of its true purpose.

【Because this place is the Radiant Dreamscape of the Spirit Realm. Only radiant dreams are preserved here.】

【If that dragon destroys Monsa, the dream will turn into tragedy. The entire dream will collapse and revert to its earliest form.】

【Before I arrived, another god had already made this dream ‘radiant.’ The Spirit Realm has recorded that radiant version of the dream, and it will return to that god’s possession.】

【This benefits both of us. I will gain this dream and secure a foothold within the Spirit Realm.】

【It will not harm you. What I give you will far exceed what you give .】

Fulan raised an eyebrow and remained noncommittal.

She simply knew too little to determine whether the god was lying.

But rationally speaking, cooperating with this god was still her best option.

First, she had already invested too much into this trial. The sunk cost alone made it difficult for her to accept walking away empty-handed.

Second, the god’s attitude had been relatively friendly. It spoke directly and had already revealed most of the important information.

If it had begun with sothing like 【Mind your words when speaking to a god】, she would probably have smashed the statue on the spot and figured out another way to complete the trial afterward.

Finally, all of this was happening within the Spirit Realm. If anything truly went wrong, she could simply return to the Material Realm. Nothing here could harm her.

The Spirit Realm existed precisely as the barrier separating the Material Realm from the Astral Realm.

All gods originated from the Astral Realm, yet they could hardly interfere with the Material Realm because the Spirit Realm’s barrier was simply too powerful.

Fulan sighed.

Things had co this far. There was no choice but to continue.

“Alright then,” she said. “What do you want to do?”

【Open the book to the middle, then hold it with both hands in front of you. Do not move.】

Although the instruction seed strange, Fulan followed it anyway. She opened the book to a random page without even looking at it and held it out in front of her.

Once again, dazzling light filled the hall, turning everything inside the temple into a field of white.

But this ti, the light did not sting her eyes. It felt soft and gentle.

Within that light, Fulan saw golden patterns appear upon the pages of the book, weaving together into characters she could not understand. This ti she could not comprehend their aning at all.

Through the glow, she faintly saw the silhouette of an angel.

She could not see its face clearly, only its pure white robes and wings as pale as snow.

At the sa ti, she noticed that the yellow robe she was wearing had begun to change. Simple patterns appeared across its surface, and its color gradually shifted toward a lighter shade.

A soft female voice flowed gently into her ears, warm and soothing.

“My na is—the Lord of Radiance.”
