Chapter 130. Preparing to Depart

The Apprentice City of Lodris was always bustling with people, as the large population of apprentices required food, clothing, and a constant supply of low-tier magical materials.

As a result, the city gates were very wide, enough to allow five carriages to travel side by side. Despite this, there was still a slight traffic jam every day.

The city walls weren’t particularly high in this province, which rarely faced attacks. Their primary purpose was to defend against nearby magical creatures, but these creatures had nearly disappeared.

The walls, standing at just five ters tall, had not been repaired for many years, leaving them pockmarked and crumbling.

Fulan stood at the gates of the Apprentice City, carrying a large bundle, and couldn't help but sigh, wishing she had a spatial ring.

Unfortunately, she had even asked Habos about it, but he had never seen one himself, remarking that if such an item existed, it would be a great convenience.

According to Habos, the current mainstream spatial technology was expansion technology, which expanded an existing space, making it easier to expand if the original space was sufficiently large.

For instance, the classroom Habos had rented for weapon forging was simply an expanded space, tripled in size, though it still required various maintenance.

Using this technology, trying to fit a large space into a small ring was nearly impossible with current technology.

So, Fulan had to leave behind so things and only took the essentials for her journey: several books, so precious materials, the broken book she had brought back from the Spirit Realm, and weapons.

Of course, she also took all the gold she had earned in the Apprentice City—246 gold, 43 silver, and 59 copper.

She kept the money safely hidden beneath her robes.

In addition to this, she had also canceled all the orders she had taken in the Apprentice City.

This included orders for crafting spell rings, producing potions, and several uncompleted orders for enchanted daggers.

In the end, there were still over a hundred daggers left unproduced, so she simply canceled the orders.

It’s worth ntioning that she had lted all the enchanted daggers she had at ho into White Mountain Copper and sold them as raw materials, recovering five gold coins in the process.

She canceled the dagger orders mainly because her Runeology had reached the Extraordinary level, and doing these tasks felt too trivial. Therefore, she decided to stop.

After reaching the Extraordinary level in Runeology, Fulan had unlocked a new class on her panel:

[Class: Ancient Rune Warrior (1 Star)]

Description: A warrior who fights using ancient runes, which are far more complex and powerful than contemporary runes, retaining key information that modern runes lack.

Requirents:

1. Runeology (Mastery).

2. ntal Power: 4.

3. Win ten battles using runes.

4. Draw a true ancient rune.

Note: You already have Rune Warrior (Half-Star), so the first three requirents are complete. You only need to complete the fourth to unlock this class.

Fulan thought it was great that her Rune Warrior class had progressed, but she lacked Physique points to bolster her weaknesses.

Though she no longer relied on runes in battle—since casting runes took ti, and she preferred using spells to deliver an extra strike—she hadn’t used rune combat much recently.

When Fulan saw the fourth condition, she was puzzled. What did it an to draw a true ancient rune?

After so research, she found nothing and decided to leave it for now.

Fulan stood in line to exit the city. She didn’t rush and was content to wait her turn.

However, the people ahead of her didn’t think the sa. As soon as they saw the robe she was wearing, they imdiately stepped behind her.

This was the first ti Fulan had felt the gap in status. She had always stayed at ho before, and even after becoming an official mage, she continued to make spell rings for the apprentices. She hadn’t revealed her official mage status back then.

While the people of Lodris had so respect for apprentices, it wasn’t to the point where they feared them. They simply didn’t want to engage in obvious conflict.

But now, Fulan could clearly feel the weight of her official mage title.

As she looked at the people in front of her, she noticed them glance back when they heard the movent behind them. They then stepped back, maintaining a three-ter distance.

The people behind her didn’t dare get too close either.

Fulan had barely reached the front of the line, and within a minute, it was her turn.

"Greetings, Mage!"

The guard stood up straight, slightly bowed his head, and didn’t dare look Fulan in the eye.

Fulan handed over her materials. Even though the title of an official mage was high, she still had to register as required by the Alliance.

Of course, rules were rules, but implentation was a different matter. It wasn’t like you could have mages beco guards, as they might hurl a Fireball at any minor provocation, with no place to argue.

So it all depended on the mages’ self-discipline. Those with good temperants would hand over their materials and let you pass after a couple of questions. Those with bad temperants could easily dismiss you without hesitation.

However, if sothing major happened later and required the Alliance's intervention, the Alliance could always refer to your registration records.

"I’m heading to Ged Town, going to the Antir region, and then to the Northern Society," Fulan said.

The guard quickly wrote everything down, then handed her a stamped docunt.

"Alright, Mage. Please take care."

Fulan clicked her tongue, surprised at how quickly the process went. Once she had her official title, everything beca much more convenient.

She didn’t linger, taking the rest of her belongings and walking out of the city gate.

As she reached the gate, she suddenly realized sothing was missing.

"How am I supposed to travel without a transport?"

She slapped her forehead, rembering this important detail.

"No wonder Elan recomnded a town outside the city that sells horses. So this is where it is."

Though there were many strange modes of transportation in this world, they weren’t sold in the Apprentice City. So, as a first-tier mage, Fulan could only buy a mount.

"Let’s go there and at least get so transportation. It’s better than walking."

She turned back and looked at the large sign above the gate, which read [Apprentice City Lodris].
