Chapter 147. The Hunt Completed

Fulan watched those adventurers huffing and puffing as they carried that enormous scroll down the mountain, then scratched her head.

“I finally managed to fool them into going down. If they were watching from nearby, it would be hard for to perform properly.”

Fulan currently had a whole pile of spells from other schools on her. Although those people most likely would not recognize them, just in case, she had still sent them all away.

Then she turned to look at the Earth Drake, which was currently striding along the mountain on its short little legs at a slow pace.

Fulan slowly rode her black horse over, not drawing too much of the Earth Drake’s attention.

And yet, the Earth Drake imdiately noticed her. Its whole body turned around, its draconic eyes widening as it stared at her.

At first, when it saw soone approaching, it had been sowhat tense. But after seeing that it was just a single person riding a horse, its massive heart relaxed at once.

It was not afraid of lone humans like this.

There had been two previous occasions when solitary First-Tier adventurers had co to hunt it.

But the outco had been obvious. It had beaten both of them so badly that they fled in panic.

Their attacks had amounted to little more than scratching an itch and knocking off a few scales.

Teams of adventurers were different. Although not all of them were as individually strong as those two lone hunters, they carried all sorts of strange weapons that could inflict considerable damage on its body.

Moreover, those adventurers covered each other, making it difficult for it to seriously injure them.

But this ti, as it watched Fulan slowly approach on horseback, one rider and one horse alone, it snorted a scornful puff of hot air through its nostrils. Then the entire dragon planted itself in place and let out a roar at Fulan.

The roar shot straight into the sky, causing the black horse’s movents to falter for a mont.

The nearby rubble was blasted into the air by the shockwave, and throughout the valley rang the sounds of shattered stones continuously falling into the depths below.

The Earth Drake bared its sharp fangs and charged straight at Fulan. Its enormous weight caused the ground beneath its feet to cave in with every step, and a roaring wind filled her ears.

As Fulan felt the earth trembling, her Elental School expertise allowed her to sense the earth elents within the ground leaping wildly.

This was the Earth Drake.

As a draconic creature, when it fought, it would animate the earth elents, making them far more destructive.

Once it charged, the earth elents would erupt upward along the path of its advance, while also coating nearby creatures in heavy earth-elent energy, making swift movent difficult.

Seeing this, Fulan flipped herself off the horse and patted its head, telling it to run quickly.

The black horse had long wanted to flee. If not for the confidence Fulan had given it during the journey over the past few days, it would already have bolted with her on its back.

Such a huge creature, and that roar was so terrifying. If it did not run, it would be betraying the fine instincts passed down by its ancestors.

The black horse galloped wildly over the trembling ground. After putting so distance between itself and the battlefield, it glanced back.

Only to find that Fulan was still standing where she was, waiting for the Earth Drake to charge at her.

Its pace slowed slightly.

Its master was not about to die like this, was she? It still did not want to lose its food...

Just as the Earth Drake was about to slam into her, Fulan finally moved.

She first cast the First-Tier spell she had learned long ago, 【Equipnt Augntation】. She had never used this spell since learning it.

Because the runes she had previously inscribed onto her longsword were too powerful, she could now cast this spell through the longsword in her hand.

She felt her Physique rise slightly, but more importantly, a faint rune-light appeared over her hand.

This spell was simply too underwhelming. Even after using it to enhance the steam engine, the boost to her Physique still fell short of what she could achieve by directly enhancing herself with ntal Power.

So ever since learning it, she had left it gathering dust, until Habos handed her that sheet containing First-Tier spells. Only then did she understand what this spell was actually ant to be used for.

Back when Habos had been at the First Tier, he had created several First-Tier spells, but they were all support spells, with no direct offensive spells among them.

That was because his perspective had not been broad enough at the ti, which limited him in that way.

Once he reached the Second Tier, it beca even harder for him to develop First-Tier spells, because his ntal Power was no longer on the sa level.

The result was that although the spells he created were supposedly First-Tier, only a Second-Tier mage could actually use them.

Then Fulan cast another spell she had obtained from Habos, 【Equipnt Overload】, onto the longsword in her hand.

The light erupting from the sword far surpassed what it had looked like when she had tested it in her room. The progress bar within the runes rapidly began to fill.

In truth, the way she was using it was vastly different from how Habos had used it back when he was in the First Tier.

She guessed that Habos had probably forged a high-grade staff at the ti, then cast all the spells onto that staff.

Moreover, Habos had originally been a mber of the Elental School, famous for spell power.

With that entire set of enhancents stacked together, she estimated that even a single Fireball would have been enough to shatter every First-Tier defensive spell.

But she did not have such a staff at hand, so she could only substitute her longsword instead.

Fortunately, that substitute did not seem to be much worse.

The longsword in her hand erupted with a dazzling radiance, so bright that even the daylight seed dark by comparison.

The charging Earth Drake also sensed the terrifying fluctuations coming from the sword in Fulan’s hand, but it was already too late for it to stop.

Lastly, Fulan cast 【Sacred Strike】 once more, attaching the radiance belonging to the Lord of Radiance to the longsword.

The sword’s light did not increase in the slightest, yet it sohow seed even more holy.

This was one of the little tricks Fulan had discovered. The divine arts she used would produce a special reaction with the runes on the sword, thereby strengthening the light it released.

Fulan felt that the progress bar on the runes had already overflowed. Her ntal Power was even spilling beyond the sword itself, scattering points of light across the ground.

She held the sword in her right hand and assud a stance prepared for a slash. Then she directly released the runes and cut toward the Earth Drake.

In an instant, light exploded forth.

The Earth Drake felt only that an incomparably sharp blade had sliced across its body at the waist, severing it in two. The blade bit viciously into its flesh, draining all strength from its body.

Although all strength had left its body, causing it to lose balance mid-charge and collapse to the ground, the trendous inertia still carried it hurtling toward Fulan.

Fulan dodged to the side, allowing the Earth Drake’s body to slide across the ground until friction finally stripped away all its montum and brought it to a stop, leaving behind only weak gasps for breath as great quantities of thick blood poured from its draconic body.

Fulan was not surprised by such power.

She estimated that, with all those enhancents stacked together, it was not much weaker than one of the six Radiances the Lord of Radiance had granted her.

That kind of attack could knock a Second-Tier dragon out of the sky. Naturally, it could also kill a magical beast that rely possessed draconic blood.

It was just that an attack like this had consud half of her ntal Power, and...

She looked at the longsword in her hand.

The runes had already dimd. After being over-released like this, they would probably need at least three days to recover.

And several cracks had already appeared on the longsword. Clearly, ordinary steel was incapable of enduring such a violent release of power.
