Chapter 179. Sticking Close
Only at this mont did Connor finally display the terrifying strength of a Second-Tier knight.
Although the territory supporting the Bloodwolf Knights was not particularly large, it was still enough to push Connor’s power into the Second Tier.
And once one reached the Second Tier, the advantage over the First Tier beca enormous.
Connor swung his heavy greatsword so quickly that saying it struck three tis in a second would still have been an understatent. As the broad blade swept through the air, it carried traces of frost with it.
In barely five seconds, all five of Fulan’s shield-spell rings were shattered, and she lost the protection of her shields.
Of course, Fulan had not done nothing during those five seconds either. Her blade had been wreathed in Sunfla, and Connor, not yet understanding the mystery behind it, had actually slamd his greatsword directly against Fulan’s longsword.
Only when the sound of tal hitting the ground rang out, and the weapon in his hand suddenly felt a little lighter, did Connor realize what had happened.
He swiftly retreated and opened so distance, inadvertently giving Fulan a chance to catch her breath, then hurriedly looked at the greatsword he had used for many years.
Several large chips had appeared along the edge, and the entire tip of the blade had been shaved away, leaving behind a smooth, slanted end.
Every damaged spot was blackened, and each still radiated a faint trace of heat.
Connor frowned. The technique on the other party’s longsword was far too powerful. Even bone from a First-Tier magical beast could not withstand it. After only a few collisions, his weapon had already been reduced to this state.
That ant he could no longer let this weapon directly clash against hers, or he would lose it entirely.
Connor lunged forward again. Facing Fulan’s attack, he did not dodge at all and simply allowed her red-glowing longsword to slash directly into his armor.
The black armor was like paper beneath Fulan’s blade, splitting open with a huge gash. The sword continued downward before seeming to strike sothing hard.
At that sa mont, Connor’s greatsword smashed heavily into Fulan’s shoulder, sending countless fragnts of rock flying and scattering across the ground. Fulan imdiately jumped back to widen the distance.
Fulan turned her head and glanced at her shoulder. Her Hard Scale Rock had long since advanced to the Extraordinary rank, and with the added boost of 【Earth Dragon’s Breath】, it had still only barely managed to block that seemingly simple strike from the other side.
Then she lifted her head and looked at the place where she had just struck Connor.
There, a patch of scorched skin had been exposed, but the wound did not look deep at all.
Connor smiled. As a Second-Tier knight, the defensive strength of his body had long since surpassed that of the armor he wore. Wearing armor was rely a way to block a bit more damage.
An attack like that was, to Connor, like using a thin wooden stick to strike an ordinary person.
Fulan knew she could not keep going like this, so she sprang straight up from where she stood.
Connor watched as Fulan leaped three ters into the air. He was just about to follow when he noticed sothing else.
He saw Fulan lightly twist at a slight angle in midair, plant a foot against the stone wall at the side of the gorge, and then continue diving forward through the air straight into the group of knights behind him.
Connor did not rashly follow. He understood what technique Fulan had just used. It was Elven Swordsmanship, which allowed absurd midair changes of direction.
If he followed her into the air, she would most likely twist aside in midair and evade his attack.
Connor imdiately turned around and rushed the other way. When he saw that the crowd still had not scattered even after Fulan plunged into it, he frowned.
“Spread out at once! What are you doing?”
Connor roared. As he rushed forward, he directly shoved aside one of the knights blocking his path.
The mont the knights saw Fulan arrive, they t her head-on and launched their attacks.
In these knights’ eyes, Fulan was only that much. They were all First Tier, so how much stronger than them could she possibly be?
They had already thrown out of their minds the fact that Fulan had instantly killed the knight who charged her earlier. The thought had barely remained in their heads for more than a mont.
Now they had only one idea left: attack. Attack.
One knight viciously swung the greatsword in his hand at Fulan, but his blade seed to hit nothing at all. When he looked down at his weapon, all he saw was a greatsword whose entire blade had been cut off.
At that mont, Fulan used Swift Wind Slash. Two slashes swept across that knight’s body with astonishing speed, and the Sunfla burned everything along their path.
When Fulan turned around, she unleashed another Sunfla Slash, destroying another knight’s weapon, while the knight behind her had already been severed into three pieces.

The flas had seemingly seared every wound shut, leaving only a few drops of blood to trickle out slowly.
With the techniques of a Sunfla Knight and the runes on her longsword, Fulan managed to kill three n in rapid succession.
Only then did the knights regret their earlier recklessness. It was as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over their fury, forcing them to retreat and clear space for Connor and Fulan’s duel.
“There are seven left.” Fulan swept a glance around her. There were still seven knights surrounding her.
At that mont, Connor’s face was as dark as water. He had never imagined that Fulan would slaughter three knights from his order as easily as cutting vegetables.
He suddenly struck. A blood-drenched wolf’s head flashed across his greatsword, and then the entire blade ca crashing down toward Fulan with a force that seed capable of destroying everything.
The strike was simply too fast. Fulan could not block it at all and could only watch as the entire greatsword smashed into her body just as she was trying to dodge.
“Hiss!” Pain imdiately shot through Fulan’s body. She frowned. This was one of the few tis she had been wounded since coming to this other world.
Fortunately, Fulan had 【Hard Scale Rock】 protecting her, which removed a great deal of the damage.
She had also used the reinforcent of her ntal Power just now, greatly increasing her Physique.
Even so, she had only managed to withstand the blow by paying the price of a savage wound.
Within the exposed injury, a faint glimr shone from deep inside the flesh. That was Fulan’s trait, 【Light Within the Blood】, which could heal her wounds.
Connor stared in disbelief at the wound caused by his near full-force strike. It was only this much.
Normally, once a mage’s protective spells were broken, their physical abilities were little better than those of an ordinary apprentice knight. By all logic, that strike should have split Fulan cleanly in two.
Yet all it had left was a savage wound. That ant Fulan’s physical abilities far exceeded those of an ordinary First-Tier knight.
Fulan leaped away quickly. While evading Connor’s next attack, the two rings on her hand gave off green and yellow light respectively.
These were the two spell rings she had prepared for her First-Tier spells, 【Howling Gale】 and 【Earth Uplift】. They could help her cast both spells within 0.5 seconds.
She faced those knights, and the magical fluctuations around her began to surge violently.
