Chapter 191. Movents in the Spirit Realm
In the Spirit Realm, within a Domain blanketed in light, only a single landmass floated at the very heart of that radiance.
At the center of that landmass stood a mountaintop, and atop that peak were several magnificent buildings.
This place had once been the center of Monsa City, where the priests had lived. But after Monsa City slew the Evil Dragon, it had beco the seat of another god.
Inside the original temple, Lyle was reporting his work to the god he worshipped.
A faint glow radiated from his body, and not a single draconic trait remained visible. This was the reward granted to him by the god he worshipped, allowing him to freely control the draconic traits on his body.
At the sa ti, a powerful aura surrounded him. If anyone had been present, they would have recognized at once that he had already reached the peak of the First-Tier Professional level.
“I found that Domain hidden within the darkness, but I cannot occupy it by myself...”
Before him stood the statue of the Lord of Radiance. The statue showed no movent at all and rely listened quietly to Lyle’s report.
After Lyle finished recounting the task the Lord of Radiance had assigned him, he lowered his head slightly and waited in silence.
When a streak of light shot from the statue’s eyes, Lyle received the oracle of the Lord of Radiance.
【Bring all believers skilled in battle. I will grant them the ability to freely control draconic power. In return, they shall conquer that Domain for .】
Lyle imdiately understood. He silently raised his head, his eyes filled with excitent.
From the mont he had returned to report this matter, he had already been hoping that he would be allowed to march against that Domain as one of its soldiers.
Even so, a trace of hesitation remained on his face. He hesitated for a long while before finally voicing the thoughts in his heart.
“My Lord, may I ask where the emissary who led us to slay the Evil Dragon has gone?”
“If Your emissary could lead us once more in the assault on that Domain fallen into darkness...”
“Then we would surely spread Your radiance across that entire Domain.”
Lyle spoke very clearly. After the emissary of the Lord of Radiance had disappeared, all of Monsa City had fallen into a period of unrest.
If the believers of the Lord of Radiance had not contributed the most to the slaying of the Evil Dragon, and if Lyle had not later been granted power sufficient to crush all opposition, the entirety of Monsa City might have descended into chaos.
Even now, though the situation had stabilized sowhat, Lyle still felt rather powerless.
He had also taken part in that campaign to slay the Evil Dragon, and he had perford bravely as well. But even under such circumstances, there were still people who questioned him.
Those who questioned him did not co from the priestly order of Monsa City’s forr god, nor from ambitious schers among the common people.
Rather, they were fellow believers of the Lord of Radiance. They questioned why Lyle alone had received the Lord’s favor.
Where had their forr emissary gone? Where was the emissary who had led them in overthrowing the priests’ rule and slaying the Evil Dragon?
They believed that they were no different from Lyle. Since Lyle could receive the blessing of the Lord of Radiance, why could they not?!
That was the true source of Lyle’s helplessness. In the end, he simply had no prestige, and the achievents he had accomplished were not yet enough to make everyone sincerely acknowledge him.
Moreover, all the believers of the Lord of Radiance knew very well what sort of person Lyle had originally been.
He had been nothing more than an ordinary resident of Monsa City, from a family that had fard for generations.
After angering the priests, he had been driven into the God-Forsaken Land. Then, through sheer luck, he had beco one of the first people to drink the Divine Water.
That sort of history made it very difficult for those believers to feel true respect for Lyle. After all, he was simply too close to them.
But the Lord’s previous emissary had been different. There had been no trace of her anywhere in Monsa City. She had been soone sent to Monsa by the god.
She had led the very first group of believers in seizing control of Monsa City. She was the one sent by the god to save the people of Monsa.
In the end, she had even led the people of Monsa City in killing the Evil Dragon that the forr High Priest had beco.
And once the Evil Dragon had died, she had vanished directly afterward. If she was not one chosen by the god, then who was?
And so, among the believers, people were now all clamoring for the forr emissary to return, while Lyle should simply go and serve as a soldier.
Among them, so truly hoped that Fulan would return, while others wished to use that excuse to seize power for themselves. But in the face of Lyle’s formidable strength, they ultimately failed to stir up any real trouble.
This ti, Lyle had to wait even longer. By the ti he flexed his sowhat stiff arms, the statue finally flashed with a trace of light.
【Pay no attention to the doubts of the believers. Once you lead them in taking that pitch-black Domain, they will naturally be convinced.
As for My emissary, she is carrying out a far more important task, one far more important than yours.
She will return to Monsa and lead the believers here to ascend to the Radiant Heaven, but that ti has not yet co.
Go and do what you ought to do now. In truth, this will not be difficult for you.】
After seeing the oracle given to him by the Lord of Radiance, Lyle finally let go of the worries in his heart. He strode forward, shut the temple doors behind him, and walked out.
anwhile, the statue within the temple remained fixed on Lyle’s departing back until the doors were fully closed.
At this mont, high above in the Astral Realm,
the Lord of Radiance, after carefully choosing His words and sending them to Lyle, thought of another matter.
It was that girl whose na He was not even sure was Laiyi.
To be honest, after assigning the task to Laiyi, He had planned to wait for her to gather believers for Him in the Material Realm so that He could directly gain a Foothold there.
If that happened, then when He projected His power into the Spirit Realm, He would not have had to expend such trendous effort rely to send down the tiniest fraction of His strength.
Yet even now, he still felt that the book he had given Fulan had shown no sign of activity whatsoever, and he had no idea what had happened.
Through His perception, all He could sense was that His emissary was still alive and well, and that her strength was growing rapidly. On the surface, everything seed fine.
But compared to Laiyi’s performance in the Spirit Realm, it was rather lacking. He still rembered that at the ti, he had rely been casting a wide net, hoping to find so opportunity to open an entrance into the Spirit Realm.
Yet Laiyi had completed that task in only three days, driving that neither-dragon-nor-human thing out of that dreamscape and giving Him an unprecedented opportunity.
After she successfully seized that dreamscape, He resolved to devote Himself properly to His affairs in the Spirit Realm.
Thus, He deliberately expended trendous effort to carve out a new great Domain within the Spirit Realm.
Just as He had been planning for Laiyi to develop believers in the Material Realm and then project His power into the Spirit Realm so that He could expand rapidly there,
for so unknown reason, Laiyi seed to have ceased all activity and no longer entered the Spirit Realm at all.
And if she did not develop believers, then He had no way at all to receive information from the Material Realm now.
But what could He do? At present, He could not sense anything from the Material Realm whatsoever. All He could do was hope that Laiyi would develop believers as quickly as possible.
“She must be working hard to develop my believers, yes? It is only that preaching in the Material Realm is sowhat difficult, so she has no choice but to proceed cautiously and think in the long term,” the Lord of Radiance thought optimistically.
