Chen Feng hadn’t expected Qin Zhen to be interested in Wu ngting.
Although the two of them were on good terms, he still felt a bit uncomfortable and shook his head imdiately, "Not her. The one I’m talking about is Lin Wan. She’s interested in you. If you’re interested in her too, I can formally introduce you two."
Chen Feng wasn’t lying. Wu ngting really wasn’t interested in Qin Zhen, nor did he have any intention of introducing Wu ngting to Qin Zhen.
"Lin Wan, huh." Qin Zhen sounded sowhat disappointed and asked a little stubbornly, "What about Wu ngting? Does she have a boyfriend? If not, you could help to match us up."
Chen Feng rolled his eyes and said flatly, "She’s always had a crush on . She’s chasing at the mont, it’s just that I haven’t decided whether to accept her or not. So, just give up on that idea for now."
"Damn! Didn’t you just say you already had two girlfriends?" Qin Zhen asked a bit angrily.
"Those two are kept won; they don’t count as proper girlfriends. It’s just in na. But with Wu ngting, it’s serious. She really likes and wants sothing real with , the kind that involves marriage and having kids. I’ve just gotten divorced, so I’m not ready to accept her yet. For now, we can only be friends."
Chen Feng ultimately couldn’t bear to give Wu ngting away to soone else, even to a good friend, so he was quite frank about it.
"You’re just squatting on the toilet without shitting, aren’t you?" Qin Zhen grumbled.
"You’re the toilet!" Chen Feng retorted unapologetically, "Penalty drink one can, or I’m going to recount this to Wu ngting when I get back."
Qin Zhen didn’t reply but still opened a can and drank it down in one go, then quickly devoured two skewers of pork loin and let out a burp.
"How the heck does a pure girl like Wu ngting end up chasing after a guy like you? Is it because you’re rich now?" Qin Zhen asked with a mix of envy and jealousy.
Chen Feng smiled proudly, "Mainly because I’m good-looking and have personal charm."
Qin Zhen let out another burp at this and laughed, "You’re still bullshitting just like before."
Chen Feng wasn’t offended and just smiled, took a sip of beer, and continued, "I’m really not. To be honest, I’m not sure why she likes so much and is so adamant about it. I’ve clearly turned her down several tis, but she just won’t give up. There’s nothing I can do."
"That’s impossible," Qin Zhen shook his head incredulously, "Would she fancy a divorced guy like you if she didn’t know about your money? Girls these days are very pragmatic. Without money, and you’re not that good-looking, and you’re quite a bit older than her, what does she see in you?"
Chen Feng glared back irritably, "Speak with so conscience. Am I not handso? Don’t spout nonsense, okay? I am quite handso. Back in our university days, I was at least considered campus-hunk material."
Qin Zhen laughed, "You said it yourself, in your university days. Now, look at yourself, weighing 170. Chubby as a dumpling."
"Maybe she likes just the way I am now, chubby and all? Anyway, when she first confessed her feelings to , she definitely had no idea I was rich. I wasn’t wealthy at the ti. But she had set her heart on , plus we bumped into each other a few tis by chance. The most outrageous ti was when I took my mistress on a trip to the Northeast, and we just happened to run into her there. What do you call that if not fate? Maybe she also felt that we were ant to be, and that’s why she clung to and wouldn’t let go."
Chen Feng’s tale left Qin Zhen half-believing, his face full of envy.
"You must be kidding . Taking your mistress on a trip to the Northeast and running into her? And she didn’t know that woman was your mistress?"
"She knew. I was honest with her at the ti, telling her that my mistress was soone I was keeping."

"Then she was really unhappy. She felt she was better than my mistress and more suitable for , and continued to pursue relentlessly. Chen Feng shook his head, "I’m not. You know , I wouldn’t lie about this kind of thing. It is what it is."
"All right. I’m so jealous after hearing that. Pure girls like Wu ngting aren’t common. Stumbling upon one is like hitting the jackpot. I think if you’re interested in her, you better hold on tight. Otherwise, don’t bla for swooping in later."
"Get lost," Chen Feng responded irritably while rolling his eyes, "As usual, you’re up to no good, eyeing a brother’s woman even before things are over."
"Is she your woman now?" Qin Zhen raised an eyebrow and said, "You don’t want her, yet you won’t let anyone else have her? Besides, it’s better for the water to flow into your own field than soone else’s. Rather than letting soone else benefit, better it be a friend."
"Anyway, you can’t touch Wu ngting. You just said yourself that you’re not one for long-term. If it’s just playing around, it’s nothing for you to up and leave when it’s over, but a woman as committed as her won’t be able to walk away so easily. That’s a main reason I’m reluctant to accept her just yet. She’s serious about relationships and aims for marriage and kids. If it’s just playing around, that’s harming her. I don’t want to hurt her, but I also can’t bear to let her go, which is why I’ve been dragging things out like this."
Qin Zhen, at a loss for words after hearing this, grabbed a can of beer, tilted his head back, and finished it in one gulp, then carelessly tossed the empty can onto the ground.
