Now reading: Chapter 107 - 91 Out of One’s Hands from After my divorce, I started to have good luck, a Drama novel by Anpingtai.

Regarding Xiao Ya’s idea of opening a milk tea shop, Chen Feng did not refuse.

He still said that she had to present a viable business plan and budget to him, and only after his approval would he invest the money.

A few hundred thousand, or even a million, was nothing to the current Chen Feng.

He mainly didn’t want to be blatantly cheated, or throw his money into the water.

Chen Feng’s attitude eased Xiao Ya’s worries a bit.

She had mainly been afraid that upon hearing about the nearly million needed, Chen Feng would get angry and refuse to invest.

Hearing Chen Feng’s attitude now, she felt a lot more settled.

Otherwise, continuing to work undercover at the milk tea shop would be aningless, and it was exhausting with not very high wages.

Xiao Ya said emotionally, "My dear, thank you so much. You are truly my savior. If the milk tea shop gets started, I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life."

That was her sincere sentint; at least at that mont, she truly appreciated Chen Feng. Otherwise, she wouldn’t even know if she could ever afford a house and live a wealthy life there.

"You’re making too much of this. What’s all this ’grateful for a lifeti’? If I put money into your milk tea shop, it’s not a gift. I want to be clear about that. I will lend you a portion, and the rest will be angel investnt."

Chen Feng spoke like a straightforward, no-nonsense man, laying his cards on the table.

Xiao Ya wasn’t angry; she hugged his neck, pressing her upper body against him, her lips only ten centiters from his ear, and said with a chuckle, "How much can you lend at most? How about a million, interest-free?"

Chen Feng thought to himself, as if you could be that lucky.

"A million is out of the question. You just said that the initial investnt would be around three hundred thousand. The major expenses will be the shop rent and transfer fee, which should be controlled at three hundred thousand for the longest lease of one year. That’s roughly six to seven hundred thousand in total. So, I plan to lend you the three hundred thousand needed for the initial investnt, interest-free. Whatever amount is needed later, I would also provide, but as an investnt. We can negotiate the specific shareholding later."

Chen Feng laid out his thoughts.

He really didn’t care too much about those tens of thousands. Even the three hundred thousand he was lending her, he hadn’t thought about getting back.

But proper is proper, how long had they known each other? He couldn’t just give away tens to hundreds of thousands without expecting anything in return—that would be foolish.

Besides, he hoped that his own lucky streak could help her, allowing her to get rich with him.

In doing so, his intentions were truly kind.

After all, she was his woman, and even though they were not deeply connected, Chen Feng was always a softhearted good guy who didn’t want to see her suffer in the future.

Xiao Ya had indeed considered borrowing tens of thousands interest-free from him, but later realized that was unrealistic, so she half-jokingly ntioned it earlier to test the waters.

Now that she got such a response, although it was different from what she had expected, it was still acceptable.

Three hundred thousand, interest-free for only a short period, was even lower than so bank loan rates, and could be considered the lowest standard interest rate among private lending.

As for Chen Feng’s investnt in shares, that was her initial Plan B. It was a safety net in case of loss, preventing her from going bankrupt imdiately.

However, after going to work today and getting a rough idea of the operation of the milk tea shop, she felt that as long as it started, it would be a sure profit and did not really want Chen Feng to invest in shares.

But now Chen Feng was insisting on taking shares, she could only accept it. Otherwise, where would the startup capital co from?

"Alright. I have no objections. So, it’s settled then."

Xiao Ya thought for almost a minute and ultimately agreed.

Chen Feng was sowhat disappointed that it took her so long to agree.

It was clear that she truly hoped to get money from him to start the business at first, wasn’t she treating him like a sucker to be swindled?

If it weren’t for the substantial relationship established between them, and the fact that Xiao Ya was just as good as Sun Xiaorui in certain aspects, plus Sun Xiaorui was not coming back soon, Chen Feng would almost wish to terminate their employee relationship.

"What’s wrong? Not happy anymore?"

Xiao Ya, who still had so tact, noticed that Chen Feng’s expression was off and imdiately tilted her head in a coquettish manner, asking him. Then, she leaned her body against his chest.

As a woman, she knew how to use her advantages well.

She wasn’t wearing anything, so when she pressed herself against him like that, Chen Feng imdiately felt it.

"It’s nothing. I just think you have too strong an ambition for your career."

"While I’m still young, I definitely have to work hard and strive. Otherwise, I can’t always depend on you n, right?"

She wasn’t wrong. Chen Feng couldn’t refute that.

"Alright. I just hope that in the future, when you devote yourself to your career, you can still get along with properly."

"Of course, I will get along with you. You are my sugar daddy now, the biggest investor in my future business. I will definitely serve you well, to make sure you’re satisfied."

As she spoke, she began to tease Chen Feng, who felt rather helpless; it wasn’t like he had much choice...

The next morning when he woke up, the space next to him was empty.

Checking the ti at 8:30 a.m., Chen Feng, as usual, stayed lying in bed and started checking his phone.

No phone calls, just several unread WeChat ssages from Lin Wan and a text ssage from Qin Zhen.

This guy, if he can avoid using WeChat and QQ, he will; he’s really one of a kind.

He read the text ssage first: "7:00 p.m. at 188 Chaoyang Road, don’t be late."

After reading it, Chen Feng was sowhat speechless. What place was 188 Chaoyang Road?

So, Chen Feng directly called him, and only after a chat did he find out that the location was picked by his girlfriend. It was a private restaurant that only accepted bookings in advance and served delicious Huaiyang cuisine.

Qin Zhen hoped Chen Feng would bring Wu ngting, a fellow townsman, along so it wouldn’t be just the two couples and Chen Feng all by himself, which would make him seem quite lonely—a case of being force-fed dog food.

Chen Feng asked if he could bring Lin Wan, and Qin Zhen agreed after only a slight hesitation.

After ending the call with Qin Zhen, Chen Feng went to check the WeChat ssages from Lin Wan, starting with the ones from the previous night that he hadn’t read. There were more than a dozen in total.

So were angry emoticons, which Chen Feng directly ignored. The rest were her asking him to bring Qin Zhen over to her place for a al.

Chen Feng skimd through them and couldn’t be bothered to read further. He simply typed a ssage back letting her know that tonight at 7:00 p.m., Qin Zhen had invited the two of them for dinner at a private Huaiyang cuisine restaurant.

Lin Wan replied almost instantly: "Really?"

"Fake."

Then, Lin Wan sent a request for a video call right away.

Chen Feng declined and then sent a voice ssage: "Really, 7:00 p.m. at 188 Chaoyang Road, private restaurant. I’ll give you the details when I co by your place at noon."

Lin Wan finally replied satisfactorily with a voice ssage: "Okay, we’ll talk when you co over. Oh, and rember to buy two, no, make it three, three Mandarin fish; Tiantian loves them."

She was quite bold with Chen Feng.

Chen Feng asked, rather annoyed, "Is it you who likes them or her?"

"We both like them. Don’t you like them too? Last ti, you ate more than half of that stead Mandarin fish."

"...Alright, got it."

After the voice chat with Lin Wan, Chen Feng was finally fully awake and got up to wash.

Going downstairs and seeing the empty dining table, it was as expected—Xiao Ya did not have the habit of making him breakfast.
